  1. Thanks Chris, I have to admit that I only did the icecubes part - no cold water bath:embarasse I will give it another try with bath soon. Thanks for your help!
  2. Well, yesterday I used milk ice cubes and poured the lye reeeeaaaalllllyyyyy slow and eventually it still went orange. At first it was light yellow, but at the end it was orange as the last time. So I used that orange stuff. I will cut it tomorrow and see what comes out of it. Of course I used vanillabased fragrance which made it tan anyways plus I tried to make some swirls with tumeric. So I will have brown soap. But at this point I am not worried about color, just wanted to be sure that it is safe to use this orange milk. But for the future - you still say that the soap will cure to a offwhite even if the milk-lye micture is orange? Best, Eva
  3. Thanks!! I already threw it away, it looked too scary... I really appreciate your instructions, I will try to do as you said (hopefully) tomorrow. Fingers crossed I will not ruin it again:rolleyes2
  4. I just poured lye into milk to try some milk soap and it turned orange!! Should I even continue with this batch?
  5. Yes, it is soooo much cheaper to ship via USPS than UPS or others of kind. I live in Estonia and order my fragrances from US. I ask to ship USPS Global Express Mail and it reaches me within a week or so. Of course if they need it reallyreally fast then UPS or DHL or Fedex probably will be quicker, but for me a week is just fine.
  6. I use pure soy and these BCN oils are all good throwers: creme brulee strawberry jam juniper breeze cucumber melon lily of the valley lilac blueberry muffins mac apple purely herbal spiced cranberry Best, Eva
  7. May I ask - why don't you want to re-sell your containers?
  8. They say they use essential oils - I guess it makes the candles more expensive. If people are willing to pay 40$ - way not. Of course I would like to see the person paying 80$ for the trimmer:D
  9. It would make sense if some store who is interested to carry your products asks for free samples, but a customer that would buy one of smth for personal use:undecided ... Of course it is true that in stores they usually have testers but it seems to be a bit too much to ask for a tester from an online store if you just want to buy one product. So it may not be fake but it sure seems like a lot of trouble
  10. Heh, it is a bit tricky... Fill both halves and put some extra on top of both, squeeze together very tightly, wipe off what remains on the outside, then carefully remove one half and then the other. I guess the trick is that the bomb material cannot be too dry nor too wet:( And I also discovered that it helps to spritz the material with water and wash the molds a few times inbetween bombmolding. The first three or four came out very easily with no problems and then it just stopped working - they didn't come out that easily and the halves did not stay together. I was clueless:undecided Then I spritzed some water on - guess it got too dry. And I also washed the molds and when they were "fresh" again the bombs popped out easily again. I is not too logical when you think of it, but it worked:) Well the sprizing part is logical but the mold washing.....
  11. JS Champagne & strawberries is also an option - it is one of my most popular scents and I colour it light pink
  12. Hi! I tried your recipie, thanks!! But I did some changes of my own - I didn't use witch hazel or borax as I simply didn't have any. And I used sojamilk powder. And a micture of sweet almond oil, castor oil and grape seed oil. They turned out great - hardened well, felt good and didn't leave the bathtube greasy. I am especially happy because they were my first bathbombs I try to post a picture also although it is not the best one. Thanks again!
  13. I would vote for the first one
  14. Hi Sheri! I use several scents from them - creme brulee, juniper breeze, spiced cranberry, lilac, strawberry jam, blueberry muffins - all very good in my opinion that I can recommend. I use 100% soy. I live in Estonia so shipping from US is quite expensive + not all suppliers ship to Europe. So I use two suppliers only - BCN and JS and I have been quite lucky - most of the scents that I have ordered have worked for me. I have to thank this forum for finding them:D Best, Eva Oh, I forgot cucumber melon!
  15. BCN has a good and true one in my opinion. Best, Eva
  16. JS orange marmelade still fuel smelled in my soy:embarasse .. sorry to ruin it for you..
  17. Yes, it is common for soy candles to look like that:) use a heat-gun or blow-dryier to melt the top layer of the wax, it usually helps . Based on my experience there are a lot of factors that can change the look of the tops - different colors, scents, who knows what - they all can produce different tops, but yes, you probably did everything right and it just is smth that is characteristic of soy wax Best, Eva
  18. my own sample is still on its way, but people here have recommended BCN's strawberry jam as for apple I added just a bit of vanilla (JS Becky's ultimate) to BSN's red mac apple, it softened it and turned out pretty good. Best, Eva
  19. Some people have praised BCN strawberry jam. I haven't tried it myself, but people on this forum have said it is a very true scent.
  20. Sorry to say, but I have to agree with Sarah - I could not get a throw out of this one, I even couldn't smell it properly OOB I also ordered the scent after very good reviews on some forums but no luck for me. I was really dissapointed because I really hoped it would be a good scent and I could replace WYW mulled cider with it but these two cannot be compared. Guess I have to go back to WYW even if it is as expensive as it is.
  21. JS orange marmalade also fuel smelled when burning in my 100% soy:sad2: sry, eva
  22. If it is just packaging you are talking about then probably other manufacturers can handle it, who are not in candle business themselves. They probably have less interest to steal your idea. Best, Eva
  23. aaa - you also asked for good florals from JS. I haven't tried that many, but sweet pea and honeysuckle are good, especially honeysuckle - very strong bot hot & cold
  24. JS sensual did not work for me in my 100% soy:sad2: very weak throw both cold & hot. sorry..
  25. If you are looking for juniper, then Save on Scents has a good one - their ultra concentrate threw great in my 100% soy. (I guess it smells the same as juniper breeze - I haven't tired Peak's) Best, Eva
