  1. I use less soda and citric acid than called for.. just because I like it more to be like a solid bath oil... and I hate the gritty feeling of that stuff...I clean my tub more often( I have too many kids).. and i use that clorox with teflon.. that prevents me from getting many tub rings....
  2. in my line.. they arent the same..... I know some people use the term interchangeably. my whipped shea is just shea, light oil and cornstarch.... its great for very very dry skin.. not something i would want as a daily all over moisturizer... my body butter, is shea+ other butters(cocoa mango etc...) plus water e wax etc... which is a very thick cream or lotion... thicker than a normal body lotion... but not so greasy and great all over daily moisturizer.
  3. I have noticed of course a lot use the melt..freeze, whip method, and some whip over an ice bath etc... does anyone make this with softened butters? I ask because I never melt.... I use soft butters, and whip at the consistancy of say..shortening.. it gets fluffy and nice and i am happy with it. Are their any extra benefits to melting? increased volume or anything? I havent tried it as I heard alot of people complaining of things going wrong.. like getting it too hot, shea going grainy etc..and I am not one who usually tries to fix what isn't broke.. but i was just curious if i was missing out on any thing KEY to a better product?
  4. what a great idea... buying the uglies:yay:
  5. I see that all the time.. in the good stuff too!! and tunneling.. in high dollar candles( I swear home interior are notorious for this).. I just shake my head..

  8. I had some discoloration with one of them...can't remember which one.. I changed.. now using "baby's room" and its fine.
  9. 8 oz.. or large 24 oz apothecary, I sell very few 16 oz..
  10. that is not the same as purchased vanilla powder, its is usually pure vanilla the good stuff.., sometimes it has a malo dextrin based.. there are a million varities... some are pure.. high dollar and some are not, van o van is really popular.. its a powder base with synthetic vanilla flavor. and much cheaper you can never pulverize as well as commercial, sometimes beans arent dry enough.. and homemade kind.. leaches out moisture in stuff you make.. which is fine for baking... not fine for body powder..
  11. oohhh I shoud be so mad at you for posting this.... I could get myself in trouble there:drool:
  12. I gave my DD a "craft" party on her birthday, I let the girls use my supplies and provided instruction to make their own MP soaps, lip gloss and body lotions.. it was a big hit... so much so, other moms are calling and asking me to HOST one for their kids... I have no clue how to price for my time? the supplies part is easier.. but still I get these things wholesale, so should I "wholesale price" my supplies for party.. and then just charge my Fee for hosting? I am so confised.. but this is looking to be something lucrative here on my AFB, plus its a chance to advertise with the "moms" my other products... do you think it would be good just to charge a flat fee or ____ per child?

  15. you can get it online at many cooking and spice related sites, like the bakers catalouge(king arthur flour) and the spicerack, if you have any local specialty cooking stores, cake supply stores or some better gourmet coffee shops will have it as well. I usually get mine from the bakers catalouge ( i order way to much from there) I use this in my honey dust body powder.
