  1. I LOVE this scent! So fresh and crisp! I put 1 drop of ivory in the pour pot and it's just wonderful! Got an order today from one of my Feed store chains for 1 case each (16 oz. sq. mason jars) of 19 of my new fragrances. They have 5 stores! Gotta try this one! I've decided to drop a ton of my "old regulars" and add some of the new fragrances I've heard about on this board. They are going like crazy! I had another store 20 miles from me, that came in while we were pouring and put down a good chunk of change ($300) and bought 80% new fragrances. You gotta try Little Black Dress. I put this in my 9 oz. square mason jar with black lid, dye the candle black with a sexy fabric tie (just to die for!) Too cute! TTFN Carrie
  2. www.fragranceandflavors.com (they are part of Wholesalesuppliesplus.com) FREE shipping over $50. This is awesome scent! HTH
  3. You all have intrigued me sooo much that I went out and purchased and poured today: Candlescience: Cranberry Marmalade (not poured yet, but smells wonderful) Violet Lime (just got today and smells awesome!) Peaks: White Tea & Ginger Black Raspberry Vanilla Daystar: Ginger Lime - OMG! Blackberry Jam Butter Cookies - double OMG! FOH: Pears & Pearls - WOW!~ so smooth! Little Red Dress - Very sexy scent! I've dyed this one black with a black lid and sexy fabric tie) So cute! But, if you want a black candle and use BCN's black powder, just be warned that it will ruin your pour pot! Stains it real bad! Well, now I have one pot for this FO. We poured Curve (NG), Beach House (F&F) and High Maintenance (TCS) and we thought we were going to pass out! These fragrances are so strong I had to open the door to my shop! Just thought you'd like to know some strong thowers!~ LOL What else is good that you all have been experiencing. Oh, I discontinued 17 scents from my line, and added.....maybe too many? Oh well, I'm happy! Thanks all for your truly inspiring recommendations. Now, new is pouring my new palm wax pillars! Carrie
  4. I have two 150# melters and while pouring I have 4 pots. I try to distinguish pots by color, only because I don't wipe out my pots. Lite colors in one, medium colors in another, darks in another, or I go by scent, because I don't wipe out my measuring cups either. All little wax or scent from previous batch won't make a difference. Please remember, don't make it hard on yourself, the end result will all be the same. I hear so many people doing things that aren't necessary. Just remember, your labor is not a calculated cost in your candles. I don't calculate my labor because It's a given in the cost, but doing shortcuts it's worth it! People who ladle wax, pour into 4 oz. cups or heated pyrex cups is labor wasted, etc. and is too labor intensive. If you're going to pour, POUR! I always keep an inventory of over 1000 candles! I'm just ready for the next order..... I pour by the 4 lb. pour pot and that will do 10- 8 oz. sq. mason jars or 5 16 oz. mason jars. In any given day I can pour 350-400 candles. Remember, do what's smart. HTH Carrie
  5. Gee, that sounds like something I would do! Hope you are allright!!:awww:
  6. "Candlechem has the buck lure scent." That's it, that's the one I poured for my husband, et al. HORRIBLE STUFF! Nasty!
  7. http://artsandcrafts.about.com/library/supsource/states/blil.htm Try this link. I went to google (I google everything!) and it brought this link up first. Seems there are a few co.'s in Illinois. Google is wonderful! HTH
  8. I recall a couple of years ago I purchased some DEER URINE for my husband and brother-in-law to take to the deer lease. They really took it, but then again my brother-in-law will try anything! Don't know HOW I found it, but if you do find some ~ Just word of warning, DO NOT POUR INSIDE YOUR HOUSE!! You will regret it! My house was reaking of urine for a week! Of course, the guys thought it was soooo funny! NOT! Good luck!
  9. http://www.geocities.com/lwoollen_25/FragranceFinder/ Here is a fragrance finder that I refer to at times. Here is another one: http://www.fragranceoilfinder.com/catalog/index.php HTH!
  10. Hi! I use their Oakmoss, Christmas Hearth (I call Welcome Home and is a big seller all year!), midsummer's night (a mixer for me), bluebonnet (we'll I'm from Texas!LOL), Cool Water, Dreamsicle and a few others. I don't normally buy too much from them because they don't take paypal. HTH!
  11. http://www.sweetcakes.com/default.php?cPath=5 Here it is! HTH
  12. Yes, I just read your post. Whew! OK, gettin the 11's on order today. Thanks so much you all! Boy, this container candle person has alot to learn about pillars!:embarasse
  13. For SheilaW: You were right, the RRD55 and 45 ply are too big. Shell is way to thin....OK, on to more testing with RRD50. Waiting on my CSN 12 and 14's to come in. LX20 way too small as is 1/10 sq. braid, and 36 ply flat braid. Just trying a little of this and that.*faint*
  14. Brought the candles with me to work. Am doing 2 - 3 hr. burns today, or what would you all suggest? Thanks, :tiptoe:
  15. You got it! 3 burns because I don't have the time to do 3-4 hr. burns, unless I leave them unattended! And that's a no-no. Right? Thanks!
  16. I have been test burning 6 palm wax pillars today. They are all 3" pillars. I used the following wicks: LX20 RRD 50 RRD 55 45 ply cotton braid 36 ply cotton braid 1/10 square braid After several 1.5 hr. burns. Here are the results (sorry no pics ~ left camera at work!) LX20 good burn to begin with then got smaller and smaller. 1" melt pool. No Good! RRD 50 - Good melt pool but wick started mushrooming after 1 hr. and wick started to lean to one side causing uneven melt pool. No good. RRD 55 - OMG! Perfect! 3/8" shell, consistent burn, consistent melt pool, good size flame, never over done! This is not a wax that you can hug so a small shell to me seems perfect! 45 play flat braid (used on the 3"x9" pillars) same as RRD55, perfect in all aspects. 36 ply - good burn, but larger shell. 1/10 square braid - Small melt pool, and flame eventually got smaller. So my recommendations are RRD55 for 3" - 6" pillars and 45 ply flat braid (spooled wicking) for 9" and up pillars. Oh and by the way, my pillars scented in leather and wranger butt (my own mix) are beautiful! I have ordered the CSN 12 and 14 wicks and will test with those, but RRD 55 and the flat braid are readily available at most candle suppliers. I'll bring camera home tomorrow and show you pics! Happy Plam Pouring! Carrie
  17. Thanks Grama! The 3-wick molds I have, have an indention at the wick hole area. After they've set up, I use my 6" wick pin and poke a hole straight down and insert wick. Really easy! Give it a try! I'm testing burning the pillars (3" 4", 6" and 9") right now using a variety of wicks. Come to the conclusion that the RRD55 is working the best and for the 9" pillars a 45 ply flat braid wicking is doing great! HTH Thanks!
  18. :bump: Grama, here are the 3-wicks I did. Thanks!
  19. I'm pouring right now from my presto pot and my spigot is not clogged. Hmmmm......but then I'm melting another batch of wax right now. I'm testing different wicks (acutally 6 wicks). I would also suggest the heat gun to heat the spigot to let loose whatever wax has hardened in the spigot. Also, to get the feathered look you have to cool very, very slowly. I have mine on my island, sitting on newspapers and covered with a box. I don't lift the lid until the next morning. I previously poured 3 - 3 wick candles and did them that way and they are beautiful! HTH
  20. Isn't Debbie May the President of WSP? Check the website. I've not had any problems with them in the past, but there's always a first, right? Good Luck and sorry to hear this,
  21. WOW! Looks terrific! I just had to try this myself and ordered 10#'s yesterday! :smiley2:
  22. Hi, thanks! Yes, I poured 3-3 wicks as testers using different FO's. The wicks I used are zinc core 60's. I poured the first one in Gourmet Creme Brulee (not pictured) with 1 60, and 2-51's (all zinc core) and the 51's did OK, I think the 60's will work much better. The one's in the pic. will be tested tomorrow in my shop while I'm pouring some tall pillars for testing. Oh, the pictured candles all have 60's. I just love this wax! Thanks again!
