  1. When you guys give a candle to a person to test it for you what all questions do you need them to answer for you and how do you word it?
  2. Thank you for your kindness... I'm still kinda in shock I think... I'm wondering if I should try another wax or just another jar or another kind of wick lol I am driving myself crazy trying to get this dancing flame under control! I was gonna go back through my notes today and maybe see which of the seemingly billions of combinations had the best throw and just go with that and forget nit picking about the flame... but then there's the perfectionist side of me... lol
  3. My cousin took his own life so it has been really hard... trying to find a sense of normal again. Ty for asking that was really sweet. Anyway who sells Clarus? I'm not sure I've heard of that wax? Do you know if it's kind of along the same lines as 6006? Didn't glory say that was like 75% 4627 and 35% some soy blend? I haven't tried 6006 yet either but would like SOMETHING to work right so I at least have a base line on how each wick performs lol so zinc wicks worked better in 4627?? Hmmmm
  4. Yes I meant oldglory's wax that she uses 6006. sorry for the confusion and ty rorschach the response oldglory!
  5. I too chose 4627 after reviewing MANY wax reviews and this one seemed to have some of the best reviews when it came to high fragrance load... I have only been using 6% but can't seem to get the dancing flame to calm down... a couple of different combos have yielded a good HT so not sure if I should go with it or maybe try glorys 6006!
  6. Candle guy are you throwing in the towel on 4627 all together and if not display you ever find what wick worked the best? I have been going through some family things but ready to get back at it.
  7. Im so sorry i didnt catch that you had responded too hapathy ...I did try htps, I used the 83 104 105 and 1212 and still had dancing flames ... although now that I think about it I only tried one wick per candle so I COULD try double wicking but it doesn't seem like it would cure the dancing flames issue... I'm so frustrated!
  8. If anyone has stayed with this wax and has tamed the flickering can you please share how? I have been trying to perfect this for not quite 6 months. I am using the 8 ounce country colonial jar from peak ... I have tried straight 4627, mixed it with 40% 4625 and have also tried mixing with 40% 4786 and have even tried straight 4630. I have tried lx 14,16,18,20, 22, 24, 26, 28 then switched to double wick 16 double wick 18 some combos I get a good HT some not very much some are under wicked I'm guessing even though double wicked cause they drown them selves out about 3-4 times into my 4 hour test burn sessiins but ALL of them FLICKER and don't have a smooth steady consistent flame i have also tried htp 83, 104, 105,1212.... ANYONE have ANY other suggestions to get this flickering to go away short of just giving up all together?? So stinking frustrated!!
  9. Agreed... I'm gonna give one last chance to at least minimize the dancing flame with a mix this weekend.... Here's to hopin!
  10. Will look forward to your results and will post mine with the mix I'm gonna try this weekend after getting my order. I am getting a full MP within 2 - 3 four hour test burns restaurant amzing HT and CT just don't particularly like the dancing flame... Would prefer a soothing consistant flame... Maybe I'm wanting too much lol we'll see!
  11. So we meet again candle guy! Lol I too am on the constant hunt for the PERFECT wick/candle/HT/ flame with this amazing and frustrating 4627. Did you ever concur the dancing flames issue? I am still trying to perfect the 8 oz country colonial apothecary jar from peak ... Just ordered a couple other wax samples that should be in tomorrow... one of which is the 4630 (great minds think alike) but the other one is 4786 that I read in one of the posts on here was the only thing that he found to correct the dancing flame thing. Just wondering if you discovered a different "cure" I could try as well! We'll get it eventually RIGHT?!?
  12. Thank you Chuck that's also very good points ... Will do a power burn next week on a double wicked lx 14s and lx 16s do you guys think different colors will cause different results ... Say 3 drops of teal as opposed to 3 drops of red etc... ?
  13. Well howdy! And welcome ... As you've already seen this place is AWESOME!! The knowledge here is unlike anything we can find elsewhere... Welcome and if you need anything just ask!
  14. That's a really good idea Becky...ill make one and let it cure and do just that! And yes I didn't get as much HT as I would have liked but I will try it again thank you so much for the response!!
  15. Hello it's me again! Lol so after an amazing suggestion I went ahead and did a double wick in my 8oz country colonial apothecary jar. I ran a test of one jar double lx 14, one jar double lx 16, and one jar double lx 18. They all burned through with almost no trace of wax left I moved them around in my house with a systematic rotation each time I relit for a test and think I got the best Hot Throw from the lx 16 even though the flames are dancing quite a bit and to keep the size of the flame down and no sooting I had to trim to more like 1/8 inch instead of the standard 1/4 inch. But it seemed to work. So being the ocd person I am I wanted to cure the dancing flame issue ... And it's not sooting or anything or looking like it did when I had too small or too big of a wick ... I was just hoping to get more of a smooth calm flame. . . so again after reading a post on here about someone mixing 4786 with the 4627 in a 40/60 ratio to eliminate dancing flames. I already had 4627 but no 4786 so I tried the 4625 I have for my tart blend. Mixed up two jars both with .5 oz lovespell from peak ... one double wicked with lx 16 and the 60% 4627 and 40% 4625 then the other jar was double wicked lx16 and 70%4627 and 30% 4625... Still dancing flame and still too big of a flame if I don't trim to 1/8 inch and my hot throw seems to be lower with the 70/30 mix for some reason. Would you go ahead and order the 4786 to try to eliminate the dancing flame or leave it alone? And I'm a little concerned that if the consumer doesn't trim the wick short enough then they will get big flame with sooting... Ugh sorry for the novel here just wanted to give all info! TIA
  16. Candleguy I too have been trying to get the dancing flame thing under control but I'm thinking it is what it is... I am getting good cold throw and good got throw and after usually 2-3 four hour test burns it's already started to take care of the side hangups nearly completely so I'm about at the point of just dealing with the dancing flames... Its not shooting or anything. I decided to double wick my 8 oz country apothecary jar with either 2 lx 16s or 2 lx 18s depending on scent and color.
  17. You guys are the best.... I'm gearing up to launch and had a friend of a friend that used to be a scentsy consultant stop by ... We got to talking about me doing craft fairs etc... And she told me I need to be able to explain how my product was different/better than scentsy "cause you can bet there will be a scentsy booth there and people will ask."
  18. For those that sell wax melts commercially, if someone were to ask you how your product is different from ...say... "Scentsy"... What would you say?
  19. My melts are a 4625 and 4627 mixture...candles are straight 4627
  20. You guys always come through ...thank you so much... I have been researching tents and even weights that are made to go on the posts...Great ideas! I love the ideas of fans Vicky... And great idea of leaving some outside ahead of time tall! Glory do you think that it dependant on the melt point of the wax? Say if I have a wax that's MP is 112 I should be good up to that point?? And do you guys STILL do any outdoor events or do you shy away from them now?
  21. I'm not sure if I'm putting this in the right spot or not but I was wondering if anyone has a system of keeping their melts/candles from melting or otherwise being effected by the sun/heat while being a vendor at one of the community outdoor summer events. I am thinking of doing a street dance/kinda like a farmer's market but not really community event this summer. I will be purchasing a pop up canopy tent but wondered if anyone has ever had a problem with any of their product being compromised and how you combat this? Just don't want to put out a bunch of product and have it ruined but I do want to get some more exposure and thought this would be a good opportunity. Thank you in advance!!
