  1. I have been using J50 for almost 5 years not and there is nothing you can do about the wet spots. I used to get so upset about them, until I made myself go to an upscale store and look at their candles. OMG they looked horrible compared to mine. Holes near the wick major wet spots dips. I continued to look everytime I went somewhere and they had candles. I think everyone has them, it is just something you have to live with.
  2. that is what I use my wicks that have been misplaced from their bags. Can't afford to put the wrong one in my candles.

  11. Thank you for your help, I am going to Michael's and wally world today to see what they have.
  12. There are also a few different types of beads. I started getting mine from BCN and found a local supplier who carried them and I wouldn't have to pay shipping, so I got some from them. They were not the same. BCN's are more round or even cylinder type and the other ones were like oval balls. The ones from BCN make the kind of ornies that are bumpy like they should be IMO and the others melted flat no matter what temp and amount of time they were in the oven. I know JC's isn't in business anymore, (that is where I got the other ones from), but they were told by their supplier there is only one manufacturer. Clearly that is not true. This may be what some of the problem is. Just thought you should know.
  13. I think all my clothes have wax stains on them too. I have a pair of suede lace up boots and some wax dribbled on the toe, and it looked like blood and I didn't even notice it, but boy did other people. I kept getting stopped by people in walmart telling me I was bleeding.
  14. When I started making ornies I was in Texas and never had a problem with them melting at all. The color did seem to fade, but they didn't melt and I think they lasted as long as in the cooler months. I am in Idaho now and no problems now either.
  15. personally I don't put anything in the lids. I don't like the way it looks
  16. I have a customer who is wanting 200 candles filled in a votive container. The picture she emailed me is like a 8 sided votive holder and I have no clue where to find something like that that doesn't cost a lot of money. Any suggestions where I can find some thing like that. She wants them kind of fancy, not just plain old round. any suggestions would be great. Here is a pic of what she sent me. thanks amy
  17. I think they look great. We are our own worse critics!!! Great job:yay:
  18. I bought the nylon wisks from pampered chef 5 yrs ago. They cost a little bit more, but I bought 3 and have never had to buy more. They work awesome and you can use the heat gun on them and they are fine.
  19. I order from lots more suppliers, but my top 3 Lonestar BCN Tradewinds I just ordered my first two from peaks..Jamiaka Me Crazy and Pink Sugar-Love them and will be ordering from them again.
  20. I find great baskets at The dollar tree. They are very inexpensive. Dollar tree also carries shrink wrap bags in packages of two. they usually carry clear, red, green, and balloon covered. I also get coupons from local craft stores for 40% off one item in the mail ( just signs up for their fliers) and buy the big rolls of cello wrap for about $1.25 with the coupon.
  21. Yes, I have been noticing the smoking alot. I will repour and try wicking down and see how it goes. I am currently using a zink 60 in my 26 oz keepsake jars with J50. Do you think I should go to a Zink 51 or double wicking it with 44's? I guess I will try both and see what will work. I have only used the J50 since I first started making candles almost 6 years ago. I seriously think they replaced it with the 4630. When I got my last batch of J50 it did not look, feel, or burn the same. When I got my 4630 it looked a lot like the J50 I had received. I am just not happy with it at all!!!
  22. I am testing a few new waxes after all my trouble lately with my J50. Can anyone tell me if they use this and how they like it. It seems to be good so far, but I am wondering iif it is as good as my supplier says and if  there are some better ones out there.
