  1. Liquid Paraffin? Where do you buy that at, never heard of it? ETA: I just Googled liquid Paraffin and her's doesn't look like it would be liquid paraffin. Her's looks more clumpy and thicker.
  2. That's what I told the person who mentioned people add vegetable oil to make wax softer. I was like,.."Ummmm, those oils go rancid in soap so they can go rancid in a small amount of wax that doesn't harden. YUK!!! And her customers will never know and she will make a "killing" off of it. ETA: Well hopefully all of her customers use it up quick.
  3. I was just told that they use regular Veggie Oil added to a softer wax to get it more liquefied. So she will be making a killing off adding veggie cooking oil to her wax. WOW!!!
  4. How is she getting her wax to be more liquefied, any ideas?
  5. So what are your takes on this???? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2n6VHma-0KY
  6. I can't either unless its mixes with a coffee scent.
  7. I have visited their main storefront in Indiana. I have liked every wax product I have purchased from them.
  8. They have been hit & miss for me. Some oils were good and some were just to light.
  9. I'm trying to figure out what the bread scent is that some vendors use to make pink bread & lemon bread, etc... I can't figure out what the "bread" scent is..anyone know? I know its been mentioned in another thread but search is giving me a error message.
  10. Both are local and I can pick-up... The Candle Source The Candlemaker Store (wax & fo) Not so local but... Indiana Candle Supplies
  11. Oh goodness, I dont think it is a TO sweet type scent yet it isnt really tart either. It smells good oob but even better in wax. I used 415/4625 @(30/70) and the HT is really good. I guess its sweet yet tart,..blackberry is a harder one to describe. If you have ever tried a blackerry cheesecake though, that is sweeter than this blackberry cobbler. (I'm sniffin' a tart of it now on ct).
  12. At first I was wondering if you were speaking of Tennesse Candle Supplies and I knew they didnt have 1 ozer's, so then I knew it had to be The Candle Source. I use their Blackberry Cobbler and its a huge seller for me. ETA" Meandgarr, if you call in the morning they will gladly let you add to your order.
  13. Here is a quick look at a quarter auction/quarter mania Dave....(you'll notice at a quick glance a Gold Canyon Candle table)......
  14. Sorry if I confused ya Dave about a QA. And I do not like losing sleep, bummer!!!!
  15. A quarter auction is usually a type of fundraiser using quarters kinda like you play bingo to win prizes. It is illegal in some states but Ohio is a 'pro" gambling state. Each vendor gives 5 products, one as a full DONATION and the other four products are bidded on with quarters. You get all the quarters for the other four products but after you figure your cost, shipping and sales tax, you agree to give the rest of your quarters to the charity/fundraiser. You also get to set-up a table with your products to sell before & after the quarter auction. ETA: Usually depending on the retail value of the product, its either a 1 quarter bid or a 2 quarter bid. You buy paddles with numbers on them and the announcer has chips with the numbers on them (same as the paddles) and if they call your number and you have that paddle (number) you win that prize and so on for each products given to the auction.
  16. LOL! I agree with you there. I just know they are going to hate to see my table when they see my products and that I MAKE them myself.
  17. Ok, I have a few friends who do a couple quarter auctions monthly and they have asked me to join in their group with vendors who sell Scentsy, Partylite, 31 gifts, Grace Adele, etc... anyhow, I agreed to try it out and the first auction isnt until April. I recently had another lady contact me after my friends shared that I am a crafter who makes her own candles who would be joining their group. This lady said that because I am a crafter, and alot of crafters sell junk, that there should be no place for crafters in these types of events because like with Scentsy and Partylite their names are already out there and are well known and they have great products that are known to be great products. *Will one of my crafter friends here just throw the BIG Ole' coutch at me so I can go hide behind it!!!! KIDDING!!!! But it certainly was a hateful message and it make me more determined to GO FOR IT!!!! What are your opinions, would you still participate or just do strictly craft shows????
  18. real Indian Bread is just like Flat Bread or Crêpes.
  19. Do you package any differently when shipping tarts during warmer weather months to keep from melting?
  20. Spearmint is my favorite mint and I like to add it in the Spring/Summer months. Need some ideas on what would blend well with Spearmint besides vanilla of course.
  21. Here is a supplier that I buy from often. She has a great variety of scents... http://stores.ebay.com/JosiesAtticCandlesandSupplies/4-oz-Fragrance-Oils-/_i.html?_fsub=8&_sid=123765146&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322
  22. Ya, I guess thats the way of unfriending someone these days, lol. You do it on facebook "quietly". :rolleyes2
  23. I can tell you, I have tried every vendor out there that carries them and the only one that is the truest without smelling so much like yeast is Millcreek's Warm Baked Bread. If I buy just even one FO from there, thats the one because its not so yeast smelling.
  24. Thanks Dave. You may be right about her contacting me in the furture. I really do think she wanted to sell mine and her's as well, I felt that when I seen her candles (5 of them on the shelf next to mine and when she told me that she had only made 5 candles so far. She never said exactly what her intentions were wheather it was to continue to sell both or sell mine while she built-up her own stock and then kick me to the curb. I don't care at this point, I am picking up my stuff and her and I will no-longer be business partners. As for a friendship with her, it would be very "limited" maybe just a online facebook "aquaintance", funny now that I seen her candles and that I am picking-up my products,..she has re-sent me a facebook friend request after taking me off so that I didn't see her post about making her own candles and the pic she shared on her wall of my candles with her's in the mix. It will never be a friendship as it was thats for sure and definitely not EVER again be a business relationship.
  25. I can only imagine what you dealt with. You were a busy body, lol. Do you miss managing all that? Fifteen stores, WOW! I have never been stiffed any money, she seems to be apologetic for the way it happened and I'm ok with the ending, sad I lost a friend but it will be ok. Like many have said, it was a business deal and I took it further becoming friends and obviously more-so than she did. I will be picking-up my products on Friday and she sent me a invoice lastnight with the inventory along with monies owed to me and its all good so far. In a weird strange way, it kind of feels like a relationship "break-up" just not as bad. Hopefully friday goes well. I think it will.
