  8. Not sure if I saw www.Candlechem.com on there, if not, well, here it is!
  9. Just bought this to try and make votives with...wondering if anyone has used it before, and how well it has worked for them as far as ease of use, additives, coloring, FO's, etc.
  10. I found all the ingredients necessary to try and make this since I've seen a lot of comments on how great it is and want to try it for myself, but what is IPM? I've only found a description of it as Isopropyl Myristate and was wondering if that's the right stuff.
  11. We have started with 12 ourselves but was wondering how many you started with and how many do you have now?
  12. The Hyacinth Chula Orchid bar looks like mother of pearl to me, kind of a shimmering look there. Nice looking soaps!
  13. Looks good enough to eat! Came out very nice, I bet it feels great too! I have yet to try making a body butter, but yours looks great!
  14. Great looking soaps, they came out fantastic!!!
  15. I'm a tea person myself also, but once in a while slip in an occasional iced coffee especially now that it's getting hotter out. Nice looking soap, came out wonderful!
  16. Just to stir the pot a little here, what categories/headings would/did you put in your business plan? I'm getting set to write mine(found a word template for bus. plans on microsoft website for free)and basically the categories I have listed are: -Executive Summary -General Company Description -Products/Services -Marketing Plan -Operational Plan -Management and Organization -Personal Financial Statement -Startup Expense and Capitilization -Financial Plan The above can also be modified for retail businesses to include the following categories: -Company Image -Pricing -Inventory -Customer Service Policies -Location -Promotion -Credit If you have Word, check out microsoft.com under the office header and go to the business template section. The template is Business Plan for Startup Businesses. Hope this helps a little.
  17. In NY if you get a sales tax id you have to do your sales tax calculations and forms quarterly up to a certain amount in sales. For example, for my other business, I was doing less than the amount the state requirement for filing quarterly, so I was able to file yearly. Don't know how it is in other states with sales tax. Federal taxes I did every year before April 15th as usual.
  18. Thanks so much for the help everyone! You gave me the info I needed!
  19. Does anyone know of any recipes for a dog or pet safe shampoo and/or conditioner? I'd like to make a nice all natural liquid shampoo/conditioner for my golden retriever, but can only find the recipe for the shampoo bar. Thanks!
  20. I don't know about the candles making it down south, but I can tell you from working in a warehouse and going inside UPS trucks in the summer, that it can get very hot in there.
  21. I'm just too lazy to answer this question myself, and wondered if anyone out there has actually counted how many drops are in a 10z bottle of EO/FO?
  22. Look nice! I agree with the snowball comment.
  23. Same here, you file for a DBA(doing business as which is the name of your company) with the county clerk, and then you file for a sales tax id# which in NY has to be done 20 days before you start doing business. Sales tax of course only has to be collected from people who are in the same state as you, so for me, I collect from customers who are in NY and buy my products. I'm very jealous of you guys who pay less than $100 for your business certificate. When I filed mine, I think it cost $125!!!
  24. Happy Memorial day to all, This weekend I'll be testing out the new scents that arrived yesterday, as well as the wicks that came in, other than that, cleaning up the front yard and doing some shopping on Sunday! Maybe I'll pull out the BBQ for a steak or burgers or something, we'll see!
  25. Just wondering if anyone has ever used the scents from Candle Chem before in their soy or paraffin candles, and if so, how have they worked in your opinion? Btw, just wanted to thank everyone who responded to my votive mold question, and for turning me on to Candle Chem...you saved me some money!
