Sunday, it's not that American suppliers won't ship to me. But Canada Customs turned a $20 order into a $60 ordeal. By the time the fragrance oils were in my hand they were the most expensive bottles of FO I've ever owned! So the problem is not American suppliers, it's our own rules and regulations!

fair enough Ramr....I've just made peace with it!...

And OH NOOO!!!! Couldn't you call them Monday morning and tell them what happened and that it wouldn't go through again and see what they say?  That's terrible!  I'm so sorry!!! I hope they fix it for you.  😕

OMGOSH SUNDAY.....All those oils you listed were in your cart and you couldn't process it because they never straightened out the problem.....?    I'm so sorry.  Wow, that was a lot of money on just samples!   Well I see where Candle Science came back and said what to do.   That was nice.   I hope they sent you an email and told you they would process the order even though it is after the sale, just for how it happened.   That would be nice if they did that/would show good business sense on their end.   I'll look and see what I have in my cabinet and could send you some if I have them.

Hi Marleigha and Trapps....I have to say I did contact Candle Science and in all honesty they have bent over backwards to make this sale go through...I couldn't ask for better service. They have been super quick to respond! It turns out that I have to complete the sale through Paypal...which is fine by me...but paypal seems to be giving me some issues all on it's own....sometimes the stars aren't aligned and stuff like this happens.

Trapps that's a sweet offer but really I'm OK....I think it will all work out in the end...and if not there's always next springs sale hahahahah:laugh2:

, Your flowers were gorgeous!  I have a jigsaw puzzle that looks like the up close flower picture...I haven't tackled it yet.  :)

It must have been heart wrenching to move off and leave them.  I hope the new owners appreciated the treasure they were getting.

I love teacups too!  And tea pots.  Nine years ago, I was at a garage sale, and a lady was selling her grandma's old cups and saucers.  Out of the blue, the thought popped in my head that those cups would make pretty candles.  And thus it began.  For a few years, I made candles in cups and mugs, mostly from the Goodwill.  Then I got interested in the beautiful bone china cups and saucers from England.  I had a booth at a flea market and sold my candles, as well as tea cups and saucers and lots of other goods.  But the cup candles just didn't sell at the booth, although I had sold a bunch outside of the booth.  So in 2014, I found some round jars to make pumpkin candles and the jar candles sold much better.  Then my supplier quit carrying those jars, so in January of 2015, I found a new jar, designed my own label and Colby Creek Candles was born.  :)

I have had some of the same cups you have and still have some displayed in a couple of cabinets, but I have sold some.  Because I go overboard every time I get into something and overbuy.  I also have a shelf with tea pots that I kept

I was kind of lost without my  flowers....but the minute autumn rolled around and I didn't have to dig clean , store and label thousands of tubers I kinda got over it hahahahha

Your teacup candles are beautiful. ...I really enjoy hunting for special teacups and have made teacup candles as well...and like yours they we're not big sellers ...not sure why but that happens...yes I sold some on craigslist but they did not sell at the summer vintage market even at 10.00...so now the minute someone compliments them I give them a free  Teacup candle hahahah ...

.  I failed yet again and got sucked into the 99 cent sale and got 45-50 more 1 oz bottles ugh!  Not that I need them!  Well the good news is my friend is just starting so I will give her some for her MP soap journey.  I need to do what you did Gail!  I have been buying like a mad woman!  It's CRAZY!!! And I have so much so you would think I would stop?!???? NOPE!  I seriously think this is an addiction for some of us waxies/soap makers! 😬  Well,  It could certainly be worse!

I've stopped telling people I make candles and on my husbands insistence I now tell them I'm a fragrance collector...you know it's true when you would rather be perusing fragrance websites than make candles...I'm embracing it...don't drink....don't smoke...but I LOVE putting fragrances in my cart...could be worse...I used to be crazy about dahlia websites and had 800 in my garden....now that was a lot of work!....these little babies just sit on my shelves waiting for me.

so tell me how you really feel about the pumpkin souffle Marleigha hahahaha.

..looks like I will be SOL with another purchase from Candle science...apparently their computer system can't handle it if you have a Canadian credit card...although my shipping address is in Washington state...They told me it would be straightened out last sale and it looks like nothing was done...oh well

CS's cotton candy is my FAVORITE cotton candy. I also really love their Raspberry Sangria, and if you don't make soap/bb items it's a good one because it's not skin safe. Found that out AFTER I ordered it, but I love it. I *think* that's where I got the Violet Lime and loved it. I also really like their cucumber mint. There are several others, but those are the ones right off the top of my head from them that I love. .

well lets add those to the list Jcandle....whats another 3-4 dollars hahahaha

Thank you! I actually have ordered from London and Australia before, and it was no problem. I can't remember if I tried sweet cakes, but I will check and I will also check out Lebermuth. Do you think those two have more highly concentrated oils, or higher quality ingredients?

I can't say if they have a higher concentration....I'm curious, how did you like the fragrance oils that you purchased from Australia and the UK ? Did you find them to be an improvement from the oils they sell in the US. Wonderful to hear that shipping was not an issue. ..perhaps you have tapped into  a new shopping avenue for all of us:yay:

Your really right Sunday, is it worth my time?   In all practicality no, but I measured the shelf unit and being the unit is 36" wide I will need 3 of these units to fit on 1 shelf and I have 2 shelfs so it will wind up about 120.00 just for some display units....but I need to spend some time outside and take a little break from making candles....I'm just going to make myself do it.  I know I'll enjoy it as I love to do wood working.  And I have all these pallets at my barn so I'm going to use pallet wood! ha ha ha....I'll post a picture...And also I'm going to make the units deeper so I can fit more than 5 or 6 melts in each section.  I was thinking of even painting them a distressed teal color too.

    Trappeur

Ahh  you really are a woman of many talents Trapps...I'm totally impressed that you have some woodworking skills...can't wait to see what you come up with!

  13. One of my accounts I am making the clam shell melts for them and to just put the clam shells on a shelf unit is really going to be a mess real quickly so I ordered this for 11.99 and thought I would set the clam shells into each section by fragrance name.  It would look neat and orderly and organized I think.  I was thinking I would make up a label and put on the drawer front of each fragrance.  Now the depth of this drawer is 4" deep so you wouldn't really see the clam shells as they would be hidden in the sections so I thought I would cut a block of wood 1 or 2" in thickness and drop into the bottom of each section so when the clam shells are set upright in each section they would stick out of each section.  I hope this works....I can't think of another better idea.  I ordered just one for me to see how it works.   Geesh, I could make these instead of paying 12.99 and 9.00 shipping...And too, I would have to order 2 units to sit side by side to go the length of the shelf they will sit on, so maybe I better make them and I'll just keep this for me.

its a Very pretty display Trapp...really are you going to be able to make something similar for 20.00?...maybe...but is it worth your time...probably not...just my humble opinion:huh:

  14. I'm not sure if they can be shipped by air..or only ground transport (boat in your case Candlesinflorida) because of flashpoint.....just a thought

Have you given sweetcakes a shot ...looks like they carry a selection of high end perfume dupes...worth a try and  I'm sure ...although expensive I expect it will not be more than a shipment from France....you might also give lebermuth a try...this is just my humble opinion:D

So would you order with the lids or no?

Boxes?    Oh, that will be really gorgeous!

definitely lids Trapps ...or maybe with a box a lid would be overkill...hmmmm...

I really like these boxes ...they come in a few colors and I drool over them every time I look at them..but at 7.00 a pop...then the jar ...wax ...fragrance etc...my free labour and still my candles are going to be 200.00each:laugh2:  ..ok maybe not quite but you get my drift!.
