  1. I want to sample this for my parasoy and glass glow palm. If you've poured it I would love your feedback:)
  2. Just poured my first glass glow palm containers last night and wondering if they require a lengthy cure time like straight soy?
  3. Thank you! One more question...what temp do you set your pour pot? For my parasoy I set it at 200.
  4. Found 10 lbs of glass glow while cleaning up my workshop, so of course I want to pour it up. Keep searching for threads to answer my question and when I find one that might it won't go past page one...poo...wish the search would get fixed soon:) Anyway, my question is can I just put several pounds of glass glow palm in a presto pot to use as needed...cool, reheat to pour a candle or two, cool, reheat etc or will that ruin the effect of the wax? Or, do I need to just melt the amount of wax I need each time? Also, does this wax get air pockets like other palm waxes? Do I need to poke relief holes and do a repour? Thanks in advance
  5. Thank you both. Very helpful info...I know the only way to find out is to test, but it's so helpful to have a starting point!
  6. Finally got my supplies straightened up enough to test my new 6006. I've searched but with the last few years of search missing, haven't found my answer. My question is about the way 6006 burns - across the top of the candle side to side, or down and then out like many other soy blends? A few years back I tested IGI 6036 (a 50/50 blend) and go figure it burned out across the jar from side to side with a lovely quarter inch deep pool, while, as said, other parasoy blends I've tried burn down and then melt the hang up as burns continue. I know I don't need a full pool on the first burn or two, but I don't like the look of a crater either:) I'll be using a 3" diameter jar and thinking of starting with a 51z, but also have eco's, CDs, LX, some HTPs etc. Thanks for any info you can offer...off to melt wax!
  7. you might try lightninglabels.com for your labels. They do great work
  8. The reason I ask about smoothness, is because of jar adhesion. With my particular blend, if the glass is smooth on the inside, I get zippo wetspots. If it's "wavy"not so much...lots of them and big ones. I know we are supposed to embrace those, but I'd rather not. I'd rather have great adhesion:)
  9. Wow Karen, super kind of you to offer! Calling the other supplier today to see if the oil is the same as GL/JBN. If not, I will take that sample! I am checking out Backwoods other oils. What else do you like from them?
  10. Ha ha...so does anyone have the answer to my original question? Are these smooth quality glass, or "ripply" on the inside like the cheaper imports? Learned alot about other jars through all the other info in this thread though:)
  11. Thank you! I will give them a call. It is one of my best throwers and favorite scents for candles and tart and my bottle is almost empty!
  12. I used to order this fabulous fragrance from GL, then from JBN after GL went out of business. Does anyone know if another supplier picked up this same fo? I've tried a few other samples and they just don't have the spice layers of the one I love. Thanks!
  13. thanks steve...where did you find lids for them? At Peaks?
  14. Does anyone use these? If so, couple of questions. Are these good quality smooth glass or do they have "ripples" in the glass like some of the cheaper imports? Also, anyone ever found a lid or cover for these? Thanks!
  15. thanks I think it does too so I'll give it a whirl.
  16. Finally testing 6006. Plan to pour it up as is, plus thought I might tinker with adding coconut oil. Any 6006 users that have done this and would like to share your results, opinions etc? I've added coconut oil to many other parasoy blends I've tested and I swear it helps prevent mushrooms...even with my zinc wicks.
  17. the cream of tartar is what gives the bubbles lasting power...in theory.
  18. the satsuma is heavenly in B&B and soap...haven't tried it in wax
  19. That's awesome that they loved your stuff. You didn't ask my opinion, so I'll give it, ha! I would get over quickly not charging family for your products. I tried that with my bath and body stuff and they bled my stock dry and then began to expect it. Now I have a 20% family discount...that's it. It made some mad, but whatever!
  20. There are some wonderful recipes in the B&B recipe section here. Look for the 4 and 5 star ones. There's a lovely body butter recipe to help you get started. Like Marsbars said, look for a supplier close to you to save some shipping money. Good luck, making B&B is lots of fun!
  21. Same here. I use NG almost exclusively for my fo's. I love all the info they give you on each one, the reviews, and their customer service. I'll still order from them.
