  1. I love it! I spent so much time reading and laughing my behind off. Great job and good luck. Love the bastard bears.
  2. Thank you for more nice words. E: Since I don't own any soap dye, funky suggested paprika.
  3. Thank you everyone for the kind words. The round ones are scented pleasures and the other is lavander (gag). Funky? What do you mean what I come up with next. lol j/k For those that want to make it: Do it! It's easier than it looks and it's addicting. Wear goggles and all that stuff and you're fine. Thank you again.
  4. I finally took the plunge after months of trying to get up the nerve. Lye scared the crap out of me but once I tried CP it's not scary at all. I would like to thanks those that helped me out while I was getting the nerve up. E for putting up with my questions months ago and Funky munkey for giving me the kick in the ass to do it, plus dealing with my "blond" moments. I feel like I'm doing an awards show. lol So on to my soaps. Nothing fancy, but it's a start. Don't fear the lye. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b203/sweetcheekys/100_1070.jpg
  5. I finally get what it's like to be trapped. I made my first batch saturday and my second yesterday. Wanted to do some today but didn't have the time. And I have a certain monkey to thank for me getting trapped. lol
  6. I believe one was deleted due to a....ummm...caca word? lol
  7. That's like asking a magician to reveal their secrets. lol It was a good try though.
  8. At the top of this catergory is a sticky titled: Helpful Links For Newbies. You will find supplier abbreviations as well as some of the common abbreviations for other things like FO, oob, etc. hth Oh and butterfly? I'm starting to feel like I'm following you tonight. lol
  9. http://www.mybestscentedcandles.com/site/1588821/page/813832 The top of the page were they describe the candles.
  10. "Shimmering swirls of gold are spun into rich hues, creating a delicate web of color inside a blown glass globe. The unique effect is achieved with an exclusive process of painting with wax."
  11. I thought of you right off before I read the whole thread. Hey I rhymed.
  12. Not an expert candle maker here but when I do pour I put wax paper under whatever I'm pouring. But then again I just checked the post again and you are doing large orders. Sooooo I guess this might be a helpful for a newbie maybie?
  13. Presto user here. Love it. I don't have a spigot on mine yet, but I don't have any problems pouring my wax into a pour pot. I think it's a matter of preference. ETA: I don't sell or make large batches yet. I think that's why not having a spigot works for me. JMO
  14. I buy disposable cups and plates just for that reason. They are disposable. Heck, I have enough normal dishes to wash to worry about how much trash I'm making. That's why I have a hubby. So he can take out the trash. lol Not trying to pick on anyone. I save the empty tubs of butter just so I don't have to worry about not getting my dishes back if I go somewhere. Hmmmm....I just went totally off the topic of this thread. Sorry. lol
  15. I was thinking fire hazard also. Maybe if it's just made for a decoration without a wick to stop the temptation for people to lite it. :undecided
  16. If you're looking for a regular candy thermometer check your local grocery store. They sell them at the Price Chopper so I would think they would other stores as well.
