Which? White, pink, or ruby grapefruit? Also, what colors are you using and what wax? Colors can vary with the same dye depending on the wax. Personally I would go for a pink for grapefruit.

Hi..Im using tart wax 650 from Flaming candle and dye chips/blocks and i have liquid dye from flaming/ RE. And going for a pink grapefruit. Using grapefruit and blackberry from new york scent ...smells so good, mire grapefruit than blackberry but still good.

Hello . I am new to candle tart making and I have a newbie dilemma, lol. I have read the above comments on heating the wax and adding  a FO that has a low FP will not “burn up” the HT. Here is my dilemma. I purchased a para/soy blend for making tarts and was given instructions to heat to 195, add color, then drop to 180, add scent. Well, I purchased a “jolly rancher “ scent (8oz) that had a FP of 154. I used the above instructions and there was virtually no HT when cured and used. I can’t understand for the life of me what happened. It’s like it ‘burnt off” as soon as I added it. At the time I was using 1oz / Lb of wax melted., switched to 2oz per Lb and it still had no HT. The FO was high end (pretty expensive) but I now have not one jolly rancher tarts lol. So could this have been the oil itself because it had a very strong CT? Thanks so much

Hi. I usually heat to 185 pour fo in and mix it for about 2 min and pour right away. I use 12% of fo for wax melts, 2 ounces for 1 pound of wax..hope this helps

Thanks...my kids are going back to school this month, that will give me a lot more time to try out new things, even though I'm nervous for them. Happy and worried at same time . Such as life i guess ...Thanks for the ideas 💖

Thats a great idea..so many different designs and colors to choose from. I thought about stamping the plain envelopes but this is way better.  Thank You 💐

    Hi guys!

I just ordered 20 sample scents from Indigo and I have to say I'm not too impressed. I didn't smell them all back to back (to give my nose a break) but some of them were just so faint, I know a good candlemaker doesn't judge the smell just out of the bottle, but has anyone had good experiences with their products?

Hi...yes all the scents i have ordered from indigo produce a good hot throw in wax melts, i was making  candles with 464 but no matter where i ordered fo's from never got a good ht ..

  6. Hi and welcome. This might be a tough question, everyone has different opinions and ways of doing things. There is so many different waxes, fragrance oils, suppliers. I think for me  my go to place for most fo's and my tart wax is Flamming candle, but there are a lot of other suppliers i just get a few or just 1 fo from. Its trying a lot and weeding out the ones you don't like and what works best for you.

Seems appropriate to make some Arctic Air candles on this freezing cold, snowing, wind blowing day.

But I need a name so I can sell them all year round not just in the winter.

Here is Mill Creek's scent description:  Brilliant fragrance notes of eucalyptus, spearmint, wild rose and dew fresh ferns leading to snow pines, blue jasmine magnolia and white lilies finishing with a base of white musk, balsam and sandalwood.

Right now I'm leaning toward Morning Dew.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

Morning dew sounds nice, maybe mountain air,  fresh morning, I'm so bad  with naming scents..  hope you find one

Hello, I am also new to making candles and already purchased mica powder before I knew it shouldn't be used! One of my many mistakes, but is there a way to use mica to color a candle safely, without it clogging the wick? Please let me know, I don't have any other use for all this mica I already bought! Thanks!

Not sure about the candles but mica will be better in wax melts if you make those.

Being I am new here, forgive me if this has been discussed several times. I am also new to candle making although I have made soap and b&b products for many years in the past.  I am looking to know your favorite FO suppliers for quality FOs and price. I find WSP rather pricey these days. In a thread I read here, the supplier Flaming Candle was mentioned so thinking I might try them. I did purchase 4 sample size from The Candlemakers Store  and they seem nice enough but I tend to shy away companies with no or very limited reviews - and see no reviews for anything on Keystone Candle Supply either. Your 2 cents would be great! Meanwhile I will search this forum as time allows for previous threads! TYVM!

    Hi..Rustic Escentuals is really good.
