  1. Wow, thank you for all your lovely replies! :)
  2. Here is 2 pictures of my sand candles. The first one, blue, is meant to have bubbles on the surface! The second one, purple, does not have a wick. Wasn't sure if I wanted to put one in. Some people told me not to put wicks in them. They said that they would never burn them. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/rreddmustang/album?.dir=/9e1bscd
  3. Thank you everyone for your replies. I tried peak, but there web site said that they are out of 160. I ordered from GenWax today! I was going to order from them before, but I could not find where there were located. Thanks for telling me its CA! Donita, thank you for your link, I could not find cw160 in a slab tho, just a case. Have a great day all!!!!
  4. Please let me know where I can buy a slab, about 10 pounds, of wax for canes. If possible, please provide the suppliers part number for the wax. If you know a supplier of the west coast, oregon, california, washington it would help to save on the shipping costs. I already tried pourette, but they were unable to send it to me. Thanks! One additional question, is parrafin the only wax the i should use for canes? Don't want a wax with too much opacity. Thanks again!
  5. Yeah, I tried my hair dryer, seems like it takes a while. I thought about using a knife thats heated up with my propane torch. Does that sound plausible?
  6. Hello, I just made my second cane, the outside looks great, the inside is "not" as smooth and shiny. What should I do to make it look better inside? I made a plain shell, for practice, without using an insert or embeds.
  7. Thanks for your help everyone. I am going to try the 24#, bright white paper. Thanks!!
  8. Thanks sharyl555, my choices for printing are plain, heavy weight matte, photo glossy, premium photo paper. I guess I should choose heavy weight matte?
  9. The instructions I have read on various web sites say to print photos on plain paper for hurricane candles. The quality of the photos I have printed on plain paper are not as good as using photo paper. I set my printer to print "photos", using a jpeg file. I am interested to what you do to print pictures to use on hurricane candles. What type of paper, printer settings, photo file type, etc. Thanks!
  10. Loved the info about hurricans with photos! Has anyone tried using transparencies instead of paper to print the photos on? Wasn't sure if the plastic would hold up to the 190 degree heat Let me know!
