  1. I agree with the Peaks. I hate floral fragrances, and Plumeria is a stronger one that gives me a headache. However, I sold a ton of it. I used to use JS. But it seemed the formulation changed or something (because I didn't) a while back and the hot throw ceased. So I changed to Peak and my customers love it. So the headaches continue! Lol
  2. I often remelt my own votives/melts/etc. and reuse. If I were in your shoes, I would try it, and be sure to test first before selling. No need to let that much wax go to waste. You can also use them in firestarter candles, melts, chunks for candles, etc. Lots of uses. Have fun!!
  3. I totally agree, funkymonkey66. I am not nearly as big as BCN, but I can at least judge shipping. My customers will NEVER pay more than the shipping total my shopping cart provides. In fact, if the shopping cart total is more than actual shipping, my customers get a shipping refund!
  4. It is very surprising that as "big" a company as BCN is, their website is as unfriendly as it is. And I have experienced worsening customer service as well. I used to order 90% or more of my oils from them. Not any more. After having personally dealt with Doneen and the not-so-good customer service, my business has been taken elsewhere....so has a BUNCH of my money!!
  5. I would not use plastic. When I have that many to make, I put them in the cardboard flats (like canned goods come in). They work perfectly and easy to carry. If you want them to look nice you can cover with tissue paper. I have never done that, though. I keep lots of flats around for that. Cardboard boxes work, too, especially if you have to ship them. If you have a deep enough box, you can separate the layers with tissue paper, bubble wrap, cardboard pieces, etc. HTH. Have fun!!
  6. I only offer tarts (and will keep it that way! LOL) and thanks to Scentsy sales have at least tripled!! They are easier for me to make, as I pour hot and melt the clamshell molds. Plus they are easier to display for me.
  7. For how much, you would need to test it to see what works for you.
  8. As the bottle is not that big, my label covers approx. 2/3 or 3/4 of the bottle. As I want the customers to be able to read it, the wording reads across the label horizontally.
  9. I use the 1/2 oz Boston rounds and had a friend design my label. I have them professionally printed and just hand write in the fragrance. Works like a charm!!
  10. Yes, I use the powder as well. I melt it with a little f/o (not too hot) to get it to blend with the oil and coloring. Works like a charm!!
  11. I also had problems with TN recently. I understand about hard times, but if you are online, then 1) check your messages and 2) RESPOND!! I had to send emails and phone calls as I had already paid for an order and heard nothing, received nothing, yada yada. Finally someone replied via phone. I do like their oils and will give them another chance. Hopefully they can get the website thing together.
  12. I have made aroma bead air fresheners for years ....and have fading issues. I DO use UV Inhibitor when making the beads and it has significantly decreased the fading to almost non existent.
  13. When I made them, I triple wicked with a 51 zinc and med density gel. The "salt" around the rim I used very fine, irridescent glitter. I sprayed glue onto wax paper and dipped the top of the glass into it, then did the same for the glitter. I also have granulated wax to be used the same way....but have never used it as the glitter always sells best. HTH
  14. I have used decal paper from Beldecal with good success. I add a little tacky glue to the candle area to be covered by the stencil to decrease the chance of bubbling. It works like a charm. For smaller areas to decorate and finer print, what about using a kistka?
  15. Why not shrink wrap them? The top would stay protected from dust and finger pokes and remain looking nice. I shrink wrap all of my larger items. And really it doesn't take away from the sale at all...in fact, I think it contributes to it.
  16. I have had f/o stay just fine (as stated above) in HDPE bottles. I do store them in dark, cool areas. I have found that the citrus oils don't remain "good" for very long. So I try not to keep many of those on hand at one time. HTH. Good luck!
  17. Any ideas of suppliers? Tried NG, but no hot throw whatsoever in paraffin. I have had a request by customers for this scent for a few years....but cannot seem to find a quality, well throwing fragrance oil. TIA
  18. I only offer free shipping to military addresses. I do offer specials now and again through my website, FB and/or MerchantCircle for free shipping or other specials. Since I have been doing this, I have increased my number of followers and increased my overall sales.
  19. Congrats! What a great feeling! Here's to more orders for ya....:highfive:
  20. As mentioned previously, free samples are not bad. In fact, it can be a great way to advertise if done "smartly." I must admit I participated in several free giveaways, including sample boxes or ***Packs. However, if I did get an order, I don't remember. It entailed me mailing lump sums of samples to other vendors for them to hand out at shows, events, etc. Cool idea...but did not work for me. BUT it did send some new advertising venues my way and opened the door for some other ways for me to advertise online. So I cannot say it was a complete loss. Also as mentioned prior, I also give free samples of something with EVERY order. And at shows, my repeat and good customers get a little something extra. Keeps 'em coming back. People like FREE. That's why the FREE section on Craigslist is so popular....and FREE cycle. I wouldn't be surprised that most people who "jump" at the free stuff even use it.,.or know what it is. It's the thrill of getting some thing for FREE!! So don't give up. Find the positive in what you have already experienced, and move on. Best of luck to you!
  21. AWESOME to hear that...I just ordered two pounds from TN to try! LOL Thanks for the reassurance!
  22. Thanks for your input. I will check these out!
  23. It has been quite a few years since I carried this fragrance. I am now wanting to continue it again, but am having trouble locating it. Can anyone recommend where to get this fragrance from? I use paraffin. Thanks so much for any assistance you can give.
