  1. Your pictures are beautiful! You make me want to get back into doing gels again.

Everything loaded quickly. I didn't have the time to look at each one individually but just took a quick look at each category. I think you should be very pleased with what you've got there. It's very impressive, and your talent is abundant!

  2. I do greatly admire both Sharyl's and Donita's work. I love my tidepool candle that I got from Donita, but you make an awesome tidepool candle as well. I never got the gumption up to try making one. Don't underestimate yourself cause I've been eyeballing that seashell hurricane of yours for a while now. Don't be surprised if you get an order for that one.

  3. Top' date=' you are so right. I measure, turrn to drop my scoop in the sink, turn back and the reading is different. DH thinks hanging some dry packs will help with that, but I don't think anything will help that basement.

I was looking at that one. I have a couple of small scales and a postal scale from OWK.

I looked at this one also. But I'm afraid to order from SS because I know that, somehow, FO's will mysteriously find their way into my cart with the scale! :laugh2:

Thanks everyone for your help. If anyone had told me a year ago that I'd be obsessing over scales and soaping, I would have definitely called them a liar![/quote']

:rolleyes2 I had to get dh to order the scale for me so that I wouldn't end up with more fo that I can't afford right now.

I'll place my fo order while I'm all alone and no one is looking. :P

  4. I sued a former friend a couple of years ago over ignoring a $1000 loan. I won the case, but I have never collected.

For me, it was worth it. I had made a couple of loans--much larger than $1000--and had not been repaid. This girl simply thought that since I didn't do anything about those unpaid loans that I would ignore hers, too. When I mentioned repaying me during a conversation in which she was telling me about their vacation plans, etc, she cussed me like you wouldn't believe.

Those other "loans"--I waited too long after being strung along. I've made it clear that I'm no longer in the "lending" business.

  5. I got samples of that base back then and loved it. But, it was right before she closed SW, so I didn't go any further with it. I later saw that she had an etsy shop but cannot remember what the name is or if she still has it. Maybe someone will remember.

Hers was the first lip balm base that I tried, and I started making my own after learning she was closing. I think that AH/RE has at least one or two of her former lip balm bases.

  6. Yes, I do. They are stainless steel attachments and bowls, so I see no reason why a good washing isn't sufficient. I normally wash by hand and then in the dishwasher.

If someone can show me some scientific evidence why this would be dangerous, I'm open to it.

  7. I have one KA, one set of bowls and attachments, and use them all for both body butters and food. I wash the stuff thoroughly after use.

I have no reason to use mine for soaping, and there is nothing in the butters that is dangerous. The stick blenders I use are a different story. Those are strictly for soaping.

    I don't cook much anyway. :rolleyes2

  8. I don't mind it now that I've tried it once lol. Will have to play with it more. What I don't like is being able to see the changes in certain numbers as I try to formulate a recipe. That part I will miss, because I don't like going back and forth from page to page. I'd rather it were in front of me.

    My thoughts exactly.

  9. Thanks, all. My website, sadly, is still a "work in progress" after 2+ years. I've had to start working full time again after retirement due to the bank crashes (my income gone). I suck at photos and had planned to get some professional ones done and haven't been able to swing it yet.

  10. Taxes are probably the main reason I don't order more from Tony's. They aren't that far from me but you have to pay GA Tax. If you have it shipped the shipping UPS in state is more or as much for shipping out of state. I really prefer getting orders UPS because in a small town like mine you have to go to the post office and I try not to leave the house/shop no more than I have to! But they have some really good oils of the ones I have tried and they are very nice to work with. I have talked with them in the past and they were very helpful.

I have this same problem with ordering from AH/RE
