  1. I just finished this choker, and I love how it turned out. But it doesn't lay right. When I put it on the bottom strand fits perfect, put the top strand is to lose, it lays away from my neck. Hard to explain, all 3 strands are of equal length, but it kinda cups away, if you know what I mean. I'm obviously gonna have to remake it, but how do I make it fit right, maybe 1 or 2 less pearls on the middle strand and 3-4 less pearls on the top strand? Would that make it fit right?
  2. Very cute, both the clothes and your daughter!
  3. TY everyone for the compliments.Doris, I wanted it to look uniform, and I didn't make the sections between the other beads long enough to braid, so I didn't want to braid the back strings. I did originally make the earrings with the 3 strands dangling loosely, but didn't like it, so I added the last silver bead, and still dont like them lol. What I've decided to do is remake them in the style I used with the purple beads and AB crystals (my 2nd set that I posted on another post). The large black bead will be the middle, horizontally, with the other beads coming out each side going up to the hook creating a loop. I think they'll look much classier in that design, and therefore go better with the necklace. Thank you for your help.
  4. I'm undecided on if I like this one. The teal beads have white and black paint swirls so thats why I used theses beads all together with this pendant, to try to pull out the colors of each piece.
  5. Love the pendant, but I dont think I like the lil white AB butterflies. Would be cute for a little girl though.
  6. This is my first with seed beads. I have a love/hate relationship with those little things. Love the way they look, hate trying to find the hole to string them lol. I dont like the way the strings near the clasps seperate, but when on they stay closer together, so I guess it's ok. I dont like these earrings. Think I'm gonna take em apart and loop em instead of hanging straight down.
  7. This is my 1st time using headpins and eye pins. My jumprings are to thick of a gauge so I had to use some headpins to make some. It looks a little rough, but not to bad for a beginner IMHO lol. Like the earrings, but dont like the other pieces. I think its the teardrops sticking out from the rest that I don't like. What do ya'll think?
  8. This pic is really bad and the colors are alot prettier in person. The purple as well as the crystals are all ab but you really can't tell in this pic.
  9. The chips are moonstone, the rest is just pretty glass beads lol. I absolutely love how this set turned out. Please for give the glare and quality of the picture, I used my scanner lol.
  10. Hey Val, how are you? LOVE the breast cancer awareness ones the most! Did you use a head pin to string those?
  11. That looks good compared to my 2st attempts. One was a Purple and red tie tie, that ended up light lavender and pink washed lol. But it did crackle. Good Luck on your next go, cuz I know your gonna go nuts on this now til ya conquire it.
  12. oh mannnnnnnnnnn, not glass marbles, just when I was thinking that using jacks would be fun. But then with my luck I'd melt the ball.
  13. Sterine is an addative, but it doesn't inhibit the mottle, you need vybar for that. Blisters sounds like air bubbles to me, if thats the case, you need to tap your molds after pouring to release the air. I usually have troubles with the air bubbles on my repour. I use a tooth pic to pop them while its still hot. HTH
  14. The one in Ohio sounds to be the best for me, since I am in Northern MI. I looked at the site for last years, but I'd like to know about this years. But June 24th is a Sunday, aren't they usually on Friday Night through Sat. We want to take a trip to Ohio to go to Cedar Point and a zoo too, as well as Nature's Garden etc hehehe. So if there's one in Ohio this year, that will be the best for me.
  15. I am personally interested in one in Ohio or even Chicago, but did a search and did find any talk about one this year. I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything. Plus I wanted to get rid of this memo telling me I need to post lol. TIA
  16. Chocolate scents....Chocolate chip cookie, fudge brownies, etc. It's crazy cuz I'm one the biggest chocolate lovers you'll ever meet, but I can't stand to pour it, and I dont understand why. Florals period give me a headache when I pour them.
  17. At our local store it's $16.99 for 500. Not sure if thats a good or bad price.
  18. Becky is the owner of Just Scents.Of those you listed, Sweet Orange Pome is the only one I've tried, and I like it. I would like the orange to be a little stronger, but at least there's no fuel smell like with most oranges, maybe thats why it's blended the way it is. It's sweet. Throws pretty well in paraffin. I dont soap so dunno there. Others I've tried in paraffin areLilac, pretty true, nice throwCotton Candy, gotta let it cure a while, then has good throwPina Colada, its heavy on pineapple, nice throw, let cure a whileSweet Berry Delight, personally dont like it much, light throw, tart testers saying sameDowney April Fresh-ok, ok throw, like lonestars muuuuch betterWonderful Cake, dont like it, tart testers didn't either, one even said it stinksKitchen Spice-Dont like it oob, havent put in wax
  19. not Sharon, but thought I'd explain. She said she uses 1.25 teaspoons of Vybar 103 per pound of wax in her formula. HTH
  20. The first case of wax I ever bought ended up being cane wax from gen wax. I was brand new to candle making. I went gun ho pouring pillars and votives with this wax. I let everything cure for a couple of weeks before burning anything. Boy was I heart broken when nothing was burning right. I asked about it here and ended up finding out that it was Genwaxs cane wax, so I threw out everyting I had poured, about 30 lbs worth of candles. But it was GREAT for pic embed canes. Came out beautifully, w/o any addatives, and no mold release needed. I'm currently using 1260 and not nearly as happy with the results. It's always a struggle to remove them from the mold, and I think it's a little more opaque than gen waxes was.
  21. I thought about doing a juried show last year. When I got the application they required photos showing materials, equipment, crafter in the process of making the products (at 2 different angles for each product) finished products, and your booth setup. I didn't end up applying. You had to send in application, pics, and booth fee (which was outragiously high IMO) buy July for a December show. I couldn't send pics of a booth since I'd never had one, had no finished products at the time, and I was way nervous of the judge. She was my Art teacher in High School:shocked2: and one of the most talented artists IMO. There was nothing this woman couldn't do beautifully. It would tear me up if she turned me down. I know this sounds immature, but her opinion always meant alot to me. Anyway Congrats on getting in, and dont forget to let us know how everything goes at your show!
  22. Thanks for understanding all. I honestly was at the point of tears at a couple of points that day. The following day I decided not to touch the 3 wick and have been just using my other mold, which is a single wick. I have a magnet on it and though not perfect, it's working pretty well. Leaks a bit on my tray but once I put it into the water bath all is fine. This slows down production, but on the other hand I wasted a whole day fighting to use the second mold, so maybe it doesn't. So things are much better now.
  23. No e I didn't chill my molds. But my kitchen is on the cold side, maybe that's the problem. Thank you very much for the compliments. I regard some of your opinions very highly and they mean alot to me.
  24. I use burgundy dye myself. I've also atchieved it buy using red and a bit of black.
