  1. Thanks, guys. It's just that it was my first order, not sure what to expect. I will be relying on them a lot, I would imagine, so I was hoping to be reassured early on...lol. Thanks again!
  2. Top, you're right, I probably should have called. I may be odd, but I like email better... That's just me. But if there is a website, doesn't that negate the need to call in orders... just a thought. I did email several times, then waited, got the invoice and paypalled the money. I heard from them today and the box did ship yesterday. I just thought all the waiting for replies was a little much. Will update on whether the order was correct or not, should be here by week's end. I will again say that all the communication I did get from them was very friendly and I am excited to try their products.
  3. I have been trying for about 2 weeks, maybe longer, to get an order placed with Canwax. First, their website is very difficult to navigate and I could not get the right items in my cart. Then I emailed and waited for a reply, then emailed again. Got the details ironed out and waited for an invoice (to be fair, I DID change the order slightly twice so I take responsibility for that part of the delay). Got the invoice and was asked how I would like to pay. Emailed that info and waited for instructions. Took another 2 days to get that, paid and waited for some kind of confirmation. Emailed on Monday and asked if all was good and if the order shipped, no reply as of today. My question is, is this unusual or has anyone else had the same type of experience? I would like to add, although slow, Sandy has been very friendly and professional, it's just the time that has me bothered. I would have liked to have this stuff by now.
  4. I have the bavarian thin mint and I love it. Works well in soy, smells great. I JUST started selling tarts and this one went very quickly - sold 3 dozen of em the first day!
  5. Well, I JUST started selling a few melts to support my fragrance oil habit and I really need to test a whole bunch of new scents, not offering very many right now. I just finished an order for 6 dozen and have to pour 9 dozen more this weekend. Also pouring a few testers in my soy jars, I am only confident enough to offer 2 scents for sale right now (is that bad after pouring for over 2 months? lol). I'm thinking of trying some hawaiian ginger and honeydew melon, those are scents I would buy, so we'll see...
  6. Some cheap plastic bottles will give you trouble too. My brother and his girlfriend bought me a bunch of oils for my birthday and repackaged some of them in dollar store bottles. The cherry berry completely ate the bottle and soaked through the box. Got my present a week early... they were afraid they'd all leak.
  7. Personally, I HATE making tealights, I'm too lazy to stand around and wait for them to set a little then pop the wicks in. I like my wicked jars and my votive wick pins...lol. I prefer the LOOK of plastic, but there is the melting issue, I suppose. FYI, I ordered metal cups online, which were cheaper, but they got here a little banged up. You may need to reshape them a little. I got mine, with wicks, 100 for $8.95 (the Candle Source). Took the wicking guesswork away. I got 30 tealights using 1 pound of wax and 1 ounce of oil. One other thing, the search feature is nice, but I have found that more often than not you get pages of threads that do not relate to your topic and have to read countless posts to find one relevant answer. It's just easier to ask a question sometimes, I was under the impression that this was what this forum is for... Now, I think I'll go post a few "stupid" questions that could easily have been answered using the search feature just to piss some people off...
  8. I'm not sure about a supplier in Montreal but I feel your pain about the shipping charges. I just paid $42 to ship 50 pounds of wax and a few other small items... not ready to buy in quantities larger than that just yet.
  9. I personally don't like the look, either, but I'm sure the candle is high quality (heck, if Oprah says so...lol). I think it's wonderful that this business can command those kind of prices, if I thought I could do it I'd try as well. It's up to each individual consumer to determine what they would spend their money on and if they think $32 is reasonable for a candle, then great for the candle maker!
  10. I knew it was a mistake to come look... looks AMAZING! You always use the most tempting scents...
  11. Wow, 10 pages. Hot topic. Bella, I feel badly that your new site, in the BEGINNING stages, has been picked apart sentence by sentence. It's a shame that something that should have brought you great pride has caused such a commotion on here. I agree with a few comments made here, the grammar needs to be fixed if only to make everything more professional, and if something isn't true then obviously it needs to be removed. Your customers need to know exactly what they're buying, absolutely, and if you feel that you're clear about that then that should be enough. I think that this whole thing has gotten way out of control. My suggestion is to state the benefits of a soy BLENDED candle, which I assume still burns longer and cleaner, and avoid the whole soy / paraffin debate. (As a sidenote, I use both so I'm on neither side of the argument, I think much of it is hype anyway). There are some soy facts that can still be stated if it's a blend, right? My other suggestion is to remember that it's YOUR business and these are all just OPINIONS. Do with them as you choose and keep everything you're comfortable with. And still be proud of your website AND your logo, everything looks great.
  12. From the Candle Source website: Monkey Farts - tropical Banana with a hint of coconut and grapefruit
  13. Just a thought: you never really know how many Father's Days YOU or your son have in you, either. My mom and I have periodical "fallings out" and don't talk for months, I know the cycle. I would never put my daughter through what it feels like to know for certain that your Mother doesn't give a crap about you, no matter what she did. Is he at all worth the effort to fix this? None of my business, I know, just would hate to see you regret wasted time...
  14. I like the site. Fix the minor imperfections to your liking and there you go! Hope it's very successful for you.
  15. Since I have had interest in my "scented melts" I will be testing out a bunch of fo's in my soy, see what works and what I might need to use paraffin for. I found cute little chutney cups at the local dollar store, 5 for $1 and they make very nice one ounce melts. I'm wanting to try my wild cherry, pear and berries and kahlua and cream. Made some butterscotch vanilla last night and melted one this morning, already giving good throw. Skye's birthday party is tomorrow so today I am baking dog bone cookies and then decorating the building and setting up tonight. Tomorrow it's pick up the cake, make sandwiches and have the party. I'm very excited! Guess I'll me making melts on Sunday... lol.
  16. Haven't tried any of them, but they'll probably smell much different (hopefully better) in wax...
  17. I've only been here a while, but I've learned to look for your posts. I especially liked the 4 wick candle, my fave by far. You're candles are always... interesting...lol.
  18. Vanilla walnut. Made me sick pouring it, but it has mellowed in the wax and is actually quite nice now.
