  1. Sealing disks is what I meant--thank you. I always use sealing disks esp. when I make something for sale--it cost a few cents more but it looks professional--dept. store high end cosmetics which usually have them. It prevents cream from sticking to the cap and/or prevents a thin substance from seaping through/spilling.
  2. Do you mean the round plastic sealing disc that you put on top of the product--best kind have a lift off tab but these are more expensive & difficult to find?
  3. I got the professional series, most expensive, but definitely worth it because this model offers the optional "water jacket" accessory app. $59 which you order from the company. It attaches to the bottom of the bowl & you can add ice/hot water while you are making something. The water jacket saves time because you don't have to stop everything while you put the bowl, for instance, in the fridge to cool down.
  4. I used half coffee, half cocoa with a small amount of Vitamin E & whipped it with some carrier oil so it would spread easily which turned out great. It is an ultra rich butter which lasts forever.
  5. Info Pg. 3, POWER BATH OIL. I made this several times & it had plenty of bubbles.
  6. From my experience the scent intensity depends on which supplier you purchased from. I found after a while from repeatedly exposing it to air the scent vanishes totally.
  7. Basically it's beeswax, a small amount of carrier oil like Jojoba & a bit of fo or eo. Experiment with a small amount until you get the consistency you like.
  8. The Body Shop sells bath oil powder--expensive but excellent. You can find a recipe for orange floral powdered bath oil at www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com. www.gardenofwisdom.com had a product called luscious bath powder which produced excellent results. Email to see if it is still available. I'm a loyal customer for years & this is the only site where you can order small amounts of anything which is a good way to sample without going broke.
  9. I ordered a sample www.denhamsnaturals.com--excellent source--& tried several other premade brands & I found goats milk is not too emollient, in fact, all seemed to have a drag as I was applying it. Personally I don't see why so much fuss is made over it.
  10. I'm a loyal customer for years at www.gardenofwisdom.com This is the only supplier who lets you order small amounts of anything listed. Excellent prices, fast shipping; mention you are a board member.
  11. Almost every supplier sells it but there is a huge difference in quality & price as I found out. www.moosecreekbathandbody.com has the finest. Email the owner if it isn't listed--you will love it!
  12. www.gardenofwisdom.com has it--I'm a loyal customer for years; excellent prices, immediate shipping, fanastic customer service. This is the only supplier who lets you sample without going broke. You can order a smaller amt. of anything listed. Mention you are a board member.
  13. I have the recipe but don't know the procedure. Is this an w/o emulsion or o/w emulsion since the mixing procedures are different? Should the distilled water be heated, if so, what temp? Should phenonip & water be mixed together then added to the other ingredients or what? How should this be mixed, via hand, beaters, whisk & how long? Thank you for helping.
  14. According to the manufacturer, some of the stearic acid is removed from the butter to make the butter a liquid form. I always add a bit of liquid shea to shea butter to soften it when I use the butter straight on the skin because it spreads easier, reduces stretching of the skin. Liquid shea can also be used as any other primo luxury oil in lotions, creams, bath oil sprays, etc. or it can be used alone.
  15. I'm a loyal customer for years at www.gardenofwisdom.com. This is the only supplier where you can buy a small amount of anything listed--excellent way to sample without going broke--immediate shipping, excellent customer service.
  16. In an emergency you can find this in a large health food/vitamin store.
  17. I don't remember if I added any oil since I made it a while ago; if I did, it was a tiny amount. I softened the butters in hot water then whipped. Coffee butter is very rich & a jar lasts a very long time. Coffee butter texture & scent varies heavily from different suppliers.
  18. I did not like this product or any similar base because the mixture was sticky. Premade vs. made from scratch speaks for itself.
  19. I've ordered this from www.oregontrailsoaps.com & the quality was excellent. Keep it refrigerated at all times because hemp is a delicate oil.
  20. www.denhamsnatural.com in the wholesale category has a salve base. I've ordered from them & was satisfied with their prompt customer service, fast shipping, quality products.
  21. I use tapioca powder a/k/a wheat starch because it is much finer than corn starch which tends to be heavier. I ALWAYS sift powder before adding to mixture because it alleviates clumps. Start with a very small amount otherwise there is nothing you can do if it makes the mixture grainy.
  22. www.gardenofwisdom.com is my faithful supplier for years; excellent prices/ immediate shipping/personalized customer service because you can order a sample of anything without paying a fortune only to find out it isn't what you wanted. I've ordered from abangkarite & Bamboultd, & their shea was excellent but expensive & shipping is too high.
  23. I'm a loyal customer for years at www.gardenofwisdom.com. They offer several types of cocoa butter, however, dark cocoa butter is not listed but I'm sure it's still available.
