  1. olive oil smells fine in the bottle...i used 1 ounce of fragrance for 3 lbs soap fo was super strong for a couple weeks now i am gettin oo smell in the shower not much fo I have made a batch with palm and no oo used a combo of soybean, canola and i can't remember what else but turned out fine but not as creamy and bubbly even though numbers on calc say it should have been That is why i am wanting to keep the lard
  2. figure all your costs per bar x three 2lbs makes 8 4oz bars soap base + shipping fo additives packaging etc. add total and divide by number of bars x 3 something like that
  3. totally forgot that last 5 % is castor
  4. Maybe I have the wrong olive oil and it is only about a few mnths old bought it at trader joes. It is light green it says 100% pure olive oil/ imported I think it was $6.00 for a bottle 32 oz i think
  5. Wow, tall order I can only tell you what I have been using for the past month or so I am 47 with oily skin with breakouts usually the nasty kind /cystic ok I have tried oil cleansing method , alot of sotre brand facial cleansers and was not for me...still had cystic acne. so I know honey and sugar are great for your skin so i created face scrub recipe with these things in mind and also added teatree and peppermint oil http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54059&highlight=sugarbee you can tweak this by adding more liquid soap or shower gel to your desired consistancy... the key to washing with this is to put on dry face and rub in to exfoiliate and when you prefer less exf. you can wet your hands and rub in for about a whole minute , then rinse with a soft cloth as for wrinkles i have a lotion but cannot sell it as of yet but not sure it qualifies as antiwrinkle but makes me feel like I lood great. hope this was helpful
  6. good to hear!!!!!!!

  8. I have done some research on this and you could try brew some tea ( your choice, chamomile and green I would choose) cool and pour into a sprayer bottle -4 oz add 10 drops lavender oil, maybe a bit of aloe gel or juice and shake and spritz sunburn I would try this on a small area first tannin in tea is supposed to help pain Alos have him drink plenty of water and for pain can give him tylenol I feel your pain , as I had a severe burn on my face last week ( swollen and blistered
  9. can you use something else besides water for the water part in a lotion recipe that is not oil? like- I don't know...juice or witch hazel...I guess I am trying to avoid having to have it tested to sell it... but looks like I may have to since so many tester love this lotion
  10. http://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/StoreCategory.aspx?CategoryID=1618&CategoryName=Lip+Pots+%26+Jars Do you mean these?

  13. hi again I guess i worry that in the transfer from my measuring bowl sitting on the scale to the actual pot to heat oils that you loose some that you can't scrape out...maybe it's not important but with all the trying to get exact measurements and all.. soap seems to turn out fine though Not quite sure what a stainless steel jam pan is but I will look around at kmart and see what I find tomorrow thanks lady have a good night
  14. No problems and no bubbling over...I have a wooden mold hubby made an i made sure to rub it down with olive oil a couple of times so it wouldn't warp...i line my mold with those foam craft sheets cut to fit and I do use a towel on a cookie sheet just as directions say without any problems. I have a batch sitting in the oven now and it looks lovely, can't wait to take it out in the morn.
  15. I have to say I tried cp hp once and it was interesting, lumpy soap and hard to scoop all into mold...soooo I found an alternative that I am still trying to master but am having better luck with its called in the mold hot process ...give it a look http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art10361.asp My batch today was nice and creamy with a few lumps but did pour into mold nicely only thing I do dofferently than bellonline is I set oven at 170 degrees. This method is so simple for me, I will always use ITMHP love it!!! I just melt oils and turn of to cool and mix lye/water and wait for both to reach 100 degrees and then mix lye in oils, my recipe seems to trace within about 15 min...then pour in prepared mold and into oven, wa la ...next day soap will be ready to cut. Just thought I'd throw that out there in case you wanted to try something different.
  16. I assume you are making soap with max lol Great deal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Ok i did in the mold oven hp this morn, after I poured the soap into the mold I discovered that I forgot the fo so I poured it right in and mixed it up Do you think It will turn out ok? One more thing I noticed - when i began to pour there were lumps as in my first batch that turned out fine. I mix oi/lye mix at 100 degrees and stir till trace...think that's right Am I not pouring soon enough? One more question...do yall measure oils into mixing pot or do you measure each oil seperate then pour into bowl or pot? Need to get something to make bigger batches but not sure what... using crock pot right now and usually do 3lb batches. Sorry that was two more things, trying to cover all the bases. Thanks
  18. Still searching Thanks for info blazerina
  19. Just had a customer ask me to make him a bumb free shave cream, you know when you don't get razor burn or bumps...Well I know nothing about shaving cream Does anyone know where I should start, I know there is a shave cream called kleen shave made with eo's that are anti inflammitory. Help!
  20. I know the coconut is a bit high but my idea for thi particular soap is that is extra cleansing made for the greasy man , conditioning i think is at 46
  21. I love the smell of this soap you get at hotels...Does anyone know where I can get this scent I have been to a few places online and cannot find it.
  22. Does this recipe seem ok?
  23. I would also figure adding rice bran oil in you soap figures and see what happens , hardness on that is 26. Should bring up the hardness to 40 if you plug it in in place of sunflower.
  24. I believe soybean oil is a smidge harder than sunflower and can get at grocery store , it is crisco pure vegetable oil in a bottle. try switching that at the soap cal and see what you get, I like my hardness above 40 -that is what I bought at kroger. What other oils do you have if any?
