  1. Thank you for the great info! I'll check out the 3 that were mentioned and let you know what I find out.
  2. Yes, it is a giant store with different vendors' booths, and the products pretty much sell themselves. I do know that a couple of people go up a couple of times a week and pass out samples of their products. Any suggestions on how I could make "samples" of candles to "give" out??
  3. I am looking for a Honey Almond type of FO...any suggestions on a supplier or a FO that is similar?? Thanks
  4. I use Brighterscents....Sorry I didn't mention the name. They seem to be good, but like I said, I don't know of any others. Thanks for the quick responses!
  5. I just opened a booth at a Craft Mall this past Sat. I only rented a small corner section until I see how well my candles do. I went back on Monday to check on them and nothing had sold yet. I don't want a big let down. Should I keep making my stock and just wait more time, should I swap candles out ever so often???? Please help! This is the only place I sell them (other than word of mouth). I have been making candles for over a year and word of mouth has kept me busy with them, but I finally decided to take "that" step forward, and now I'm scared I might have made a bad decision. I have a 6 mo. contract with them, so I have to keep it. They only take 5% of total sales and I don't have to do anything except make and display the candles. Also, any suggestions for packaging? I use cello bags tied with ribbons to match the candle. Thank You! Charity
  6. When I first started making candles, I researched for months and months before I actually made the first one. I found a site that gave suggestions on making the "whipped" topping look, and it suggested using a tbs. of corn starch in the wax before whipping. I made the candle and it looked great. I have not made any in a while that needed the "topping" and then received a couple of orders for some. Needless to say, they have turned out gross! Just last night I found a site that didn't say anything about cornstarch and just suggested whipping the wax when it has started cooling. Any suggestions on this? I don't know why it would turn out okay once and then not the next two times I tried it??? Thanks so much for the help! Charity
  7. I am new to this forum (God knows I wish I'd found it a year ago!) and have learned so much already. I have been purchasing my FO's from the same supplier since I started making candles, however, I never see them mentioned in any discussions and am wondering if I could be doing so much better. I originally started using them because of the variety of choices. I did buy a couple from a local supplier once when I went down to pick up wicks, but was unhappy with the throw. I went right back to the original one. The (main) reason I still buy from them (other that not know anything about any others) is because they have great deals!! Please let me know of some great FO suppliers! I'm open to change and would love to hear of other suppliers. Thanks so much! Charity
