I haven't seen Keestone mentioned here. Anyone know of any 'must haves' besides the pecans & pralines? Thanks

I finally realized I need an impulse sealer, but am unsure which size would be best. I keep looking at the 8 in, but wondering if the 12 in would be better. What do you all use? thanks

I use Ky125 & use a cd 5 or 6. I tested numerous wicks before deciding on these.

I have to jump on the bandwagon, too. After years of glueing the tabs in, I took Trish's advice & pour without wicks. Works like a charm!

I bet those are 1.5 oz jars. I think LoneStar & Wickware's has them. They are cute.

Does anyone know another source of the 3 & 5 inch plastic pie domes other that Scottcrew? Here is a link to pics of them. Thanks

Very well could be the dye you are smelling. I always scent my chunks, a little lighter than overpour, but scented just the same.

I can see where that might work, but these pies are going into stores, so I can't cover the top up. I shrink wrap them, then tie with wraphia, which works in most cases. Sometimes the filling of the pie gets a little tall, that's when the wrap actually comes in contact with the wrap. I might try to buy a small amount of the HD just to try. No since using it if it isn't much different. Thanks

Ok, I think I have the right forum now, lol. I use md gel in a few of my pies. I was wondering if the hd would be 'stiffer' to the touch. I ship alot of these & am always afraid the gel will stick to packaging.
Thanks

I think there are a couple of ways to make these. I'm assuming you mean pillars. Years ago I made some that I called Caliope. I took a plain white pillar & dotted on beeswax with the end of a paint brush. After these dried, I overdipped the pillar in clear wax. I still have one, but over the years the dyes have kinda bled into the wax. The other way might be to make circles using a cookie cutter. Dip these in hot water til they are flexible, then put them on the inside of the pillar mold. It's not easy getting these to stick to the inside without falling off, but I've done it with other shapes.

You can do it either way. I usually don't like using the 2 pc molds, but sometimes ya just have to! Just try to get the wick as straight & taut as possible.

I have another request for grandma's kitchen. I have smelled so many that are different. Some smell like apple pie, others like spiced vanilla. What do find sells the best?
thanks

If you can't get it back to replace it, you can fix the leaky mold with an epoxy type stuff. Here we have something called JBWeld that is amazing. I also had a mold like your & used this stuff. Never had it leak again. Perhaps if you can't find anything like that someone could send you a tube, it is not large.

I've had a run on pecan & pralines. I have finally used up all my Kinghouse fo & noticed that Keystone is out of stock. Are there other fos that are close to this one? Thanks

Thanks, I'll try theirs. I noticed you were in Ft. Worth, you lucky dog! I'm in the boonies about 2.5 hours from there. I'd kill to have a local supplier, lol. Thanks again

Not sure about the splattering, but did she burn the pillar close to a ceiling fan or air cond. vent? The reason I ask is that a friend of mine said my pillars dripped everywhere. I always wick my pillars to leave a pretty good edge to them, so I asked if she placed it near a ceiling fan. She said, yeah, it was right under one! Duh!!

Is there a good hot fudge brownie out there that will throw good in soy? I've been using Steve's HFB forever, & it is fantastic in parafin, but I just can't get the throw I want in my soy. Thanks

I also used the stampin up heat gun til it bit the dust. I went to Michaels to buy another one & ventured over to the shrink wrap isle. They had one there that had a heavy duty cord that was priced the same. It really looks just like the stamping one, just a heavier elec. cord.

Is there anyone out there that makes a pillar wax like the ok6228? I sure miss that wax. Does igi not make anything comparable? I know they have the 4625, but it's not nice & opaque like the 6228.
Thanks

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem, lol. It makes me want to cuss my head off!! I finally dug out my cotton wicks & they are burning much better, really too much better, lol. I'm wondering if the eco wicks that I bought from a different source are just different. I think this is why I hate doing containers! I also don't like to overwick a container. I'd much rather it took a little longer to get the full mp than to have one so hot you can't touch it. Thanks everyone for your help.

I've been testing the GB444 in 8 oz square mason jars. Had a beautiful burn with Eco 8, in fact, was thinking about trying the eco 6. Our weather went from 91 to 61, & now even the 10's aren't cutting it. I am in Texas & need to ship these to New Jersey. How in the world can I know how they will burn? I never thought it would matter, but apparently it does! Are there better wicks out there for this wax? I've got lx; cd; & some htps. Thanks

Sorry you had to buy such an awful candle, but at least now you KNOW yours are truly quality candles. Seems like some companies will say anything to boost sales. I'd be ticked off too.
