  1. i agree...that is A LOT of CO...46 isn't very conditioning, IMO, but then i try to kep my conditioning numbers between 57-60. i would lower the CO and up the olive. i know olive is more $$ than CO, but that recipe looks it wold be terribly drying, unless you are doing a high SF.
  2. weird, i couldn't smell this FO at all in 415 a 8%.
  3. when looking at the number is soapcalc, cocoa butter always increases the creamy lather, and i do find it is so when using soap with and without cb.
  4. you know, i think once upon a time when i was scale shopping, you recommended the kd600 to me. that was a good scale. i think i replaced it with a kd7000....i think.
  5. old will knott...best scales and service....ever! http://www.oldwillknottscales.com/
  6. sometimes gently heating it after or before adding the fragrance will help it to clear.
  7. i use the colorants (dry) from tkb and get a lovely tint on my lips...have had a great response from others using it that they love the color it gives their lips.
  8. see, now i was just gonna post that i LOVE The CandleMaker's Store WVS. i think it's pretty right on the BB&W. i haven't tried a WVS for years b/c i never found i loved, but then i tried CMS's and loved it...it's surprisingly strong in 100% soy at only .75oz ppw.
  9. i'm with you...all i want/need are the coffee mug tealight warmers. the $48/case place seems the best place.
  10. i'm cool to wait...thanks for your willingness to do this....so very appreciated.
  11. please let me know if you order, all i would want is one case of coffee warmers.
  12. oh, oh, oh....i would love to order from here http://www.acandleco.com/index.cfm/fa/items.main/parentcat/1908/subcatid/0/id/267815 but there is a $250 minimum...would you want to go in on an order?
  13. do you know of any other suppliers that carry gb's 402 soy wax other than BCN and thecandlemakerstore? BCN is oos till the first of the year and TCS has very high shipping to me. if i can't find it anywhere else, i'll just get it from the candlemaker's store, but thought i check to see anyother suppliers carried it. thanks so much!!
  14. ok, i got the following: coffee break...seems weak OOB coffee caramel cream.....nice...stronger than coffee break vanilla rum cake....YUM! country vanilla......all i smell is cinnamon, not very vanilla'y to me country coconut.....very nice...i smell a little bit of a fruity note. patchouli blossom.....flowery, but not annoyingly so. nice blend of patch and floral. vanilla sugar.....nice, but kinda weak oob warm vanilla sugar....nice, pretty dead on as a bbw dupe haven't gotten any in a candle yet.
  15. hope you're happy...i just ordered 8, 1oz samples b/c of your little quote above... can't wait to try them!
  16. just my opinion, but i would save your vanilla infused oil for leave on products. i have tried using it in soap and the scent does come thru...it's just too light to survive sap. but, as far as how to infuse, you can use very low heat double boiler style.
  17. ahhh, gotcha...i didn't realize they were just end pours. that makes sense.
  18. i'm surprised you would charge less...why is that? i would think they are more time consuing to make, aren't they?
  19. just what i like...advice from a candle lover. thanks, cherie! purchase?? whatever...
  20. that's exactly what i did. i stuck a wick in a jar and i was making candles for a fundraiser, i would pour the excess into the jar. there's probably 6 or 7 different fragrance layers in there.
  21. i am currently burning a candle that is made up of the ends of several different candle pourings, so many different layers of scents. it's been fun to burn. i started out smelling creme brulee this morning and now am smelling oatmeal cookie and didn't even have to change candles. so that got me to thinking....would a layered fragrance candle sell well? would you starkly contrasting scents or similar scents? just wondering if anyone has tried this.
  22. i normally make my votives with a soy/bw blend. what sort of difference would i see if i used stearc instead of bw? can the stearic be subbed for the bw 1:1? thanks!
