EOFO modifier is a type of emulsifier yes. It is a surfactant product that allows oil and water to mix while remaining clear.

But not all emulsifiers are that type of EOFO modifier.

It is like saying cats are animals, but not all animals are cats.

Thanks, thats what I thought. I was reading some q and a's and was getting confused, sometimes it doesn't take much. 😆

To be on the safe side, I don’t. A fellow soap making friend had the words “smells medicinal” on her web site to describe a eucalyptus scent of soap. That triggered the first FDA inspection for some oddball reason.  Two inspectors showed up at her door, began inspecting her home facility and handed her a list of things to “fix” immediately at her operation to avoid fines and immediate shutdown.  Follow up inspection came a couple of months later, and were scheduled to be annual if no other issues found. No way no how would I wish that upon anyone. There are too many bored rabble rousers looking for entertainment.

Wow!! Thats kind of scary. Your friend must have been like what the what.. How could anyone know that. This info is really good to have. I will definitely not put anything like that on my labels.😬  Thank You.💐

  3. I seen an article saying you can put this oil directly onto the skin and face. I would eventually like to use it in a sugar scrub, but curious about it for the skin,( anti-aging). I am very unfamiliar with oils, so would like some advice. TY

I know, it’s really unfortunate because they were always fast and simple to order from. I told her they were probably super stressed out after their sample sale lol! I know I shouldn’t be like that, because they’ve never done anything personally to me. I just can’t get over how downright ugly they were to her. It’s actually really alarming some of the things that were said, especially on PayPal because PayPal can see all of that. And I love Sezzle too! Do you have PayPal? Start using the PayPal pay in 4! It’s basically the same as sezzle, and you can use it almost anywhere! I buy from WSP and Nature’s Garden with it too. I did use it for Maple Street and New York Scent even. You can use it a ton of places, so check it out for sure! Oh, and I definitely highly recommend the Sugared Apple from Maple Street! It is so good, and customers love it!

Let's hope that person got fired. I have paypal but never ever realized they have it for 4 payments. This is exciting lol definitely going to use that.  And going to check out the sugared apple. Sounds really good.. Ty 💐

A very good friend of mine reached out to their customer service after not receiving a few of the samples she ordered during the sample sale at the end of June. Customer service got extremely irate with her, to the point of calling her names and threatening her. She never once got out of line with this person, but they went all out on her. The bad part is, they didn’t even try to help her either. Just deleted her account, and left it at that. This order was well over $200, and she was missing around 10 samples. She had no way to contact them since they deleted her account, so she had to file a dispute with PayPal. The verbal tirade got so bad on there, she had to escalate it to PayPal so they could no longer talk to her. I have never had that experience with them before, but never had to use customer service either. I’ve been candle making for 20 plus years now, and have never seen a supplier get so nasty over a simple inquiry. And they were even in the wrong, because they admitted to PayPal they forgot to send the samples! When she showed me the screenshots, I was blown away by how downright nasty this person was to her. For no reason whatsoever, after a polite inquiry. I don’t do business with abusers, and I am scared to know how they treat their employees! Their fragrances are good, but they are hardly unique IMO. It took me less than a minute to find comparable, if not better, replacements for my sellers by them. Just this one I haven’t looked around much for. Hopefully you never need customer service, or if you do; I hope you don’t get “Sam”

Thats to bad. It stinks when you have a problem like that. No company should treat customers that way, they should be happy and grateful for every customer. Their fragrance smell good and yes can find those scents anywhere. I like them because they have sezzle so when placing an order it can be split up with 4 payments so it doesn't hurt so bad lol. New york scents has sezzle also, the only 2 I could find. Well thanks for sharing. 💖 I hope i don't need customer service. 😪

  6. Maybe you baked it a little to long. Thats happened to be, I used a sun cookie cutter and it was so stuck inside the cutter was no longer a sun shape by the time i got it out, and i did leave it in longer than usual.

Way back when i tried this type. Weren’t they called smelly jellies once upon a time?   It worked, I guess, in that it made a scented blob that shrank as the water evaporated.  It smelled in the direct vicinity, but not like a commercially made one.

the commercially made ones have different fragrance “throwers” and components to help it evaporate in a controlled way to get into the air without shriveling up too fast.

My observations of the fragrance component is that it’s like the plug ins that contain the methyl ethers. Or the reed bases that have volatile components that are easily carried by air.

there’s nothing to lose trying these recipes out. They can be fun.

Ty. I guess it would be better to make for fun rather than to sell. Would be a nice project to do with the kids. Maybe for gifts for the holidays.

  8. I received all the fo's from maple street, and they all smell great. Shipping was extremely fast. I ordered on june 30 and got them on july 3rd. My favs are apple maple bourbon, christmas memories, welcome home, pumpkin pecan waffles, lavender and spring apricot. So far maple street has great fo's.

I just got some of their oils in after I had made up my  mind I wasn't going to order from them and I really liked most of what I got. I hate to add another supplier to my list but I just may have to. Let us know what your thoughts are about what you ordered!

I sure will. I can't  wait to smell sweet orange chilli pepper. Hopefully i will get them early next week.

Everything is overwicked.  Wicking down a size from an ECO-8 to an ECO-6 somehow made the problem worse in multiple candles.  Using Probend 600 in 8-oz tins, is there a better line of wicks I ought to be using?  I'm torn between ordering the next size(s) down in ECO or just outright switching as I'm tired of dumping money into wicks that aren't working for me.  I've noticed the PB600 stays rather soft even after a 4 week cure - does this mean I should consider looking for wicks that aren't as "hot"?

    Maybe cd's would be better

I think a lot depends on the actual brand of vinyl you are using, and the heat press.

From my own limited experience with Siser and similar brands the mod podge may create a barrier between the fabric and the vinyl - and prevent a full long lasting bond.

Can you test a small scrap of fabric to be sure?

Ty, yes i will test. I thought it might bond good but wasn't sure if it would have some reverse reaction. I got a cricut for Mothers Day, so this just brought crafting to a whole new level😊
