  1. The one's I make do not leave a ring in the tub...
  2. Myself and my customers prefer light oils:smiley2:. I agree w/Scented. Too many butters and oils will make the bath feel a little yucky, IMO of course. When I step out of the bath with one of my bombs, I feel refreshed, just the right amount of moisture on the skin and smelling good!
  3. Congratulations! I can't wait to see the pics!
  4. I like the second and the fifth. I think the fonts for those two look a little more professional than the others. JMO though...
  5. I buy my citric acid in 50 & 100 lb bags. What I do when I get the bag home is cut it open, get one of those black hefty bags, place the bag inside of a huge box, pour the citric in and place under my bb table. Easy access and all I have to do when I'm done is push the bag down into the box to release the air and close the lids of the box. HTH Shani:smiley2:
  6. Thanks, I use the ikea ice tray moulds...
  7. My bombs float, although I think they are fine either way. It depends on the ingredients used. The more dense the bomb is; like butters, oils and other goodies, most likely it will sink. But if your recipe only consists of baking soda, citric, light oils and fragrance, most likely it will float:smiley2: HTH Shani
  8. Exactly. Some gel gm soaps and some don't. I prefer not to gel :smiley2:
  9. It sounds like the milk was burned when you added the lye to it; the ammonia smell will go away with cure. I use 100% goat's milk and all my bars have come out a light tan color; except for those with discoloring fo's. What I do is pour my goat's milk into an ice cube tray and put it in the freezer overnight. When I'm ready to make the soap, I take the cubes out of the freezer measure, prepare an ice bath in the sink, sit the pitcher in the ice bath with the goat's milk cubes in them and SLOWLY add the lye. Make sure your oils ready and the mold is lined so as soon as you're done making the lye/goat's milk mixture you can add it right to your oils. The lye will start to saponify with the fat in the goat's milk; that's normal, just stick blend it once you add it to oils to get an even consitency. As soon as I pour the soap in the mold, I pop it right in the freezer to prevent gel. HTH Shani:)
  10. In one batch of bath bombs, I can make 10 moving at a moderate pace. If I move slower the mixture will start to dry out. HTH Shani
  11. Whoa! $9 bucks a pop heh? I may have to make some modifications from some jars I've seen in the dollar store. I want to test the market before I invest moolah. Thanks for the replies! Shani
  12. Hi all! I didn't want to hijack Elle10's thread, however, I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get the jars that the bombs are in. I am doing my first market this Sat and those jars would look great with my theme. I've checked Target and the like and came up empty. Thanks! Shani
  13. The amount of fo used is in proportion to the size of your batch. I wouldn't add 1 1/2 tablespoons of scent to say an 8 ounce batch of bombs. If you choose to consistently make bath bombs, you'll come up with a recipe that you will know like the back of your hand and know how to adjust the fo accordingly.
  14. I've only used the cphp method once or twice, but my guess would be a little too much water. Did you use your tried and true recipe?
  15. I put usage instructions on my packaging as well. I agree with the others; they should only be used once.
  16. Wow! That is fantastic! You have a wonderful daughter and both of you are in my prayers. Shani
  17. Hi Angie, I wholesale handmade soaps. We are in the process of revamping our site, however, you can still take a look and if you are interested, pm or email me. http://www.mygiftblvd.com/GiftBlvdWholeHome.html Shani Edited because I forgot to add that we are also modifying our wholesale min, policies and costs...
  18. I agree with Jenny, once you have a solid recipe under your belt, you can press them out in seconds. I personally use a metal mold and I just did 800 bombs in 1 1/2 weeks! My bombs are slightly bigger; diameter of 3-3.5 inches and weighs 3.5 ounces. It took 4 months to get a recipe suited for me and my climate. HTH Shani
  19. I agree with Julia, check local chemical supply places in your area. It will save you a great deal on shipping nowadays!
  20. I have many but I'll just list a few; bombs, melts and soap.
  21. Is it extremely humid at your place? If so this can cause the melt to fizz...
  22. I'm in the process of revamping the site; however you can still take a peek. http://www.mygiftblvd.com
