I have one of the light bulb ones that I use the palm wax in with no problems, no smoking.

I found when I first started making them that if I used the bigger holder inside with votives that it did get kind of soft but that doesn't happen using the t lights so I use the smaller inserts now.

I only had problems with bubbles one so far. I wasn't paying attention enough when putting it on:sad2: . If you do the larger ones, start in the middle to work them out to the sides.

Since it's snowing (again) I thought it would be a good day to play with the new water slide decal paper I got the other day. These are done on palm pillars. All the photos were taken on our trip out west last Sept. First one is Bryce Canyon in Utah(gorgeous place), 2nd one is the Grand Tetons in Wyoming and the 3rd one is a black bear we encountered in Mesa Verde,CO.

I prefer the electric ones. I've had the tlight ones break from the heat, than God I was there to hear it crack. The electric ones I just turn them on:)

Goddess:laugh2: There are a few different ways to make them depending how you want your finished product to look. The one in the photo, the wax is poured to the height that you want to set the votive cup on, let the wax harden then place the cup on the wax & finish pouring the wax around the cup. Then there is the plug thingy but I don't use that. If you want to try it that way, I have one that a really nice person from the board sent to me, I can pass it on to you if you want it. The method I use, someone else from the board suggested using playdoh inside the glass insert & it works perfectly. the play doh inside the glass keeps wax from getting inside the glass which will make it float up in the wax them flip over:shocked2: I just unmolded one done with the playdoh in it, Ill post a pic of it with the playdoh in the top!! There is a lot of ways to do these, they're fun to experiment with!! I'll try to see if I can remmeber where to buy the plugs.

I will be back!! We did go all the way across the trail. What a great drive. The funniest thing happened, I'm driving along & if you've ever been across this trail you'll know why it was so funny, we come around the corner & here comes a UPS truck!! way out in the middle of nowhere, they do deliver anywheres!! I'm thinking I'd like to come back out that way in September again but spring time would be nice too. I have friends in Mesa so we could stay with them & make trips from there. Oh, now I want to come out even more than I did:sad2:

You could do either. I've made them all with one scent & ones with diferent scents that compliment each other.

I did notice the calming affect around the mountains, we stopped at the old mining town & I just stood & stared at the mt. Very relaxful place, I'd move there in a heartbeat. the older I get the more I hate the cold. The snow is beautiful but it stays here too damn long! Are you in Apache Junction?

I'd much rather have 2 feet of snow than that freakin ice. One ice storm in my life time is enough!! Didn't you get any snow in MA?

I use pillar wax scented & colored & drop the whole roll in the pot then turn it upside down & dip abgain to make sure it is coated with wax then let dry & decorate. Now I got to see what other ones to come up with!! I need something to keep me busy while it's snowing:laugh2:

The design is in the paper, it's Angel Soft!! Try it, just watch out cause the wax is HOT:rolleyes2 Need to find some small tongs to fish them out of the wax!!

Since I'm not much into flowers these are 2 dipped toilet paper freshners I did. The dolphins is for my bathroom & the moose is for my brother. I think I'm gonna play around with some more of these!!
