  1. barbaranj you are awesome. Thanks sooo much!
  2. Does anyone know where i can obtain about 5 ounces of Peak Red Currant? I haven't stocked that scent in a while and I have a customer request. Any help is appreciated.
  3. Thanks everyone for the great suggestions. I have to make an order from Flaming so I'm going to get some samples from there. So excited! Thanks!
  4. Desparately seeking the best whiskey scent/blend ever in history. I'm not a fan as it gives me a headache most times I've poured it but trying to stick with the theme. Doing a show sponsored by Makers Mark and any other scent suggestions are appreciated. Aaaaand go!
  5. Ok here's the back story: My Mom has this jar of wax chunks she bought at a craft show years ago. When I open the jar this mind blowing, nose hair burning cinnamon-like scent escapes. It is the strongest cinnamon I have ever smelled. It is actually still on/in my clothes for hours after I leave Mom's and I am dying to acquire it. I have tried at least 5 and none are the GOAT of cinnamons. CS is close but still not enough. Maybe it's a myth never to be found but I issue this challenge to all.
  6. Yes, my candles used to have great throw. Not so much anymore and I was trying to find an explanation. Thanks for your input Goldie and Kerven. Good to know others are having the same issues as I am.
  7. With 464, if you melt it in a presto pot for larger batches, how hot is too hot? Or does it matter? I have been using my presto pot for bigger batches and sometimes it gets the wax over 200 degrees. I'm having a bit of trouble with poor hot throw lately and I'm wondering if there's a correlation? Any input or advice is greatly appreciated.
  8. Thanks Trapper. I just love BC so I'm definitely checking that one out. :)
  9. I use 464 with eco wicks and I'm in the same boat as you about paraffin. Although I think 464 is a great wax.
  10. I know folks I'm beating a half dead horse here. Does anyone mix 464 and pillar of bliss? I'm wondering how the throw is with this blend for others.
  11. I use an actual ice cream scoop. It has to have the little lever with the metal thing that swings back and forth. This way you can get the wax out of the scoop. Just melt your wax, add FO, color etc and let it sit until it starts to harden a little (I put mine in the fridge because I have zero patience). If it gets too hard, pop it back in the microwave for a few seconds. Then whip with a fork and scoop. Easy peasy
  12. Candybee I tried Elements Triple Thick and the FO separated from the lotion base. Bulk Apothecary is what I usually use but it is always out of stock. I got an email that it was back in stock and a day later it was gone. Ahhhhh!!!
  13. I'm just curious what you would consider the best lotion base of all. I tried Elements triple thick and it didn't hold FO at all for me. I had a huge wholesale order and usually use something else but it was on backorder so I tried something new. Awful. If anyone has the 411 on a nice creamy lotion that accepts FO without fuss then I implore you to share. Thanks!
  14. Has anyone tried 464 and 4625 as a wax melt blend? I have tried a few combos: 464/6006/4625, 464 alone (bad for mold release), pillar of bliss and 464. My supplier suggested straight 4625 but that seems too hard to play around with in loaves and chunks. Any thoughts? Just looking for suggestions for a potentially better mix.
  15. Does anyone know of a fantastic fresh baked (baking) bread FO? I have a customer that has asked for it specifically. TIA
  16. I've been researching making hurricane candles. Can anyone recommend the best place to purchase the mold (and insert) and wax? What is the best wax choice for making these? Thank you.
  17. Trappeur I use 464 wax for candles and a parasoy blend for melts.
  18. Trappeur, I love BC so I can't wait to try the two you mentioned, especially pumpkin cheesecake. You're right though about marshmallow. Just meh. lol BC's toasted marshmallow is nice and sweet but not very strong. Thanks again for the feedback and it's greatly appreciated.
  19. Hi everyone! I have customer requests for cheesecake, marshmallow and butter rum scents. I tried CS butter rum--Yuk! I think the person wants something like the lifesaver more sweet less rum. I tried cheesecake from ICS and I can't remember the other and they were nothing like actual cheesecake. And marshmallow but not with a burnt smell. I liked BCN best so far but it wasn't very strong in my parasoy melts so I doubt it will be better in 464 candles. FC was a no way--too much toasted for what I need. More sweet and less or no toasted. If anyone can offer advice it would be appreciated.
  20. I let my husband smell it and he says it's not too strong. I disagree but it would be a great soap for hard working, stinky man. Thanks all and I'm glad to know I could just add more base with MP. Learn something new everyday. You guys are fantastic!!!
  21. I'm in search of the best cheesecake and carrot cake FO. My friend was making a microwave carrot cake and it smelled heavenly. I just wanted to harness the scent in a candle. Any help would be appreciated. Also, I shop CS, BCN, JS, Maple Street or NG mostly. Thanks!
  22. I'm sorry Sponiebr I forgot to mention its melt & pour goats milk.
  23. Thank you for sharing TallTayl. Your posts and advice are always top notch. Thanks for continuing to help us clueless folks
  24. Laudy I hope I haven't ruined this batch of soap. 2 1/2 lbs of soap and 1 oz of FO. It's Sage & Citrus and waaaaay too strong. Any way to save it? Thanks!
