  1. If it's the size of a votive, she may be referring to a 2" pillar mold.
  2. You could be feeling this way because it is the time of year when candle making tends to slow down. Once I slow down with the biz., I find it's so hard to get back at it when that big order comes along. Your body hits an exhaustion point from busting your butt for 3-4 months and 16 hours a day solid. I think it happens to all of us at one point in time.
  3. I usually add brown to hunter to get an olive color.
  4. It could have been the stearic you added as this wax doesn't require additives. Usually if you polish a palm pillar, it retains its' lustre. That is the only thing I can think of that's causing this problem.
  5. Nice job on those. Love the colours! :highfive:
  6. Used them in paraffin years ago and always had nice smelling candles. Must have been the fragrance I picked.
  7. Here ya go: http://www.justscent.com/product2114.html
  8. Love those candles, you did an incredible job on them. Love the fragrance you picked also, it's my fav.
  9. I have used them in the past for candles and really liked their products. It has been a while so I'm not sure if things have changed over there.
  10. Just an update to the Mango Coconut Vanilla I made yesterday. Coco Mango is from Royal Aromatics and made for Soy, the Vanilla Bean Noel is from Daystar. Used roughly 6% Coco Mango and 1% Vanilla Bean Noel. I only had this curing for less than 24 hours and WOW...totally amazing hot and cold throw. I can't imagine what it is going to smell like in a week.
  11. Try this link. You should findl all the info your looking for here. http://www.candletech.com/forums/search.php?searchid=600231
  12. Thanks Mozz for forwarding. If anybody is looking for the directions, here in the archives. Just thought I would save you some time on emailing Mozz, that way you can get all those beautiful everlastings made. http://www.candletech.com/archivedforum/YaBB.cgi.144.html
  13. Sounds like it could be a combination of the f/o or the dye. How much oil was used in that wax? Try lowering your % of oil and try another one with a full chip and see if it happens again. If so, cut back on the dye chip on your 3rd test. Not all f/o's are the same. Once you've mastered your testing, write your findings down in a log book and keep it in a safe place for future reference.
  14. Thanks for all your feedback! Ok...we have: The Candlesource Millcreek NG WYW WSP I going to put all (4) on little pieces of paper, throw them in the air and the one I pick up, gets ordered. Talk about taking a chance here. :rolleyes2 I would try WSP, but unfortunately, they won't ship to Canada so that's a bummer.
  15. Right On Leesters...You Did It! :highfive: A first attempt is better than no attempt. I had faith in you and your finished product postings. Keep it up and we'll be learning something new from you real soon! I bet your sitting there right now enjoying that vanilla jar candle. :rolleyes2
  16. WSP also has a "Mango Coconut" with 1% vanilla... http://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/StoreCategory.aspx?CategoryID=439&CategoryName=Fragrance+Oils%3a++L-M
  17. You can always try JSs' "Coco Cabana", a couple other ingredients added in it, but it sounds wonderful. You never know, that supplier/mfg. might not list every ingredient as competition tends to dupe. If all else fails, try blending your own coconut, mango and vanilla bean. I have a coco mango from Royal that is made for soy, has incredible hot and cold throw and now you have me curious...I'm going to throw in my vanilla bean and see what type of aroma it produces. I'll let you know the results.
  18. Try a 6-7% f/o load and the cds' or htps' work well with this wax.
  19. JS has one and it sounds really yummy also. http://www.justscent.com/product554.html
  20. I noticed Candlewics's also, but wanted to get opinions on here first before taking the plunge. I am presently using JSs' and I really have to lower the amount between 4-5% as the flames do not want to stay lit. Thanks for your feedback!
  21. I am looking for a dupe of Yankme's S&C. If anybody has a supplier in mind for this oil, I would be indebted to you. I am using pure soy wax. Some people are saying Millcreek has a great one...what's your opinion?
  22. I have tried the Strawberry Jam from JS, smells wonderful out of bottle, but when I make a candle, can't get the darn thing to burn. I have lowered my oil content and still the same problem. I now have a sample of Strawberry Pearl from JS, gonna give it a try and see and smell the results, I'll keep you posted Jami. :highfive:
