  1. I just did a show today for my job. What an awesome day I had. I made almost 4x's booth fee. Got alot of contacts to. You would think with me walking around blabbing about my candles all the time, people would know that I make them. So many people where surprised at what I do on what little free time I get. This is the best show that I have done in the 3 years that I have been selling. I have another show at a local high school in December, can't wait. Gotta start pouring some more jars and melts. Hope everyone else has great luck at their shows this weekend. Dawn
  2. Totally agree 100% with this. I was in the same situation as you Maggie, but unfortunately she was sitting right next to me. She would tell people that her candles were 100% all natural blah, blah, blah...then people would stop by my booth and ask how my candles are different and I would tell them the truth. So, it pi$$ed her off, but she is misleading the customers and hopefully won't be back with her untested candle wealth candles. Okay to get to the point, every chance that I get, I educate the consumer. There are too many fly by night people out there, trying to make a quick buck and not considering the safety of people. Okay I will now come down from my soap box. Sorry. Dawn
  3. Well, I have a show next Friday...So I have a few things that still need to be labeled. But other than that maybe make up a few extra powdered bubble baths and try out some new table displays. Oh and clean the house :rolleyes2 Hope everyone has a great weekend. Dawn
  4. How about these? this is also on the Chinaspout site. Dawn
  5. here is what I found. I guess I don't know if these boxes have halloween stuff on it or what. But the first on is Oriental Trading company and you can create your own box and the other is just a site I found when I googled Halloween Take out boxes http://www.chinasprout.com/shop/ASW015 http://www.nextag.com/take-out-box/search-html
  6. This is an idea that I have been kicking around for awhile, I know that from personal experiences as well as feedback from others that most people just don't like to attend parties. Main reason: time. I have been running an idea around with a few of my testers and family, about having BOUTIQUE parties. Okay, let me explain....basically you would set up your products just like a home party, craft show, etc. Then people can come in look around, sniff your candles and purchase and leave. You would still be there to answer questions, talk about your products and take orders, but people do not have to sit through games, and presentations. Most people now a days just don't have the time to sit around and just want to be able to see what you have to offer and buy and leave. 90% of the feedback I have gotten on this idea is positive. Maybe this is an avenue for you. I was going to start this next year, by inviting friends and family, co-workers and possible advertising in the local paper. Hopefully that makes sense. Dawn
  7. Thank you ladies...that is exactly what I was looking for. You are the best. Dawn
  8. Does anyone know where I can find a display case, box or whatever for the lip gloss/roll on perfume bottles? (the ones you can get from wholesalesupplesplus.) I swear i have looked everywhere, and I am sure that it is right in front of my face. Thanks to anyone who can help. Dawn
  9. there was a thread around here somewhere for crystalwarmers.com . I just purchased from them and I really like them, but you need to be careful which ones you get. Just do a search in the Business section fro crystalwarmers and something should come up for you. HTH Dawn
  10. I sell melts and electric warmers. They do really well. I get alot of repeat business for them, and they are easy to make. Dawn
  11. Could this be the hardest contest ever? Okay after I bugged my husband, mother and best friend...we all came up with this.... OFCI Our Forte Creates Imagination I don't know....but its a start. Dawn
  12. http://acrylic-bookshelf.nonev.org/ this is all I could find... maybe it will help. I am at work so the sites are blocked and get peek to see if this is what you are looking for.
  13. Okay this is after about 4 hours burning. I can already tell that I am going to need to add a 3rd wick.
  14. Thanks Christy, I'll see how they do and probably add a 3rd wick. Did these sell well for you??
  15. I am going to test burn it tonight with the two wicks. Just off the top of my head....I think the bases are about 4-5 inches length wise and MAYBE 3 -4 inches width. I think. I will let you all know how it goes. Dawn
  16. Don't know if this has already been posted, but I found these cute little containers at Michaels today. They had these and some with like Halloween decor on it. They are really cute and were only $1.00. Not bad...I am going to try and double wick it and test burn it tomorrow.
  17. Here's a site that was posted a couple of days ago. I don't know if it has anything on there that you can use. http://www.ilrg.com/forms/#ventures
  18. Vicky that is an awesome idea. I never even thought of that. Thank you!!! And Michelle I will check out Nashville wraps also. Thanks Ladies Dawn
  19. Okay need to reorder bags, thought it would be cute to get some with my logo on it. Can anyone recommend somewhere that is reasonable? Thanks Dawn
  20. Maybe I could just fill in the bottom of the cavitys, so I still have the rose shape, but it won't be so big. Thanks for the feedback. You were both very helpful. Dawn
  21. Okay got it measured it works out to be 5 oz. Do you all think that is too big? Thanks to anyone who answers...I really appreciate it.
  22. No I didn't even think of that. I will do that when I get home. So how many oz would be an average size for the bath bombs? Thanks again
  23. Gotta question. I bought this 6 cup Silicone Rose Muffin Pan. I want to know if making bath bombs in this would be suitable? Reason for my question. They seem like they would come out REALLY big. I'm not a home, so I had to look it up online to find the dimensions, but they are 11.00 x 7.00 x 1.50 (0.07 cu. ft). I really want to use this mold, but I know that it won't work for tarts (its just too big.) The picture I attached is a little deceiving (sp?) it is not as thin as it looks. I guess I just want to know what is an average size for a bath bomb? TIA Dawn
  24. don't know who ran it, but I think it was from containerandpackaging.com Dawn
