Try heating your jars first. I warm my in the oven. And maybe your wick is to small for the diameter of the jar.or are you letting it burn long enough to get a full melt pool..

I am floral scent lover, and it looks like I am the only floral scent lover in this post. 😊
If I am correct, I believe best sellers of floral scents in candle industry are Lily of the Valley & ylang ylang. Maybe it's the name that makes them popular because I don't find them impressive as floral person.
My favorite floral scents are Fresh Cut Roses & Jasmine manufactured by Atlantis Aromatics in New Jersey, and I get them from their supplier "California Candle Supply". I use 464 also, so it should work well for you. I get a lot of request for Lavender, but I haven't found one that I like yet.
Thank You...I will give those a try . I made candles with sunflower fo yesterday and its just so floral, kind of disappointing. So on with the testing lol...

Usually only Vanilla candles turn yellow for me. And for some reason, Spiced Apples & Peaches. I use UV Inhibitor with any FO's with a high vanilla content.
I can think of lots that I didn't color that didn't turn yellow and didn't add UV inhibitor: Carrot Cake, Cinnamon Bun, Banana Nut Bread, Apple Cider Donut to name a few. Maybe when it's a spicy bakery scent, they don't turn yellow. (except spiced apples & peaches from FB)
Do you use the uv inhibitor in soy?..I try avoiding fo's with high vanilla.but some sound so good..

I saw a mention somewhere of using cedar, lavender and mint for repelling spiders and other bugs. While I'm sure they were meaning essential oils and herbs, would FOs in those same scents do the same thing? My storage room would sure smell good, anyway! I could put a cotton ball soaked with these on plastic can lids throughout the room. I'm trying to discourage silverfish and other such bugs.
If FOs would work, what do you think of those 3 scents combined together? Or I could put each on its separate lid.
Good question...I can't stand spiders and silverfish ewwweee..

Thank you for posting that picture! That picture lead me to discovery of new wick.
That wick in the picture turns out to be wick made by "EricX Light" of China. Even though I am not big fan of putting Chinese ingredients in my candle, I think I might try one of their wick. They have a hemp wick, which got me interest to try in my soy candle.

No problem💖 , glad I helped you...

Candle Cocoon’s is amazing but it’s been sold out for months. It’s STRONG—a little goes a long way 😬
I think CS reformulated theirs but I havent tried it so I can’t speak from experience.
If its strong I want it .lol...maybe they will have it in stock soon...

May I ask what wick you are using? I don't recall anything like yours.
I seen that pic online so I tried doing it myself, but i use cd wicks...and it wouldn't wrap nicely and stay tight like the pic

I'm not much into them either but lavender is very popular. I also like chocolate orchid from Nature's Gardens. There are a couple more that I like but I can't think of them right off the top of my head.
Thanks..maybe I will start with a lemon or vanilla lavendar ..I had this lavendar pillow mist, smelled so good but then I smelled this other lavendar spray and it wasn't so good lol..so maybe I would like a mix better..

How do you pick floral fo's for spring and summer if your not into them to much ? Eventually I would like to sell candles, so its hard for me to pick some out, like is jasmine better than lilac? Sometimes I think that some of the fo's i have ordered would smell better in soap than a candle. When i read descriptions of floral they sound like they would smell good but not sure what those types of flowers smell like. Thanks 💐

It will if you leave them in too long. Only dip them long enough to absorb the fragrance on the whole freshener and pull it out. I had a few customers that I would resoak them for.
Thanks..this is going to be a fun project

I used to use these from Bell. I loved them but just didn't have the space for them to dry. I dipped them in a dish with fragrance and dpg and hung them to dry. They do not last as long as the aroma beads.
Did the fo wrinkle the material of the air freshner

I am trying to get into more complex designs and the candle I made didn't work out at all for the most part.
I made multiple mistakes during the process of making my candle.
Decided I would share anyways. My candle didn't work out properly for the most part. I know I messed up making the candle. It's not the worlds worse candle though I figure myself.
The top turned out fine, but it was the sides that I screw up on a bit.
Cool design though

I started with soy almost a year ago with all the same questions, but I'm still using it, and have come a long way, even though I'm still learning.. Soy is difficult but just like other waxes people still have some problems.Look for a wick guide to help with diameter of your jar .I use cd wick for soy 464 and they work really well..
