  1. I have to agree with everyone. I like the Hot/Cold throw of this wax and the smooth, creamy texture it can produce for a plain pillar. I just recently played with it on a marble technique. My opinion is it will be great for the marble technique. I still love my 1343 as it is more versatile.
  2. I love the colors you chose. The layer is wonder. Your dahlias are magnificant. My mom got the same bulbs and planted them. Her's were big, but I don't think they got as big as yours.
  3. This another attempt at Marbles. I didn't use 1343. Instead, I wanted to see how 4625 would perform with this technique. On the 3x3 & 3x4 I used 3 drops of dye and experienced some cracking as a result of putting them in the freezer for 5 minutes to help them release (note to self: don't do it again, LOL). On the 3x6 I used 4 drops of dye and had some disfigurement I assume from too much heat from the heat gun. The little disk was left over wax that I added 2 drops of dye. It is more close to the affect I was trying to achieve. I want to thank Georgia for posting her results from her experiment. I was moving in the same direction. I think when I try this technique again, I will try 1 drop of dye.
  4. Hmmmmm, how does she know your candle is toxic and what kind of written scientific data does she have to support the slanderous accusations?
  5. WOW, you dad did an excellent job! What kind of wood did he use? I've never tried to burn wood before. Might have to add that to "try this once" list!
  6. Very beautiful Donita! I love your creations!
  7. I agree with everyone by saying "WOW!" You have a fabulous setup and beautiful shop, congratulations on your hard work and dedication!
  8. I'm really diggin your square's! Nice job!
  9. I missed the other thread, but "Rosie" is definitely a little doll!
  10. I love the colors and scents! Beautiful job on the crackles. I definitely want to try that technique.
  11. I haven't been to Albertson's yet. Wow, $2.60/pound including shipping is exellent. I think I paid $3.86 + tax for 18oz.
  12. Those are soooo cool! Your son did a fabulous job on the curls!
  13. Beautiful soaps Carmen. Glad to see you posting. I do have a question about "blind swirls." When you do a blind swirl, you pour off what ever amount of soap you need to swirl (i.e. 2 cups) and you only add fragrance to this amount. The rest of the soap is left unscented. Do I understand this correctly?
  14. I love my Moonlight Path. I've tried it in wax, body spray and bath milk. It really holds up. I need to try it in soap and lotion. I haven't tried the other FO's you mentioned. That being said, I have been looking at Water Blossom Ivy.
  15. That's IT! Thank you both, I truly appreciate it! I'm bookmarking it now!
  16. I got mine at Albertson's but that was about a month ago. I'm going to stop there tomorrow and see if they are still carrying it.
  17. I'm looking for the URL for FO's tested by different vendors. I have the URL for the one Melly has, but I thought there was another one. Any help would be great. I'm looking for Black Raspberry & Vanilla from Tony's. Thanks!
  18. Here are a couple of sites for you to check out to see if they have what your looking for. HTH http://www.snowdriftfarm.com/amber.html http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/supply/misc.php
  19. I feel your pain Julie G. Unfortunately, that is the nature of the beast with the Palm & Veggie waxes. I've tried pouring them with the molds heated and cold. I get the same type of marking when I use a wick pin.
  20. I can sooooooo relate Eugenia! I had "bath sand" too, LOL!
  21. Those are cool. I've seen them before too. I agree, I think it's better to heat/melt from the top down.
  22. Love the look! I agree those chunks are sweet!
  23. Yep, I like the way the colors bled too! Crackle is on my list to try!
  24. Oh, I love the green color you got with those. They really look awesome!
