  1. if "sealing" is what she wants, how about just putting those perforated shrink bands around the lids so the customer has to pull that off after purchase. I would think that would be way cheaper than bags or boxes.
  2. I'd have to do some digging, but I think I got info from them a long time ago too and decided it just wasn't cheaper. I can get soap base closer for the same price or less and the molds are ones that I either already have or just don't want. If you're planning to buy the stuff to resell, then it might be worth it, but I don't remember it being much of a "deal" for use. Depending on what mold you're after, try looking on Ebay. When I was still using plastic molds like theirs, I bought many on Ebay for about the same price they've listed for wholesale ($1.50 or less). Hobby Lobby is a good source too when they run their 50% off, or Michael's when you use the 40% off coupon!
  3. I never charged a set up fee, but I did set a minimum purchase (by quantity, not dollars). However ~ the very first company I ever worked with to sell my products set me up as a drop shipper ( I had never heard the term before that ) and she did charge me a "set-up" fee. The fee covered her time to load my pictures, descriptions, etc. Seems crappy to me now, but that's many years later (and I no longer drop ship at all, nor do I use drop shippers). They had a change of heart or something though, because I learned later that they stopped charging that fee ~ probably because they wanted to add products and were soliciting crafters instead of just fielding requests from crafters to add products to that site. Just curious .... what is your reason behind wanting to charge a fee?
  4. On their site they only show the 25 lb. blocks for "bulk" purchase. I looked for the melters, but didn't see them. What's the item number, maybe I can search by that. If you can buy soap for $0.55 lb. then I want a ton of it because that's way less than what I'm paying!!
  5. ok, here's my stab ... I wish I had pictures though because I'm not sure I can describe what I see in my mind!! Name: Evergreen & Emerald (or vise versa) now here's the tricky part ... the logo would be 2 fancy scripted capitol E with the & symbol in the middle. One of the E's (the 2nd one) would be backward so the whole thing formed an image like a butterfly. ( E&E ~ that 2nd one being flipped) The slogan would be something to the affect of: Take your senses to new heights (referring to the butterfly flying over the evergreens/pine trees)
  6. me too ~ but I don't do candles, so I'm not feeling some of the pressures that you guys are feeling (wax increases, craft shows, etc.). I'm just burnt out and ready for something new! I've been slowing selling off stuff that I don't want to mess with anymore and as soon as we get our taxes done we're going to have our accountant put together a proposal to sell the business. I'm already looking forward to getting it sold and having 1 less JOB to do!!!
  7. looks like the start of a new line .... Fruits of the Spirit
  8. Nuthouse is hilarious! Nutcracker is the only other "nut" thing that comes to mind.
  9. I suggest "Shine On" too bad you can't legally reference a song, but this is perfect: Mercy Me If we're to be the light That shines for all of man Then how can we light the way If we don't go to them I believe to know God's heart Is to meet them where they are Won't you shine on Won't you shine on You can shine on Shine on In all that's said and done And everything you do Just let your life glorify The one who shines on you I believe we worship Christ When we show the world His light Won't you shine on Won't you shine on You can shine on Shine on Shine on Shine on Won't you shine on Won't you shine on You can shine on Shine on Won't you shine on Won't you shine on You can shine on Shine on
  10. gee, if I had only known you were looking for one, I would have made you a great deal on the C3400 that we bought last year LOL. I insisted on having one for doing favor tags and then I decided favor tags simply annoyed me too much and took too much time to cut and assemble so I no longer offer them. So this rather expensive printer just sits ..... :undecided seriously though, I was amazed at truly how much better the laser was over the ink jets we've always used. I didn't believe it would be "that much" different, but I was so wrong ~ it prints beautifully, you'll love it!!
  11. not sure where you could get that, but if you don't find it, consider having a stamp made so that you could just stamp that (in whatever font you like!) into your soaps
  12. I would be hard pressed to believe that they could promise you 30 orders a day ~ especially with 10 pages of candles and candle accessories. Everyone has a different opinion about drop shipping, but mine is that I would not recommend it, and I say that from experience. I did it, and for a large company, and for a long time, and will never, ever do it again. I took a huge hit financially when I through in the towel on drop shipping, but I "make" more now (margin) selling retail directly on my own. Chris is right on the nose ... many will want to pay you once a month, and it's usually the 15th of the month after (so ship in Jan, get paid for Jan. orders on Feb. 15th). Not a big deal after you're in it, but those first 2 months are nothing but money going out. I didn't like that I had to ship packages with "the company's" info packed inside and their address on the label. I wanted MY name associated with my products, especially on my unique/niche items. The up side ... no bounced checks, no CC charge backs, no dealing directly with the customer, so if that is more your cup of tea, then you'd love drop shipping!
  13. if it's a "listed" number, you can type it into Google and it will bring up the name and address. So many people are now "unlisted" though and/or use cell phones that many times the reverse look-up doesn't find any info for you. I've never had anybody call me to do drop shipping though, they always email and ask if I will and then we go from there. It could be legit though.
  14. Pay Pal phone number is 1-888-221-1161
  15. unfortunately, that's probably right. If you went to USPS online and punched in the weight and destination, then you're on the right track. My orders generally average around $34 - $35 to ship, but 14 jars would be heavier than my soaps! I used to ship alot to England, but with the rate hikes it's hard to make it worth it for them to buy On the up side ... the paperwork & label are easy to do if you're already familiar with the online system. It walks you right through it, and you just print it and take it to the counter already done!
  16. Have you tried JKM? (jkmribbon.com) I used to buy tons of stuff from them. You have to set up an account, but I don't remember the minimum being very high. I never had a problem needing more than the minimum!
  17. You can ship "Global Priority Mail" ~ it's easy
  18. Definitely check up on it, but it *could* be legit. Our church has a partner church in Ghana and we have a missions team that goes there 1-2 times a year, so I wouldn't assume just based on that alone that it's a scam. Our missions leader has access to the church's credit card, so for example if he were to place an order with you, HIS name wouldn't match the CC info. As I said though, definitely check on it though. Best wishes ~ I hope it's a legit sale for you!!!
  19. came right up for me ~ are you sure you're typing in the right URL (without the S on farms)? http://www.snowdriftfarm.com/
  20. you can mix bases ~ we do it all the time!! You can mix clear & white ~ specialty bases (like the ones you've listed), you can mix 2 brands of basic white ... just all depends on what you hope to achieve and what the end result is. Take good notes, so when you get what you're looking for, you can re-create it M&P is very forgiving, so if you're not happen with your blend, don't toss it out ~ you can still add other stuff!
  21. I choose to do only M&P because of my niche ~ the "shapes" ... fun colors, designs, etc. I wouldn't have that versatility with HP or CP. Just depends on what you want to do ~ there's a market for all!
  22. just guessing since I don't actually do this to mine, but it probably makes it shiny. In my experience, the sweating has to do with climate ... if the soap it too dry (overheated or re-heated) it will sweat, it the outside air is too humid, it will sweat, or I've also had "cold" soap sweat when brought into a different room. Different areas of the country have different experiences, so others may not have had my same experience ....
  23. We love Quillows! I always make 1 side fleece and the other side cotton. One year I made one for each family of our brothers/sisters and then 2 fleece throw pillows to match. That was 2 or 3 kids ago though ~ no time anymore to be that adventurous LOL
  24. ok, so now I have what is probably a dumb question for make-up experts, but being that I don't wear much, I don't know What would be the difference between using a darker mineral foundation and using a bronzer? I used to "tan" alot, and I'm trying to break myself of the habit, but I like having some color, so I need an alternative!
  25. does this shimmer? (possibly not the right word) I have bought 2 different types of pressed/powder bronzers and both made me "sparkly", which I do NOT want. I would love to find something that just gives me a little more color without the glittery/shimmery/sparkly feel/look.
