Trapp, I absolutely love these and think I have another project in the works because of these pics. LOL. Does anyone think there is a liability issue with these? That is what is holding me back at this moment.

Oh very pretty! Can't wait to see them cut!
-
OMG that's beautiful Kristy!
Hope you don't mind my asking but did you just sprinkle the glitter on top or was it mixed in the batter?
Oh no i don't mind! I sprinkled it high above the soap afterwards and had to rub it between my fingers as I did it or it would fall in clumps.

Very pretty! Cant wait to see it cut.
Trish
The cut pics are in post #27

Thank you everyone for all the nice compliments. I'm glad you like them as much as I like making them.

Gorgeous soap as usual. Are your butterfiles embeds set on top of the soap or did you make those butterflies with your colored soap like you do the hearts (which aren't embeds on top of the soap)?
They are embeds

Here are the cut pics, I think the base will get browner which is why I added yellow shavings.

My logo is a butterfly....I LOVE BUTTERFLIES! That soap is just amazing. How in the world did you do that? I could never reproduce something so beautiful but would love to hear how you made these little beauties!
Lol! I made a thin layer of soap to swirl with in the bottom of this mold. I unmolded the next day and let this thin layer cure for a couple weeks. Then I cut out the butterflies with cookie cutters. They come out of the cookie cutters alot easier if the soap is cured a little bit. I took these and laid them into a thin layer of soap on top of a layer already set. HTH!

Very pretty!

I would do white and brown, but that's just me. LOL

This one is scented with SW Hanae Mori Butterflies. [removed promo text]

As always--in awe!! How do you make those little balls on top? They look so perfectly round, there must be some special technique.
Jane
I get the molds at flexiblemolds.com. You have to request the molds to make 1" balls.

Well not candy but soap!
Scented with DS Lemon Sugar & Candied Violets. I didn't know the base would turn yellow with this oil until afterwards. I pretty much wasted my time adding yellow shreds.

Thank you so much, I'm glad everyone enjoys them as much as I like making them.

I wanted a silvermoon and emailed sandy almost a week ago and no response so I called them and no response there. I caved in and ordered an Upland.

I really want to grow up and be a soap maker like you..:smiley2:
You are silly... thank you!

Oh thank you, just regular gold mica. Darn it! I forgot to use my special gold for this!

Acceleration worked out for me this time, kind of.
I don't like how the tops turned out but I think I have it figured out for next time.
Scented with Tony's White Ginger & Amber. MMMMM!

Oh those are so pretty!

Ok, now will you tell how you can swirl three colors like that and keep them crisp and not all smeared? Those are really cool!!
Hi Soapy! Refer to this thread. I posted the instructions in there.

Soapfreak,
Love the way your tarts look, gives them some pizzaz!
Did you just put a drop or two of dye directly in each mold or did you swirl in the pour pot? I made some M&P last year for a customer that wanted "M&P" soaps for Christmas gifts and they turned out really cool looking by just putting a couple drops directly in the individual molds.
Actually I made my wax come to a slushy stage and put about 3 drops of color per 8 oz. of wax and slightly stirred with a stick. I didn't completely mix it in. Then I glopped it in the molds just pulling different parts of the wax out of the container and throwing it in each tart and alternating between each tart. I let them cool slightly then pressed into the tart with my hand. I then finished them off by using my heat gun on the bottom for just a second and then setting them down and heating around the outsides and smoothed out the tops last.

These are so fun to make but so messy. I scented these with Tony's White Ginger & Amber.

Oh these were fun! Except dummy me, put them in the freezer and left them in there too long, then they cracked and broke apart. These were the ones that survived. Scented with Ms. Randy's Vanilla Bean from Wildfire. The best vanilla ever!

Sorry if this has been asked before, but can lotion bars be colored with micas?
I would think so elite, but I don't know how well you will see the sparkle.
Metallic gold colorant for wax?

I know this is a stupid question but has anybody heard of this and where to get it or should I just use plain old mica?
