  1. So unnecessary. Personally, I think it's much more stupid to ignore the question and waste your time typing a useless and demeaning reply, but that's just me.
  2. Got it all fixed. The delay was frustrating, but I have to commend this supplier for their promptness in fixing errors. Such a friendly lady to deal with.
  3. I got the tracking email late last night, after they were already closed, so I replied to the email and will be following up as soon as they open today. Is it really that easy? I certainly hope so...
  4. OK, so after trying for a week with 3 emails to get a shipping quote and finally getting an order placed and paid for last Wednesday, I find out today that the company overlooked my payment notification email and didn't ship the order after all. Talk to the owner, she's VERY friendly, just a great lady, very apologetic and just plain sweet. Mix up fixed, order is being shipped, will get here Monday (I needed the wax yesterday). So I get the shipment tracking info and the address is wrong! Somehow "Three Rock Cove" is replaced with "Black Duck", everything else is fine, even the postal code. But the boxes are shipped UPS, so I'm not sure they'll find this tiny little community and get my boxes here. I'm now worried that the boxes will go back to the supplier and hence another delay. I have two orders for melts that should have been done by today (if the wax had been shipped last Wednesday when it was paid) and I told the customers these orders would now be finished by Tuesday. Now they may not. I am just now getting enough orders to make larger wax orders feasible and this happens, I run out of wax thinking I would have more in time. So frustrating... Just worried that the customers will get fed up and stop buying, I have a very small customer base and I need them all... I did promise a few free melts in the delayed orders, maybe that will help...
  5. I have Tickle Me Pink from JS. You can find it in the discontinued fragrance list, I think for $9.95 (16 oz).
  6. Working on a gift basket for a baby shower - all scented baby powder, of course. Got a ton of melts to pour up. Maybe testing a few more fall scents. So far, so good.
  7. Thank you for the replies, I think I may need a bigger bag...
  8. Looking for cello bags, what can I fit in a 4X6 flat? How many (if any) melts, votives, tealights? All standard sizes. Thanks!
  9. I don't think it's too much to expect that they read the comments and, if at all possible, abide by them. Especially if it wasn't clearly stated which oils were not on sale. Hopefully if you contact them they'll make it right.
  10. Just my opinions here, what I would buy / sell. Fall: Some kind of spiced apple Some cranberry An outdoor smell, like Autumn Leaves Jack O Lantern or Candy Corn for Halloween Winter: A Christmas blend Christmas Tree Candy Cane Sugar Cookie Ano outdoor smell, like Winter Spring: Florals "Clean" smells Spring Rain Summer: Florals Fruit Ocean or beachy smell Coconut I'm sure there are a million more, these are my personal faves.
  11. Those are not real complaints, sounds like whining to me. "This candle is not as strong as the other one"? Well, naturally, they're totally different scents! As for some money off, you did say a 16oz jar for $8.00, right?? I think she already got her discount...
  12. "I purchased an alluminum pouring pot at the craft store. It seems a bit thin is this ok? Also I have seen two different versions of the double boiler method, one using a real double boiler (two pots) and another using the pouring pot sitting directly in the pot with water. Doesnt this make it more of a direct heat method? The bottom of the pouring pot touches the pot thats on the stove? I picked up a cookie cutter to put in between, but I still have some silly newbie worries of the pouring pot/cookie cutter melting somehow." I use a rim from a mason jar lid in a pot for my double boiler. Been working well for 3 and half months... I'm still playing with getting the right wicks myself. I tried the HTPs in my soy conatiners and I don't like the way it bends, leaves a lot of hangup on one side of the jar and it doesn't catch up until halfway down. I also hate zinc, but I know a LOT of people use and love them. Not sure if CDs are made for soy, but I like them. I don't care about being all natural (I use paraffin for tealights and votives) I just like the ease of use (flakes) and the easy clean up with soy. As for safety, seems like you're off to a great start with the research and you're worry about it...lol. I made some pretty dumb newbie mistakes as far as wicking goes and though I know now the candles weren't completely safe I didn't have any accidents with them. I even fell asleep one night with one burning and it was fine when I woke up (I am NOT making excuses, NEVER leave a candle burning all night, obviously - it was not on purpose!). All I can say is test, test, test. Good luck with everything! And if all else fails, make tarts! LOL
  13. Nature's Garden shipped USPS to Canada for me and charged actual shipping...
  14. Making a gift basket for a wedding on Saturday (DHs cousin), need to make some melts, tealights, votives and a nice jar. Have the basket, melter and votive holder ready to go. It's such a sad story, they have been planning this wedding for over a year and last Friday, 8 days before the wedding, the grooms father was killed suddenly in a motorcycle accident. They have decided to go ahead with the ceremony, knowing the Dad would have wanted it for them. Not going to be a very festive day, I'm afraid, but I admire them for being so strong...
  15. Thanks! I was leaning toward the cranberry cobbler and apples and oak. I may go ahead and order two apple scents, though, I personally LOVE apple...
  16. OK, trying to decide between the following for fall, all from Nature's Garden. I want one apple and one cranberry: Apple Cinnamon Apple Crisp Apple jack peel Apple Orchard Apples and Oak Country Apple Cranberry Balsam Cranberry Cobbler Cranberry Relish Spiced Cranberry Any others from different suppliers I might consider?
  17. THANK YOU!! I JUST got one of these, $379 to Vulcan Tire, ship to Kelly J Harris in the US. Checked my account, no transaction record. Good thing you mentioned this, I may have clicked the link.
  18. Vicky, I have to agree, that looks like it was torched or something. No way it was just leftover wax.
  19. First of all, sounds like you have a very good wife and that you appreciate that fact. Good for you!! Next, I think your candles look really great. I know squat about pillars (they scare me) so I have no input on the burns...lol. Most importantly, you are obviously VERY serious about testing and you are doing a very thorough job, which is just GREAT! Those candles will be beautiful AND safe. Very nice work.
  20. Thanksgiving? Thanksgiving Dinner? I don't know, I suck at this.
  21. Melts, melts and more melts. Testing, testing and more testing... Have to do some fairy dust in tealights, too, not sure why I agreed to that, I hate tealights.
  22. Anyone tried Clausberry? The description sounds amazing: A cherry vanilla blend mixed with holiday berries <B><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 24pt; COLOR: blue; FONT-FAMILY: BalloonEFExtraBold">
  23. Now that I have sold a few melts I can better chime in here. From my supply of oils, which includes about 30 that I offer for sale: Customers (mainly close friends, I am not a booming business...lol): Cherry Berry Hawaiian White Ginger Orange Dreamsicle Monkey Farts Mango Papaya Mine: Cherry Berry Glo (haven't offered this to sell, it's MINE) Pear & Berries Coconut Cream Angel Wings
  24. Yep, her vacation starts today. I started my communication with them some time ago. I feel badly now, this is obviously a very good supplier and I was in no way trying to bash anyone. I was just wondering what everyone else's experiences were...
