  1. The shower was nice and this scrub has a creamy lather, just rub it in until all sugar is dissolved and walah smooth skin, rinses off nicely and feeling moisturized not oily. The homemade soap is made with- coconut, olive, caster, sunflower oils- so adds to the conditioning qualities of this scrub i think. OOh another thought !@#$ ommit the sugar and use as a cream wash maybe infuse some green tea and chamomile tea into oil part. Seems like I could go on and on here! Not sure how these ideas will work but I'm gonna try
  2. total batch size x .05 8 oz x.05 =.4oz The reason I put preservative in this is it will be in contact with water. I have also posted another scrub recipe that is soo nice and I am currently using Sugarbee...as face wash ( because of less oily) and Sugar Bubble as body wash- is a bit more spreadable and creamy and it bubbles cause of the addition of hp soap. Truely I would like to hear feed back if anyone tries these recipes. Such a newbie here Smile
  3. You are welcome, this is my thanks to all that have helped me in my soap making adventure. I have been formulating this for a while and have come up with so many failures...I am not a fan of an oily body or dry scrub and I was looking to make something with this first batch of soap that is not hardening up well ( hubby loves it though) outsides are hard but middle is still moist. So !@#$% thinking mostly gets me in trouble but I think this recipe was worth it Off to shower now with my new sugar bubble scrub!!!
  4. This is a small recipe as I was just doing a trial run on this one Sugar Bubble Scrub I used a bar of homemade soap for this one Weigh out 1 oz of soap ( cut from bar) 2 oz lite oil ( I used mostly sunflower, a splash sesame, splash coconut) Heat together for 10-20 sec at a time and stir inbetween until it is like applesauce, then I put this into magic bullet to whip. It should look like thin mashed potatoes then scoop back into bowl and add about 2 tb br sugar 1 1/2 tsp. honey ..Mix it up I suppose you could add some eo's at this time for medicinal purposes or not Don't forget a preservative if making alot of this. I just washed my hands with this mix and it was bubbly and when I started to rinse, it felt a bit slick but rinsed off nicely leaving skin feeling smooth. to increase size 4 oz soap 8 oz lite oil 1/4 - 1/2 c sugar 1 tb honey eo / fo ( my soap is already scented) but may need to add more. add lastly- preservative ( being as it will be in the shower) Not quite sure what type of container to put this in yet But for now it is in a glad container Next try I may try adding a smidge of mango butter Have a super day!!
  5. Well I guess I'm the only one excited about this recipe. If any of you have any suggestions on how to make this thicker and more like a gel , please leave your suggestions.
  6. I'd like to share a recipe with you all I have been working on a sugar scrub for weeks trying to make it non oily and creamy- with a spreadable consistancy. This is what I have come up with for now Sugarbee...... Makes 8oz Phase I 1/4 cup white sugar 1/4 cup brown sugar 2 tablespoobs glycerin 1 tb honey 1 tb shower gel ( can be all natrual or liquid soap) Phase II 1 tb jojoba oil 1/2 tb stearic 1/2 full tb ewax or .15 oz Phase III .05% germabenII fo about 1/8 tsp., your choice I added teatree for my oily skin Mix: sugars, glycerine, honey & shower gel Heat: jojoba oil, stearic, ewax Mix warm oil with sugar mixture and whip with wisk to blend Add: germabenII and fo blend well Should be able to pour into a squeezable bottle I just made this today and used it...no oily feel after rinsing and skin feels so soft Note; Can use just brown sugar for less exfoilation Shower gels can have different consistancies...mine is thick- but all natrual may be thinner so you may need to adjust. Try this and let me know what you think :yay:

  8. Oh Man! I am totally thinking of changing that name now But no ideas to what.
  9. Mslegacy, Not sure where you typed in passion ,but those are some good ideas to start with My co name came from the fact that I have done everything from jewelry, candles, quilts, tartmelts, and now soap...Following my passion to create...a friend of mine said "ooh that sounds sexy"..I was totally not thinking that until she mentioned it. I have not as of yet filed for a business license so the name is negotialable at this time. So far I make two soaps, aqua grean-chai tea & rosemary-mint...for thiose I call them by fragrance. Thanks for getting my brain in the thinking mode
  10. Do you all name your soaps by fragrance or give them special names? Why I ask is , I have made a face bar with neem oil And was thinking of naming it Neemo - face and body bar for oily skin But my dilemma is that my company name is Passion Lane Get the feeling and maybe I should name soap something more sultry?
  11. Ok , I think I have settled on a recipe I've spent hours at the soap calc figuring this and am anxious to hear what you think of these numbers I am going to give this a try tomorrow- hp coconut 30% palm 30% olive 20% canola 15% caster 5% hard 43 clean 20 cond 53 bl lath 25 crm lath 27 iodine 56 ins 156 Thanks all for input and advise, You all have helped so much.
  12. Great Job, I have read many posts here about forgetting the scent. I'v only made one batch myself and it is so exciting to see your creation turn into soap. Now you're hooked. Let us know how the soap turns out.
  13. Oh this is so hard I did refigure in the soapcalc hardness drops, conditioning goes up and I loose bubbles What am I shooting for here I did read soap qualities but they are not specific enough I definatly don't want a drying bar I have figured about ten different recipes should I be using palm instead of lard? Thought I would use readily available stuff The bar lasting in the shower is my concern with it being too conditioning. Now I am totally confused :undecided
  14. What do you think of thes recipe to start with coconut 30% lard or palm 30% olive 35% caster 5% hard 42 clean 20 cond 53 bubbly 25 crm lath 26 iodine 53 ins 162 Not sure if the numbers are what I want , but should be hard and conditioning with lather? Tell me your thoughts thanks
  15. I know that it is another process with potassium hydroxide, but found a couple recipes making it out of bar soap so I thought I'd try it out, Now I wish I had not.
  16. Has anyone tried making liquid soap with a bar of cp and water Does yours turn out gloppy What did I do wrong or is this the way it will be, runny and gloppy? :undecided
  17. Ok am I waiting for lye to get up to 100 degrees or cool down to 100 degrees? before adding to oils
  18. WHOLESUPPLIESPLUS has an excellent silk & shea base, Cust loved it. I also have fumbled with stephensons base, ( I purchased from another supplier- my customers were so dissappointed at the no lather issue . I have 4 lbs still and may end up sending it back. When All my m& p base is used up I am going to be making my own version of shea soap. Someone here mentioned adding 1 tb of liquid castile soap per pound of M&P to add lather...think I am going to give that a go with a pound and see what happens.
  19. Wher do you all get palm kernal flakes from? Who has the best price, I am thinking wsp Can It be purchased locally? Thanks

Myself, drops from pipette is what I use... Not laughing- there is so much to learn and understand, Only way to learn is to ask. The toner can be used without peppermint leaves added, still a good toner that way.
  22. Becky Just had a silly idea Keep all 4 and group your candle scents #1 clean, water, fresh scents #2 woodsy, down home, manly, warm, food scents #3 fruity #4 flowery scents #5 seems you would have to create a new one for Holiday or seasonal
