  1. I am so glad you liked the scent.. it is very special to me for sure.. please let me know if you ever CP it.. if you need a couple of ounces to try it.. I will be happy to send it out to you! Thanks! Teri
  2. I am not sure if you can tell from these pics, but the logo in the back is an embossed silver stamp that the black writing is on top of. I understand what you are saying, but as I look at them in person the black script stands out. Hope this makes sense.. I went back to "re-look" at the pics.. I can see what you mean.. but.. the bright embossed silver logo completely stands out when you see the label in person. That is why I decided to put the black script on top of the embossed silver stamping. It makes the label "pop"..lol I have told the company that I wanted the font bolder so that is not so fine. I think this will help make the script easier to read. THanks for the suggestions!
  3. Thank you so much.. I really appreciate all the nice comments!
  4. Yes.. I tried shrink wrapping and just plain plastic.
  5. Your soap looks great! Good Job! I just love how CP looks so thick and chunky!
  6. I just posted pics of my candles with my labels and the information of the company that made them.. you would be very happy with them.. HTH Teri
  7. I love how the plastic makes 'dem balls shine!!! LOL! Thanks!
  8. I have to tell you about www.printmythings.com (Century Labels) They are the bomb at making labels. I attempted to do my own.. would have saved some money, but since I wanted something classy and elegant.. they really came through and with the best prices I could find. They are embossed with the silver and that was the look I was trying to find. Just give them a call and ask for samples to look at.. I think I paid about $324 for 1000.. and that is only because I just got the 1000.. The price goes down drastically for every additonal thousand you purchase. This may sound like a lot of money, but there was no way that I could achieve this look with any kind of printer. They have been worth every penny based on customer reviews! I got samples from a lot of companies, but their prices were outrageous. The customer service is UNREAL!! Thanks for the kind comments.
  9. You were my Secret Santa that sent me the great BEVELED soap that I fell in love with!!!
  10. LaVida.. I have been wanting to order a stamp from them.. Do you just call and send them your artwork.. or what? I currently am stamping my soaps with my name, but my logo would be so much better! Thanks for any information! Teri

  18. SLSA.. If I decide to make some of my products using slsa, I will need a supplier on west coast. Does anyone have a chemical supplier that will sell in bulk.. it is too expensive buying it in such small quantities from the Chemistry store or the Sage... not to mention the shipping.. Thanks! Teri
  19. Go to the soap makers guild website.. they offer it for around $500 or so a year.. it covers bath and body and candles. Cheapest price around! If you can't find it.. pm me and I will look up the website for you.. you should be able to google it.. HTH Teri
  20. Here is the recipe you are looking to make.. it is from www.lotioncrafter.com Body Butter Bliss If you've been wanting to duplicate the feel of The Body Shop's Body Butter look no further! Our Body Butter Bliss is a luscious and stable emulsified butter which offers a rich emolliency with a quick, greaseless dry down and long lasting hydration for the skin. Made with shea butter and tocopherol-rich rice bran oil, along with glycerin for added humectancy and dimethicone for its skin protectant properties, this body butter will prove to be a real customer pleaser! Percent Grams Ounces Ingredient Phase A 58.1 581 19.37 Distilled Water 0.2 2 0.07 Xanthan Gum 3.0 30 1.00 Glycerin 0.2 2 0.07 Tetrasodium EDTA Phase B 3.5 35 1.17 Lotionpro 165 8.0 80 2.67 Rice Bran Oil 4.0 40 1.33 Lotioncrafter FCO 12.0 120 4.00 Shea Butter Refined 2.0 20 0.67 Cetearyl Alcohol 2.0 20 0.67 Behenyl Alcohol 0.7 7 0.23 CoviOx T-50 0.8 8 0.27 Phenonip 2.0 20 0.67 Dimethicone 350 Phase C 3.0 30 1.00 Lotioncrafter LC8515 or LC995 0.5 5 0.17 Fragrance (adjust to suit) Phase D Q.S. Q.S. Q.S. Citric Acid (20% Solution) 1. Pour Phase A distilled water into a tall mixing vessel. Using an immersion (stick) blender, create a vortex and add the xanthan gum. Once mixed in, add the balance of Phase A ingredients with stirring. Heat Phase A to 176°F and hold while Phase B is heating. 2. Combine and heat Phase B ingredients to 176°F and remove from heat. Gently stir the oils and waxes to combine. 3. Insert an immersion (stick) blender into the Phase B mixing vessel, keeping it near the bottom. Pour Phase A (water phase) into Phase B (oil phase) while mixing and blend thoroughly. 4. Stop blending briefly. Place mixing vessel into a cold water bath (in sink or another pot). Immediately resume blending. If your stick blender has a variable speed, it can be turned down to "medium". Mix until temperature is approximately 129°F. or less. This should only take about 3-5 minutes. Remove from water and place mixing vessel on counter. 5. While blending with stick blender, slowly add Phase C ingredients into your emulsion mixing well after each addition. Continue to mix with stick blender until mixture is uniform. 6. Test the pH of your emulsion. Adjust with citric acid as necessary to a final pH of 7.0. 7. Check the weight of your batch to make sure you still have 1000 grams (33.33 ounces), add more distilled water if needed to replace what may have evaporated. 8. Continue mixing until emulsion has cooled to 120°F or less. Pour into containers. Makes approximately 1000 grams or 33.33 ounces of lotion. Notes: Q.S. is an abbreviation for the Latin quantum sufficiat, quantum sufficit, or quantum satis, phrases which all mean "as much as suffices" or "quantity required." Formulation has passed five cycles of freeze-thaw stability testing. It is easier to adjust the pH of an emulsion using citric acid if a citric acid solution rather than granules are used. You can make a 20% stock solution of citric acid by combining 20 grams of citric acid with 80 grams of distilled water. Pour into a bottle, cap and shake to mix. Label this "20% Citric Acid Solution". Using a pipette, add a few drops at a time to your emulsion, mix thoroughly and check the pH. Add more, a few drops at a time, until the desired pH of the final product is obtained.
