I am soy wax user, and General Wax only has 4 FOs for soy wax. Still, I have tried few FOs from there due to close distance from my house, and CT & HT did not impress me. Most of their products are from China, and I have feeling that China is where they are getting their FOs also. Some other person might have had great experience with their FOs other than 4 soy wax FOs that they have.
Thank you! I didn't know this !
I was primarily interested in their Juicy bits of Orange 🍊 FO
I heard Pure Fragrance oils
has a great orange 🍊 so I'll
probably just order from there

Wax tarts:
wax used: The Candle Source's tart blend
FO load : 8%
molds: Sillicone shapes
cure time: 48 hours min
CT: moderate to poor
HT: moderate*
* I know this is a popular FO, but it just didn't do it for me. It was sweet and a little smokey, but faint once I got it in wax. The throw was only ok.
I got this FO as a sample in 2017.
I'm not a fan either . Like you said many love it & you described it
perfectly

You're right about it having more of a maple undertone but it's such a wonderful scent! I actually name it maple cream cookies.
You always come up with the best names !

Ok, here are my notes.
Northwoods coconut wax
4 oz. tin, whatever the standard size is diameter wise! I used 3.75 once’s of wax.
eco 6, but you will no doubt test other sizes
I used drops instead of ounces, remember, this was an experiment using essential oils, an ounce per pound would have been too much I feel
32 drops palo santo
36 cedarwood
20 bergamot
10 patchouli, which just mellows the blend, not really noticeable but important to keep in
I did cure for 1 month! If you do t smell anything, put it on a shelf and wait.
Also consider making it wickless so testing is easier
Keep in mind I made this 1 year ago. I’ve burned it on and off once it was cured.
The ct not as strong but the ht was great!
Im still on the fence using essential oils in candles as I don’t think we are meant to burn them and the safety issues are not really spelled out.
your results may vary! This was the only essential oil candle that blew me away, other essential oils were duds.
And palo santo reminds me of frankincense which is a cousin to palo santo but much stronger, I add it to almond oil to moisture my skin.
Thank you again ! I really appreciate it

Has anyone Sweetcakes Lavender & Herbs ? Its pretty pricy so I was hoping to get some opinions before ordering ? I also saw Original Herbal Essence too.
Thanks !

I have successfully made candles using palo santo essential oil from Eden botanicals in coconut wax. I’ve never used the fragrance oil version but plan to try just to compare. The palo santo candle was an experiment but I’d rather use essential oils in other products.
Ill be trying Lab and co version of palo santo soon. Has anyone here had a chance to try theirs?
Im dying to know too ! lol ! Theres so many Id like to try . Isn't that EO from Eden Botanicals very expensive to use in a candle ? I just noticed you use coconut wax, thats another
wax Ive been wanting to try. Do you use the one from Northwoods ? It seems to have a lot of good reviews .

I've only used a very small selection of FOs from there. I'm about 20 minutes from them and dropped in to pick up a sample of their ultrawax. I grabbed 2oz samples of Amber, Apple Cinnamon and Nag Champa. All three were pretty consistent in strength. Both CT and HT was good in candles and they also worked well in reed diffusers. On the flip-side I didn't really care much for the fragrances themselves. I've found nicer versions of the same fragrances elsewhere.
Based on the strength, I'd be tempted to try more of their fragrances, but it would be good to hear some more reviews before committing.
Thank you !

Mostly just conjecture but.....
If I’m not mistaken, the WSP Palo Santo is one of their “natural fragrance oils” which don’t tend to work all that well in wax, based on my experience with a few. I’d venture a guess that it probably smells more true to actual Palo Santo than the BBW dupes. To my nose, the BBW scent is more amber-perfumish, but that’s probably the scent customers are expecting.
I totally agree. Most times people envision a scent based on a BBW
scent.

I wish I could be more help—I’m putting mine in wax today finally after procrastinating and getting way too caught up in some new samples, containers and wicks.
I’m trying Lab & Co as well as WSP’s Palo Santo.
I don’t have high hopes for the WSP based OOB but we’ll see...Truthfully WSP is such an odd smelling one that I wouldn’t even know what to blend with it.
I know a lot of people add P.S. EO’s to wax but I wouldn’t even know where to begin with that. I have wayyyyy too many questions lol
There are also lots of people that expect the BBW White Barn version. Though it’s not “true” PS it’s a nice comforting smell. I’ve used Scentsational Soaping’s Palo Santo (BBW type) and it smells great but I couldn’t manage to get a good CT/HT at 10% FL in my 464 after a 1month cure. I’m thinking that particular version may translate better to B+B products.
I’ll keep you posted.
Thanks so much, I really appreciate the time you took to answer. Your of more help than you realize! Do you have the PS from Lab&Co ? How is it ? I'm so out of the loop with this scent.
My sisterinlaw is really into as are
many of my friends. They're all
into yoga etc so I'm gathering that crowd is really into it . There's so many FO's I'd like to try from Lab& Co. there's quite a few on there that really aren't that much more than WSP & some that are really steep in price. I'd like to get a few vessels for special gifts or just for personal use. Do you use the wooden wicks ?

JulieI just went to the link and that FO didn't come up at all

Im not familiar with Palo Santo or Palo Santo + Sage. My sister-in-law and a few friends have requested this. Can someone recommend one please. Also, what does it smell like, does
it throw well in soy ?

WSP has a nice, soft floral thats not in your face rose. I think its called rose lemonade ??? If your looking for a lilac they also have 2 different lilacs that are very realistic.

@Moonstar HAPPY NEW YEAR! I have not tried a vanilla coconut from PFO. I don’t think they have one. 🤔. However I have tried their Vanilla Noel and LOVE IT! Vanilla Coconut sounds good though. I am wanting to place an order for some of the Tom Ford Type FO’s next. 🥰. I have a good variety of oils from PFO and to this day they rock in my waxes! Once you try some of their oils it’s nearly impossible to not keep going back because of how they perform! ❤️❤️❤️ Plus their customer service is stellar! Have you tried anything from PFO?
No I haven't but Ive been wanting to. Your right, they don't carry a vanilla coconut, I was on Essentials by Catalina site and thats where I saw that.

I save cyclo for sprays as it is volatile, like an alcohol. It evaporates quickly once exposed to air.
for rollers, I go with long shelf life oils like fractionated coconut and/or jojoba. Rancidity is a real issue for shorter shelf life oils in perfumery.
if you want A slightly thicker oil, a little Cera bellina or hydrophobic silica will change the thickness enough to allow micas for stay suspended.
I swear you know EVERYTHING ! How much Cera bellina do you add ? Isn't that similar to beeswax though ? How do you incorporate it ?

I use the virgin coconut. But not with wood wicks, I chose HTP 73 in 2.7" in vessels, Premier 735 works fine too. I was pretty close with the wood wicks (If my memory is right) booster wick 3/8" w, 0.2.
Your always so helpful, thank you again

I like espresso from WSP, its not bitter like some can be. BB also has a good espresso.

The blood orange one is good at 6%, but the others I mentioned 8% for peppermint cocoa, 9% for grapefruit mint leaves, and with salted caramel kalhua just dont bother for candles
Thank you so much ! You used the virgin coconut soy not the bees wax cocoa cream, correct ? Im looking at the wood wicks and theres so many to choose from.

You will never look at typical FO the same way again.
i e. It used lab and co specifically, but a truly GOOD fo ruins it for all others.
Have you tried any of their wax or wood wicks ! Id like to try some but not sure what to try. Which FO's have you tried ?

I remember someone on here
said they use Juicy Bits of Orange
From General wax. Can I can some feedback on that FO and any others you've used .
