  1. My Lilac was oily to the touch too but after a couple days it all soaked back in and is just fine now. It has been curing for about 2 weeks now and they aren't oily at all.
  2. I made a batch of lilac last weekend and it traced a little faster then normal but I didn't have any other problems with it. I used NG's Lilac. I was even able to get some lavender swirls in it....but I didn't get them dark enough and they don't show up real great. It was my first time working with ultramarines and oxides.
  3. I have one heck of a time getting the wax out of them....even putting them in the freezer. Votive/pillar was might be better..but I quit using them for my chunks because I wanted to use the same 70/30 I was using for the overpour. Too big of a hassle fighting with the trays. Now I just pour into a cookie sheet, cut into chunks with a razor knife while still soft and not completely set up, pop in the freezer for a few and whalaaa....nice chunks!
  4. Greenleafs Nuts & Pinecones would be a perfect scent for dipped pinecones! (or is it Pinecones & Nuts) Anyway it would be perfect!
  5. Gorgeous! You do an awesome job............do you have a website?
  6. Thanks SKG! Mine is water dispersible also. Never thought to add it to the water and lye mix.....
  7. I ordered some titanium dioxide to use on some of my swirled soap because I wanted part of it to be very white. Well I obviously didn't use enough because my soap didn't get white. How much do you use? And when you use this do you try to make your soap NOT gel? OR can it gel and still stay white? Do you mix it with water before adding it....or just add it dry? Can you tell I have never used this before?? LOL TIA for any help!
  8. Very Very nice..........your soaps are always so pretty!
  9. It sure helps with the wicking! LOL Good Luck!
  10. I haven't had any problem with that. I let it cool down a little bit more then usual..but still pour at around a 150.
  11. I do my chunks out of my 70/30 and overpour with the same 70/30. I just stick them against the side of the jar as I am putting them in.........haven't figured out and easier way to do it yet.
  12. BCN's BNL ahyride rocks! So does Autmn Leaves by BNL also.
  13. I just checked out Vista Print and ordered a sample pack from them....they are really reasonable!
  14. I just got Digital Image Pro 9 Suite......it has a brochure tri-fold layout. I am loving this program for EVERYTHING...labels, brochures, and so much other stuff! I had been using a few other programs.....including Publisher, Avery and so on and this program does soooooooooooo much more and user friendly. I bought mine off Ebay, brand new, for around $20 with shipping. It came highly recommended to me by a graphic artist I bought some stuff from and was having trouble adding my own Lettering to and graphics to. I can't say wnough about this one! Oh and at Office Max, Office Depot and places like that this program sells for about $99.
  15. At my walmart it is in the baking section.....right next to the dry milk in boxes and evaporated milk in cans. it is also in the refridgerated section right by the milk...but those are cartons.
  16. Oh and I forgot to say she has the warning labels that you can add your info (she adds) and also scents...
  17. www.brownkraftlabels.com She does GREAT work! I had her design my B&B labels and then print them on some label printer that is soooooooooo professional! They look awesome and are of course waterproof and everything! She is great to work with. She is now designing another line for us.
  18. The Red Broadway Licorice, Black Jack, Clove and Nutmeg gum. Taffy in the flat wax paper wrapped packages.........looked like a board and snowcones at the pool!
  19. I made a Goats Milk, Oatmeal and Brown Sugar.........and it stunk to high heaven. It didn't improve after a few days either! It is now about 5 weeks old and starting to smell pretty decent...but oh lord that stuff stinks! I use mainly soy milk in all my cp and i freeze it till it is very very slushy...almost solid then bust it apart with the spoon.....that works very good with soy. If I ever attempt Goat's Milk again I will freeze it next time and try it that way. But after that terrible stink...not sure I want to. Altho I need to do something with all those cans of Goats milk in the soap room! That and coconut milk....I have several cans of that and have never tried that yet.
  20. Ok i have done this both ways.......for you that make the Oatmeal, Milk & honey do you just leave it natural or do you add Oatmeal, Milk & Honey FO? And which way do you or your customers prefer? I left it plain and didn't think it "smelled enough"....so I made a batch with FO and man did that mellow very nicely!
  21. I don't like the bullseye gels either...they looky tacky! I just peeked at my Lilac in the oven and it gelled to all the edges..........so that worked great! But holy cow when I opened that oven door.....does it smell like a lilac bush in there! LOL
  22. Thanks you guys! I know it doesn't have to gel...but they sure look funky when you end up with a bar that is half gelled and half not. Annoying! I don't know how to keep it from gelling at all besides stick it in the fridge. I just threw a batch of Lilac in the oven--we'll see how that goes. The heating pad is a great idea too! Maybe if I would quit peeking that would help too? LOL I have no prob with my smaller batches...just this bigger mold.
  23. I use amber also and have never had it bleed yet........but not sure about the other colors. Guess I'll find out.
