  1. Your welcome, Lori is great to work with too! Have fun ordering. Wendy
  2. Hi all, I am working with some local beeswax, came partially cleaned and we have done some more straining here prior to using, very dark colour. I am pouring as we did in the past with beeswax purchased from a wax supply company, same molds, (votive and pillar), same temps, no fragrance or colouring but having problems. They are cracking as they cool and we are having extreme problems with release from the molds with this new wax. Any suggestions or conclusions? Thanks Wendy
  3. Your site looks good, thanks for sharing. Just wondering about your herbal pics, they seem to be linked back to the site you got them from at least to me. Once permission is obtained to use them they should be saved to your computer then inserted, otherwise properties show where they are from and you are using the other sites bandwidth when active. If I am wrong, (and it wouldn't be the first time!) just ignore, lol. Thanks again. Wendy Edited, I checked again, the pics are not clickable so they would not be using the other sites bandwidth but they do show as coming from the other site, sorry.
  4. Here is a few of our old favourite Easter Candles, hope you enjoy. Wendy
  5. Do a search for "fingernailing". You may find some answers, this has been discussed before. Wendy
  6. Thanks everyone for the great comments. Our marg's do well for us! We have since gone to double glassing these with a tealight insert. The costing of this design is quite high and customers seem to like the idea of it being reusable. Used to wick with an LX 30 and crimp prior to the narrowing. Even the 30 would not drawn quite enough down the side, (we like to leave at least an 1/8 inch, more to a 1/4" of gel remainging during the burn for insulation, dependent upon the thickness of the glassware.) We also use the cactus marg glass which is much thicker use a 30, no double glassing and it works well for us. Most of our designs now are double glassed. Thanks again Wendy
  7. Here is some pics of a few more we make. Enjoy Wendy
  8. Suggest you find out if you need to barcode, it isn't cheap and will certainly have an impact on your bottom line. Would hate to see you cost out then find out about extras! Wendy
  9. Although I think the idea is a great one, I would be concerned about losing the tiny embellishments down the drain, lol. Just my luck to have a clogged drain from them, lol. Wendy
  10. Not sure what is in the air but we have had a real rush since Christmas for baby items, lol. Thought I would share a pic or two, hope you like. Baby Cakes Our diaper cakes hold everything from receiving blankets, facecloths, sleepers, baby soap, baby bottle candles to rattles, soothers and more. We make them in green, yellow, purple, pink and blue. Baby candles, available in all the same colours in Baby Powder and Buttery Vanilla, these come with a handcrafted tag which we can turn into a birth announcement if ordered. Love making baby stuff, lol. Wendy
  11. Thanks so much everyone, these are designs we have offered for a few yrs. and they still sell, especially the duckie tubs! LOL, I read soap and thought "how could you think that is soap, lol.) No not all wax, the bathtub has glass bubbles and a rubber duck, with it being double glassed you can use a tealight in the inner container when the gel is gone. The floater is all wax and the golf scene is done with glass embeds, although the flag and tee are set into a tealight cup with green gel so it looks like a golf green. The wick is also in the cup with keeps it away from the aquarium gravel, which although it is rock it is epoxy covered and flammable. Thanks for asking and again thanks everyone. This weekend we're back to making more display units, lol, always something different! Wendy
  12. A few items we are working on for orders, pics not the best, lol, no time for making them pretty! The first is our rubber duckie bathtubs, second large daisy floaters. (not wicked yet, we drill and wick after they are done) for a garden wedding order and last is a golf design we are doing for a local tournament. (It is a little hard to see these as I shot it from the top.) Hope you like. Wendy
  13. Thanks everyone for your kind comments, our baskets are popular and since we pour embeds of all types on a daily basis they are not time consuming at all. However as was said above we do charge out on degree of difficulty and length of time to complete, it is all taken into account for our final price structure. As well there is quite a few items we don't wholesale for this reason, too time consuming and we cannot charge out at wholesale rate to compensate for this. But with all being said and done, if I personally did not get the opportunity to create new designs from start to finish, other than just pouring a jar, votive etc. I would not enjoy this work as much as I do. Many days are spent pouring the basics but the fun ones are the days we get to create! LOL Thanks again for your comments they are much appreciated! Wendy
  14. Sharyl chocolate ones are done, come on up! LOL Yes we do have a million molds, (or it seems like it at times), I have so many I have never even used, they are my "had to make, will use someday" ones, Gotta say though many are at the point of no return and I need to do up more, our embed molds get a ton of use and they don't last forever at the rate we use them! Perhaps a summer project! Thanks everyone for your comments, the cones are fun and being two piece we can use the icecream portion for other things as well! Wendy
  15. Ahhh but Candleman, it is amazing how the pretty ones get them in the door for the looks either for themselves or special gifts but soon they go on to be our regulars for our everyday products as well! Our customers look forward to seeing the new designs we create on an ongoing basis and for us it makes our work exciting and enjoyable. As well our specialties have brought in numerous wholesale accounts that are looking for a product designed just for them, if they meet our requirements we will make it if possible. As I have said in previous posts our regular lines of votives, jars and melts are our bread and butter, the staples so to speak but our specialities certainly run a close second and during holiday season surpass all sales. Each to their own.. Wendy
  16. Thanks so much Carebear, we have been at it for a few yrs. now and there is always something new to learn! Had a peek at your soaps they are gorgeous, I am learning CP'ing (slowly), lol. Good luck with your candlemaking, share some pics when you feel ready. Wendy
  17. Absolutely beautiful soaps, thanks for sharing. CP'ing is new to me, been playing for about 6 months now and there sure is alot to learn! Hope I can come up with some as nice as yours! Wendy
  18. Here is another design we did up this weekend in anticipation of spring, ( we bring these out in Red for Valentines Day and various spring colours closer to Mothers Day, however we have a client that wanted some a bit earlier this year.) I prefer our larger floating roses as far as looks but these fit better in the baskets. Hope you enjoy. Wendy
  19. Hi Carebear, as I said in the post earlier last week when these were being talked about, we make our own molds. If I remember correctly we did these in 2003 for the spring. (Would have to look back in our pic files as we document each master with the date etc. ) There is similar ones around though, I am just not sure where you can buy them. We formed our clay masters for the molds based on similar (overseas) candles that were available at the time in various stores, the are very close with perhaps slightly more detail on ours. We do alot of novelty type candles and for us they do quite well, although the basic lines of votives, jars, melts etc. bring home the bacon, lol. Thanks for the comments. Wendy
  20. LOL Butterscotch it is Janet! (That would be a new flavour for us! These are done in pillar wax however we sell them placed in a straight sided votive cup mainly because they are a little tippy being slightly top heavy. They will consume though as they burn, the container is for stability. Thanks for asking. Wendy
  21. Did up a few of these this weekend too in vanilla, have to get to some more flavours this week. Wendy
  22. whoops this one wouldn't fit in the post above. It is a large floating leaf.
  23. All the talk the other day about the flowers and lily pads got me to dragging out those molds this weekend to play. (Valentines is done and out the door and Easter is almost ready!) Here is a couple of pics of what we make in large floaters for spring, hope you enjoy. Tomorrow I am going to pour my gerbers and pansies! Wendy
