  1. I won't be ordering anything, lol. I need a sale on pounds of fo, not 4 or 8 ouncers!! If suppliers realized how a $1 or $2 off pound would sell, they might sell more product. Sorry, just a rant. I really could use some of Longwyck's hot apple pie!!

  2. :D

We are talking about this on another Forum I am a member of.

Both men and women are saying they read that vanilla reacts on men as a mood changer.

    Anyone read that?

I'm putting one in the bedroom to check it out. hahahahahahahahaha!

I don't know about vanilla, but I can't burn CC's Sultry Angel if my DH is home, hehe. You might try that one!

  3. I've been watching this thread. Sorry I'm no help as I no longer use zinc wicks, but have you tried any other wicks? Perhaps the cds? I'm curious as to what is causing this. I know that most wicks are coated with a higher melt point wax, except perhaps the wicks that are made especially for soy. Could there be something different about the wax itself? Very puzzling!

  4. You're getting close to my neck of the woods. I'm in Texarkana. Unfortunately there are no local suppliers, but there is Wickware's in Pittsburg, Tx; Cajun Candle in Louisiana; Lonestar, Just by Nature, & Taylor in N. Central Tx. Starville is in Tyler, Tx, & Wix n wax is in Gladewater, Tx. That's all I can think of at the moment.

  5. FedEx here. I switched all my shipping from ups to fedex 2 years ago. They are cheaper & much faster than ups. a package will get to new jersey from texas in 2 to 3 days. Alot of the boxes I receive thru ups look like they have been run over, lol. In fact, I had one that was completely flattened.

  6. I order my wax from Greenleaf Candle Supply~do you know that supplier? It's in Texas. I have ordered from Cajun and BCS, but those are the only suppliers I know that are in the Texas/Louisiana area.

Yes, I started ordering my pillar waxes from them, then they changed manufacturers, so I'm waiting on the new wax to test once again. I also order from Lonestar, Just by Nature, & when I have to, from Wixnwax in gladewater. I try not to order from their because their shipping is just too darn high. :wink2:

  7. Yep, been there. I just order new wax & start retesting. I hate it, but seems that wax is never consistent from one batch to another. I noticed you are from New Orleans, I'm in NE Texas. Was wondering if there are any suppliers that I don't know about in the area. I order from Cajun, Wickwares, BCS amoung lots of others.

  8. What you need is silicone. I've made a few embed molds & will try my hand at a pillar mold soon. I just have to figure out which silicone will be best for my application.. Here is a site that sells silicone, but it is pricey.

    www.smooth-on.com

Basically you have a model for the item you want to mold, attach it to a suitable container, then mix & pour the silicone over it.

  9. I'm also a long time scrapper, but quit paper scrapping because I got so impatient & couldn't sit still long enough, lol. I now digi-scrap & I love it. I can sit at my computer & mess with a page, then print it out. Makes great gifts. I'm saving my money now for a wide format printer!!:D

  10. I'm using Ky125. Sure wish I had the tabs. One of mine burned for about 10 hours yesterday. This morning it was a *itch to light. Finally got it burning, but I don't think customers would have the patience to mess with it. I did cut one in half long ways & am burning it in an 8 oz jelly jar with no problems.

  11. Hi all, just got my wood wicks in today from wsp. I've got 2 burning already, I'm not very patient, lol. So far they are doing great, had a devil of a time getting them cut to the right length. The only thing I'm a little worried about is how hot the container is getting. I'm trying them in a 8oz square mason. Has anyone tried to trim the width of the wicks? Think I'll dig out my dremel tool & try that. So far I'm impressed, but would not even think of selling them without a wick tab to hold the wick. I had a candle with only 1 inch of wax left, so stuck a short wood wick into it. I want to see what it does when the wax is all melted. Bet it just falls over & goes out. Oh, & about the crackling, it is crackling, but you have to be close to the candle & not have the tv on! I'm sure this is a fad that will fade with time.

  12. I need to replace 3 of my best sellers from BCN unfortunately....can you suggest a sub that smells the same or very very similar....these all have a fp of 200 or above but aparently i'd still need to have them shipped via UPS which I can't do....thanks!

    Macintosh Apple - Yankee Type

    Blueberry Muffins

Pumpkin Spice (not the closeout pumpkin)

I can vouch for the blueberry muffin at the Candlemaker's Store. I used to use bcn's, but a few years ago it changed, so I went with the one at steve's.
