  1. Hello everyone I wanted to order some jars from Dream vessels and somehow fell down a rabbit hole of research. They have these beautiful jars that I found for much less if I buy direct from China although I would have to purchase a 1000 rather than the $4.20 each plus shipping from dream vessels.... has anyone ordered candle jars/vessels from Ali express or Alibaba?

  2. has anyone got any info on any of these Just scent scents...tried? Love? Hate?

    serendipity

    rosemary mint

    salty sea air

    pumpkin firewood

    senorita margarita

    chestnuts and brown sugar

    cactus sea salt

    Caribbean salsa

    caramel pipe tobacco

    bonfire

    clean crisp white

I agree geodon99 many of us are in the business of selling candles...so really we are  just discussing this particular business plan...Perhaps she knows something we don't know....and perhaps we could help her....who knows..but none of this is meant to bash or be mean spirited to this Etsy seller.

Maybe they’re just trying to get a few sales chalked up to build their relatively new shop?

Maybe...but 14 sales from three customers....hmmmm...I dunno...But we all know Etsy is all about survival of the fittest and if I had to make a prediction I might guess that they wont be around too long....all I can say is don't photograph your items on a towel...no matter how plush that towel may be!

  5. That's wonderful Gail ! Your success is inspiring and it's wonderful to see that you take great pride in your craft ......A compliment goes a long way to inspire us to make more candles doesn't it hahahah . I t looks like you have the sweetest little distraction in your arms. I suspect your already planning what your going to pour in the new year though!

    Merry Christmas!!

  6. Treat your customers with respect...remember you worked weeks for this chance, Greet each one with a smile ..if you can't serve them immediately then tell them you will be happy to help them in a moment.

Set your display up in a manor that would make Martha stewart proud! No one will shop at a stand that looks thrown together. It doesn't matter that your in a high school gym or the Ritz. Have some flowers or greenery ...and make the air around you smell good ...if you have a chair...try not to use it too much ..and keep smiling ..Have fun...keep smiling

I'm sure this is basic stuff you are already aware of....just seems every year you see poor venders with no selling skills...and really it's so simple...

You could make candles in the china teacups and sell those. Two birds with one stone. LOL

That's what I thought Laura....made tones of cute ones for a summer market 2 years ago. Had a beautiful display and lots of admirers ...advertised them at a fantastic price of 10.00 (cups were worth more than that)...just wanted them gone hahahah...guess how many I sold...?.....ZERO hahahaha....Sold tons of other candles and things but not one teacup. So now when anyone comes to visit I generously give them a teacup candle ....little do they know it's a secret plot to unload the darn things!!

Currently I just toss them in a box. I can't use 1oz ers so I only order them when they are freebies like with CS. But if I had hundreds I wanted to organize I would do it by supplier. That way when I ordered FOs I can just check and see what I have before I order from that supplier. Its worked great for me in the past.

Candybee, I sort them alphabetically ....When I go to order from a supplier I just go on my master list....have it generate the info by suppliers and bingo -bango I know what I have...

On a side note...I love my 1 oz sample bottles and use them..most of the time I combine them...but they never go to waste.:D

  9. I sort all my fragrances alphabetically ...the 1 oz bottles go in plastic shoe boxes from home depot (I love those boxes and use them for everything)

I write a letter on the cap so its easy to see.

Then I keep a master list of all the fragrances I have and want and how much of each I have where I ordered them from ...a little comment etc..

That way I don't order stuff I already have ( ok  perhaps that works better in theory since I still occasionally order fragrances I already have ...oh well)

    Always looks tidy.
