  1. I noticed that you said *blended* wax, so yes you are correct that it going to have some vybar already in it. (Especialy if the site says so. ) That being the case, you most probably don't need to purchase any extra vybar at this point in time. You most definitley want to take britishgirl's advice and get a wick sampler pack, that way if one size doesn't give you the results you want you can have others to choose from.
  2. Got one of embossing guns from Michaels, also. It's a tough little purple one.:smiley2: I must have dropped it 50 times...LOL..still going.
  3. Roll the dice and see how it goes. Just from the sound of it, you don't have a whole lot to lose. If after making and packing the wholesale order, you feel like you're getting the short end of the stick, you probably are. Best Wishes..:smiley2:
  4. LOL - told ya! Lets us know how it goes. I thinking that scent might be good for all year. Good luck at the fest..
  5. There are some on this list in Ky and Tn. http://www.candleandsoapstuff.com/Suppliers_by_State.html
  6. I've never done a craft show but wanted to wish you the best of luck today. It's 4:20 am here so It's about 5 hours differece there (No) maybe 9:20 am or 4 hours at 8:20am. Whatever the case may be, good luck, hope ye make some sales and get some positive exposure..:smiley2:
  7. If you buy aluminum molds from the U.S., Candle Science has really good prices and are located on the east coast. (N.C.) I'm not sure about their overseas shipping, but their in country shipping is very reasonable compared to the industry average, I'd say they have better than average rates. As for the western half of the U.S. Peaks would be my choice for the same.
  8. Many suppliers will take telephone orders for credit cards. That way the credit card # doesn't get put on the internet. I phone in all of my orders..
  9. I should have written: *Sun* Washed Linen instead of *Fresh* Washed Linen in my post above. The first time around must have been one of those senior moments..:smiley2:
  10. I agree with 3 x 4 . Some of the aluminum molds are actually closer to 4.5 in height. You will need to use a fully refined straight pillar wax to make rustics. Not a blended pillar wax. IGI 1343 is a good choice for rustics.
  11. Hats off to You (and your husband and daughter!) Way to Go! I understand some of the feelings and ramifications of not being able to do what you used to be able to do. Being disabled with chronic pain here (see what hours I'm awake at - 4 am.- oh yay..lol), candle making has become some good therapy for me, too...:smiley2: I don't make soaps, but I know that you know, what I'm saying. Making either candles or soap can be good for the spirit. That's a very good article and I loved the part about your daughter helping test the products. "If they think it stinks, they'll say so." ...lol...and the line about, "The only animals we use in testing are my kids.” was good for a chuckle as well. I also love the name that you came up with, "Veronica's Lavish Lathers". Best wishes for your continued success...
  12. Way to Go! Best Wishes to You. You've likely already read it but just in case you have'nt, there's a sticky at the top of the page here in the "Business Side of Things" forum and it's loaded with lots of good tips for craft fairs..:smiley2:
  13. She's a paraffin basher as well - paragraphs 3 and 4 . http://www.myplaceinthecountry.net/pillar.html
  14. No Problemo On or about June 26th you should notice a difference and become a full member - then you can really get into some trouble..lol..you'll be able to spend all your cash in the classifieds...
  15. Hi Yorkie Girl, You will be able to send and receive pm's and see the classifieds and such only after you have been a member for 30 days (I think) and a certain number of posts. It used to be 8 posts. Anyway, hang in there and welcome to CT. ps. Posting in the off topic area doesn't add to your post count. pss. Nice work! on the Grubby Jars Laura.. :smiley2:
  16. Golden Brands 464 but I haven't tried all that many different ones, just 3. I think they all have there quirks. I cut 30% paraffin into mine just to make a prettier candle and I think it helps the throw as well. Good luck to ya and welcome to CT....:smiley2:
  17. Apples and Maple Bourbon Caremelized Pralines - real strong in the pot - be prepared to open windows and doors..lol. Fresh Washed Linen Rainwater Mistletoe :smiley2:
  18. Nice first - let's see some burn pics...:smiley2: I always wanted to see how well that ecosoya pb burned.
  19. Haha now we know what you're up to.. They look great!
  20. Carry on my wayward friend, who knows where this will end.... bet it's gonna be cool, though.
  21. Ditto what others have said, plus I like your awning, welcome mat, and that your business hours are pretty easy to read from the curb. It's looks like you have put a great deal of thought, not to mention work, into making your business a success. I surely hope you continue to succeed. Be good to yourself as much as you can and as soon as you can. Working all of those hours, I'd hate to see you burn out. Under the current conditions as the sole producer, the whole deal relies on your well being, nearly 100% of the time. Hats Off to You - Well Done!
  22. Correct - I stated that in paragraph 1 of my post..." It would need to be curved of course, for round molds." :smiley2: As thin as those imprints seem to be, it probably wound'nt be extremely difficult to put the curve into the metal. A good sturdy piece of round stock of the correct diameter and a bit of pressure.
