  1. There is a page listed for Close Out Scents, and it does look like it was discontinued.
  2. Stella, Thanks for providing all the wonderful info! I didn't have the time (or probably patience at the moment lol ) to go into a whole explanation on the subject, but I think what you said about chandlers educating themselves is one of the most important statements you made! I get so upset over seeing posts one day about "I just started testing" and then a week or so later "can you look at my website" or "I'm doing a craft show this weekend". But that's a subject for another thread! :-) Testing and education, 2 key elements to becoming a successful chandler!! Thanks again for the info!!
  3. the flashpoint of a FO refers to the temperature the FO would have to be in order to catch fire when coming into contact with a spark or an open flame
  4. What do you mean by - watch your FO flashpoints with the hotter pouring?
  5. Anyone order FOs from Farmhouse? I don't see them mentioned often and just wondered if anyone ordered from them recently and what their thoughts were on them?
  6. their website also says that the bar contains as much oil as a 12oz jar candle, at a fraction of the cost. Whose jar are they comparing it to, and how do they know how much oil is used?

    clamshell question

Some people do end up smelling the jars first to decide what scents they want in the tarts, but I don't always have the same scents in both. I've learned certain scents sell in the tarts and others in the jars depending on which shows I'm doing. Some scents overlap of course, but it just depends. I've thought about the portion cups and may try that out. I also like the idea about the punch-hole in the clamshell. Thanks for the ideas!!
  8. I've got another clamshell question. I did a search, but didn't really find anything. When taking them to craft shows, they get opened so often to sniff, that they eventually get cracked, broken, and just don't look so nice. I hate to sell them like that (even though they are going to get broken to use them anyway, but.....), but I also hate to toss them aside to get put in a "pile" at home to eventually use or to get melted down again or whatever. What do all of you do when displaying your clamshells? Do you have some other type of "sample" for people to sniff or do you not worry about them getting cracked or what do you do? Dumb questions, I know..... Thanks for your help!
  9. She was probably a Scent*y rep or is friends with or related to someone who is. I've had numerous people tell me that they have cute warmers, but their melts are not that great. They said they don't last very long at all. Well as expensive as they are, you would think they would last quite a while! Also said that their warmers get extremely hot. I've never tried them myself, but it seems that they aren't "all that". It's a shame that woman had to do that in front of other people. Rude!! Constructive criticism is one thing, but what she did was a little over the top. It has Scent*y rep written all over it!!
  10. I haven't heard back from them yet, but I'm not happy with this batch of them at all. The first melts I poured, I noticed the lids didn't snap shut quite as tightly either. Maybe this production run just wasn't quite right, I don't know. I actually ordered mine back in March; seems like a minor issue, I know, but they definitely aren't the same as prior ones I had received. Oh well, guess I'll wait and see what they say..... thanks for the input, maybe a few more will chime in about their recent orders... thanks.
  11. For those of you that order the tart clamshells from Impact, any of you notice any difference in them compared to previous orders? I ordered some a few months ago, but just now broke into the box to start using them. These new ones seem to have the corners "notched" out (not quite sure how to explain it), which causes the corners to break off when you open to sample/sniff. I still have a couple from my last order, and there is a definite difference. I've emailed them to ask if I possibly received the wrong item or to find out if they changed the mfg of them, just wondered if anyone here noticed any differences..... thanks!!
  12. Here's the email I just received from Keystone. If you have a question or concern, address it to the company or person by picking up the phone, not by email, which I have never received, before making it public. WOW!! Unbelievable! If she doesn't want to be contacted via email, then why does she have her email address listed on her contact info page? I don't know what else to say except, WOW!
  13. these are all great!! Thank you so much for the help!!
  14. Any creative renames for a fireplace type scent? I'm terrible at coming up with new and exciting names....thanks!!
  15. For those of you that pour melts and use the 2oz portion cups, what size labels do you all use? Thanks for your help!!
  16. yeah, I know, but I had it in my head that I had until today to order. After I went back and looked at the email today once I sat down to figure out what I wanted, I realized I had missed the boat!! oh well.....
  17. I thought the sale went thru today, I can't believe I missed out!!
  18. Purses. And I suppose other accessories. I don't get out much either! I just know they are too expensive for me!!
  19. I don't feel so bad now. I probably have at least 100, and I thought that was bad! Don't know how I'd ever get thru 700+ samples, I can't get thru the ones I have!
  20. I'm not going to be much help, I know, but I can tell you ICS' is not even close to FOH's. I haven't found anyone who carries it, but if I do, I'll be sure to let ya know!!
  21. Anyone use AH's Bahama Coconut in soy? Still looking for an awesome coconut and was thinking about trying this one....thanks for your help!!! Susan
  22. I had another candle crafter come over to check out my booth at a show last year and as he's talking my ear off, a customer comes and asks if I have a certain scent. Before I can even get anything out of my mouth, he says - Oh, I have that scent, come with me! - as he's pulling her by the arm back to his booth!! I have another candle lady who seems to "follow" me to a lot of my shows, then she'll leave her daughter to watch her booth, and then comes over to check out how I'm doing like 50x a day! If I happen to get a break and go walk around or something, she'll pull me into her booth and say - Here, smell this, isn't this just the greatest?! - or something like that. One time she did that, her candle had the HUGEST sink hole, she couldn't get the lid back on that candle quick enough! This really had nothing to do with people taking pics! Sorry to get off-topic and hi-jack the thread!
  23. I think that was a sale back in February. i don't know of a DS sale going on right now.
  24. Thank you all very much for your help! I'm definitely going to try out Peak's Lavender and will probably go ahead and try TN's also. Thank you!!
  25. I just went to re-order some ST/ICS True Lavender and the price has jumped way up. Anyone know of a Lavender that is similar to this one? Maybe TN's True Lavender or Peaks Lavender? Thank you all for your help!!! :smiley2: Susan
