I have used these....I used watercolor paints and it worked well.  I remember stamping them in the past...but the ink ran a bit after applying the fragrance oil.

You may try stamping after adding the oil?  I recently ordered the football helmet blanks and painted them in team colors. Then I printed the team logo on a blank label, cut the shape of the logo and stuck it on the helmet blank.   It was pretty cool!  I did this for various teams for family members.

Thank You....they seem so easy and inexpensive..I'm going to give them a try...

  2. So I seen these air freshener blanks on bittercreek and they say you can  paint them using diluted food coloring or stamp them  then add your fragrance..seems fun..has anyone used these? And do them come out nice

I was in Hobby Lobby and saw a lady with her friend pick up a candle with bad glass adhesion, she said ''look! this means it's loaded with oil it's going to burn really strong!''

Had to walk away to let out some giggles.

My point is, some people apparently think it's a good sign lol.

    Lol ...that's so funny

  4. I value all opinions and information... Right now I am totally dedicated in finding great scents and I'm just going to do the best I can with the other issues lol..In march will be 1 year for making candles and I definitely feel more relaxed about it ..😊

I’m sure some of you might be sick of seeing this come up (sorry, I’m only a few months into this!) I dove deep into the archives on this topic and given some of the batch inconsistencies I figured I would ask again...

I’m in MA and have a candle supply company (Candle Chem) 15 min away from me where I get my GB464. I’ve been using and only just started testing that with CD’s and ECO’s. I have gotten pretty good ct/ht in general but it’s hit or miss and I suspect I may have been over wicking so I’m trying to dial that in. I still have a lot of things to learn along the way for sure but before I get too deep down the rabbit hole of 464 I just found out I have a C3 supplier (GAC Wholesale) that is 1 hour from me.

Im sure both waxes have their pros and cons but  I’m willing to put in the work for reasonably smoothish tops and a great HT. If wicked correctly do you perceive C3 to throw better than 464? Is C3 as finicky with pour temps and ambient room temp?
My workspace gets so drafty that I literally have to jack my heat up to 74 when doing batches of 464 (poured between 135-145) or my tops are garbage. I don’t mind the extra drive or learning a new wax if it’s possible to avoid or at the very least curb some of these annoyances.

I’m not sure what else to add but I would really appreciate any and all input! 😬

I also buy from candle chem , I live about 25 minutes from there..I have only tried 464 wax for a few reasons, shipping prices are so high is one of the reasons ..And for some reason I'm just in love with 464 ..a couple of things  that helps me the most with tops is that  i pour down my wick, i wrap the jars in felt, i put fat popsicle sticks on top and cover the jars with a box (learned all this on this website) ..so if i make 4 candles 1 might have wet spots but all my tops are smooth..and for a great hot throw if the fo i used doesn't throw that strong at 8% i just move on to another fo  ..hope this helps

There are a handful of floral scents from Wellington Fragrance that I think are really nice and their Sunflower happens to be one of them.  They have a minimum order requirement, however, so there's that, but every so often I put an order together and last time I made sure to get some of their Sunflower, as well as Orchid, Sweet Grass and some others.

Does the sunflower have a sweet smell?

I’m not sure if this would help but maybe a bamboo sugarcane?  Is that the direction your headed in?

Thanks ..I have tried the bamboo sugarcane by itself , smells really good, but maybe a stand alone sugar with out other scents. I seen somewhere there is a simple sugar...  The reviews weren't the best on it though .. I might try it...

  8. This year my son planted sunflowers and for the first time I actually smelled one. It smelled soo soo good. To me it smelled like a little green then a very light floral ( which i don't care for florals) but this was so subtle and then this sweet sticky almost  dewy like smell , it was so nice. So i ordered sunflower fo from FC and it almost smells like it , but its missing that sweet scent. Does anyone know of a fo that smells dewy sweet w/o being a bakery sweet I could add to it or an actual sunflower fo that is more what I'm looking for...Thanks

To me it when I think Black Magic, I think incense, sulfer, and spice, so first FO I think of is Dragon's Blood mixed with Amish Harvest. (mind you, I have never done this mix, but in my mind I can totally smell it, and quite honestly, as soon as I get home from work, I'm going to mix these two and see what happens. In my mind it's AWESOME - LOL)

Please let us know how that smells ..seems interesting

  10. I was looking at dough ornament recipes and i would like to scent them with fragrance oils,  but a lot of recipes calls for essential oils. Can i make them with fo's instead? ..And i know you can bake or air dry them, if i did bake them would the oven forever smell like fo?

  11. I was looking on candle supplies by farmhouse and they have stuffed bears, it says for wax dipping or you can inject them (interesting) . Has anyone injected a bear?  Does the oil seep out?

I just used magenta and duo blue green mica powders on my wax melts that are soy. I was hoping glitter would show on the outside after cooling. what store online has a actual glitter that's not super fine that I could use in the bottom(ends up on the top) of my wax tarts? any suggestions would be helpful. also how much mica powder per pound should I be using... with magenta I used 1 tsp and the blue one I used half tsp...?

Mica powder goes a long way, but you can put in as much as you want because there is no wick. After your melts are have hardened you can hit the tops with a heat gun just a bit and add glitter then.
