  1. that would be much simpler if it was just one code per *product*.
  2. so, to make sure i understand...one code per product, but each scent does not need it's own code, correct?
  3. on these barcodes...when you say you need 5 codes...is that 1 code per product or 1 code per scent? i am thinking of contacting our local wholefoods with three different products. would i need 3 codes, one for each product? or would each scent of each type of product need a different barcode? so i offered 3 scents of each product, would that be a total of nine different barcodes?
  4. i love these tart burners...i hope there is a co-op again on them. i have tried to find them online and can't.
  5. stearic is only needed if you want a thicker lotion...you can thicken lotion/cream by using hard butters as well...another thought is that www.theherbarie.com carries several natural emulsifiers...HTH!
  6. i noticed this with their olive oil wax. i was alarmed at first and blew it out right away...but then i just left it burn...it only lasted a few seconds and then went on to burn fine. i was using the same wick that i use in my soy.
  7. i think the shipping was over $20 to ship these to me from Fillmore. they don't feel espcially heavy to me when i lifted the box. but then i only got 12 to try out.
  8. just thought i'd add about my pic...when i looked at it again, it looks as tho there is soot....it's just the picture...there is no soot on the jar.
  9. i lit my studio jar today and thought i'd snap a pic of how well it burns. this is 100% soy (EZsoy). ETA: this is a 20oz jar. kimmeroo...i just saw your question, when i posted this pic...i use ECO wicks.
  10. remember it is only used at a max of .5%, tho
  11. that's great!! very helpful, thanks! also, i have read that the cosmocil works better with a "helper" preservative like potassium sorbate...have you had any problem using the cosmocil alone?
  12. woohoo! i get my cosmocil today...can't wait!! edited to add: kristy, would it be possible to see this recipe in %'s? it's all greek to me if it's not in %...i can comprehend a recipe better if it's in %. if you'd rather not, i totally understand...just thought i'd ask.
  13. what you are experincing sounds pretty close, if not exactly what i was. isn't it strange? and like you said, it's not a cold weather thing...this is not my first winter using this wax....i have never had "seasonal" changes with my candles... my replacement case of wax is "better" but still what i have been used to in the past...it just *boggles* my mind that in Dec my candles were perfect...jan...not so much...how can things change so severely?? it's just not something i am used to...my candles have been sooo well behaved, it's just so odd to me. islandgirl...no, i have not heard from BCN...i may email them soon if i don't hear anything.
  14. http://www.lipbalmtubes.com/Natural-Lip-Balm-Base-A-pr-58.html there it is...
  15. hi, kristy...this recipe finally intrigued me enough that i just placed an order at SDF for the cosmocil. thanks for sharing it!
  16. that's a lot of oil! i would not go past 35% and the lanolin wouldn't need to be used past 2% or so...a little of that goes a long way...also what's keeping your emulsion together? beeswax won't do it, you need an emulsifier...and that is a really high % of essential oils...wouldn't go above 1-2% on those...and it will grow mold/bacteria unless you keep it in the frdge.
  17. i just began using this jar! i love them as do my customers! i use 100% soy...they burn beautifully!! got my wicking right on the first try!! i was shocked by that!!
  18. Rich from BCN has been very accomodating in resolving this issue. i am getting a new case of wax on monday and returning the old one for them to have tested. GourmetSoy...thank you for your suggestions....i'm fairly certain it isn't a weather issue. i stuck the biggest wick i had (ECO14) into my 2.5" diameter jar....this wick should act like a torch in a jar that size....with this wick, it took nearly 12 hrs to reach a FMP in a candle with a tried and true scent and one candle never did attain a FMP. also, i have never had issues with weather in the past, thankfully.
  19. i don't use a blend...but i am wondering if i got some sort of blend. the box is the same as i always get, but i really think it contains the wrong wax....the weather has never affected my candles in the past....
  20. so i have been using EZsoy since the inception of my candle making. i get my wicking down fairly quickly...as candle testing goes.... and have been using the same wick, same jars, varying frag loads for over a year. have become rather known for my great burning candles amongst friends and family. so i am pouring several potential spring scents...let them cure...decided it's time to test them...hmmm...the wax seems to be burning differently....now i tell myself, it's b/c they are new FO's, don't freak out...let's try a bigger wick...ok...still isn't seeming to burn "normally". so i fire up a tried and true. sure enough it's not burning "right" either...burning verrrry slow. i have always thought this latest batch of wax i got looked different...had a different texture...set up different....ect. so i decide to call up tech support. very nice lady, very helpful....she tells me i am using too small of a wick ...i say, but i have been using this wick, in this jar, with this wax for over a year and have always had great bruning candles...she basically says i was lucky and that i probably need a different wick...gave me great suggestions and helpful advice. but dang! how can they just "stop working"??? oh, and i have been using LESS fragrance than i had been, so i am even MORE baffled that they are burning so slow. soooo, i order her suggestions...but what am i to do with the $80+ worth of this brand that i have, in all sizes???? i am just dumbfounded..... another thing...when this wax cools from having ben hot....it gets a smooth glassy top...previous wax has had horrible tops if it get hot...like when i changed the wicks and then zapped the tops till there was a good sized melt pool...previous wax would get a funky top from that...this wax just gets smooth and shiny looking. i realize that wax can change from batch to batch...but so much to have to go thru the whole testing process agian?? the tech support lady didn't really even entertain the idea that it could be a bad batch other than to say that soy can vary from batch to batch...which i understand, but vary THIS MUCH??? so my question is...has anyone else had any burning probs with recent (within the last month) orders of EZsoy?
  21. i have some of the olive wax from swan's...if wicked correctly, it burns just fine.
  22. i go by looks as far as when to pour...basically...once it's quite thick and slushy...i get perfect tops everyitme. no addatives.
  23. isn't it amazing the different experiences?? i have used EZsoy since the inception of my candle making. if i DON'T wait till it's thick and slushy to pour...i get aweful looking candles. and i don't warm my jars. also, regading frosting...i very rarely, if ever get frosting....if i do it's doesn't develope till the candle gets older. i'm thiking frosting may have to do with pour temp...as it seems that candles that are poured too warm are more likely to frost on me. but, yeah....frosting is nearly non-existant with my candles.
