  1. How does the J50 compare in scent throw?Wet spots really don't bother me much. I may have to find another wax and mix. I'm pretty sure now though the only wax I can get locally w/out paying shipping is soy and IGI. I'm really interested in the Greenleaf but haven't received my sample yet, so I'm trying to hold off buying more wax until I get to play with it first and just testing the 4627. I did notice on one scent I had to wick down, I don't seem to be getting as much of a hot throw now. The wick seems perfect otherwise, and that's the only thing I changed. This is all so addicting!
  2. I'm testing CB 4726 and have a few question. First of all, I noticed a lot of you post that you're mixing the 4726 with other waxes, and I just wondered what is the reason for mixing it? I've also seen quite a few posts saying it may need to be wicked up, but I find myself having to wick down on a LOT of fo's. I love the throw with this wax, I made one in a Patchouli and a friend of mine wanted to take it home to test burn it, he forgot to take it in the house and it fell down on the seat, (this is an 8oz jelly jar) he brought it to me today and from laying on it's side, the wax did exactly the same, it smooshed to one side, covering the wick completely and everything, it was fairly warm outside being such a vaseline type wax i'm wondering is this going to cause problems. Now I'm wondering if this may be part of the reason people are mixing, because this one doesn't set up hard enough? Also for those of you who are using this, what temp do you melt to and add fo and then pour? Just want to check if I'm in the ballpark anyway, I usually bring to 185, add fo about 180 and pour about 165. What type wicks do most of you use with it? I'm using zinc and they're doing really well for me, very little smoke or soot, I was very surprised on that one. Any help, advice or input? Kim
  3. I love ocean or rain scent mixed with a couple of flower scents. I have one that is french vanilla mixed with flower scents and it's wonderful. You could have a lot of fun mixing for this one You'll have to keep us posted on what you come up with! We need to start a scent mixing recipe list!
  4. NG has Mardi Gras fo You can check it: http://www.naturesgardencandles.com/candlemaking-soap-supplies/item/df-44337
  5. It's so good to know if I stick with 4627 I might be able to get it from Hampel Oil. I will have to call and talk to him, I usually go to the city once a month or so, that might be a really good option! Thanks!
  6. Those are the two I know of too, I liked Peaks Performance blend, but can't get it now so I'm using 4627 (testing). Waiting on my sample from Greenleaf, was really hoping to find some good wax here in OK. Hmmmm, maybe one of us should start a candle supply company....
  7. Thanks here too, I know one is over wicked, but I really don't think the ivory one is. Still testing it tho.
  8. Anyone know of any? Especially for wax, would like to save on shipping.
  9. I like the one from thecandlesource.com. Can't compare it tho, haven't tried any other one.
  10. I know I've read about this but did a search and didn't come up with anything. On a couple of fragrances I'm trying, after burning when the melt pool cools, it's a different color than the rest of the candle. For example, one ivory colored candle has a slight green hue to top now. What causes this? Am I not mixing it enough? or does it just happen with some fo's?
  11. Nevermind, answered my own questions, found it in a search.
  12. It's new and I only found it one place and it's sold out, any of you on the board tried it? And does anyone know of any place selling it?
  13. I'm looking for a new wax since peaks isn't selling their container wax anymore. I'm thinking comfort blend or wix wax 50/50. Has anyone tried the wix wax? I've read a lot on the board about comfort blend but haven't found anything on the wix wax. Kim
  14. I just got a few from candlechem this last week and I love the ones I got. There was one that was a little light, but it still had a good throw, just a light fragrance I guess.
  15. Tell them you charge $1000.00 for that, supplies extra
  16. I got a couple of bottles of their fo's off the classifieds here, I like both of them and they both have a great throw.
  17. Currently using z wicks, testing a lx right now, thinking of testing cd. For jj's, if the wick burns hotter, does that have any effect on the jar, for instance w/a hotter burning wick will the jar be warmer? Kim
  18. I'm testing a lx 18 wick on a jj right now, it's doing great so far. I believe the jj's are 2 1/2" diameter. Kim
  19. Warm Vanilla Sugar is awesome in this wax too, maybe not as big of a difference as the first one, but still a stronger throw for sure.
  20. Ok, My first test of the wax.(Peaks Performance Container) This is compared to IGI 6006, which is what I've been using. I used the Sandalwood Bouquet fo. I thought the cold throw was a little better in the Peaks wax, someone else I had smell them thought the 6006 was better. The Peaks I think dyed a little bit darker I think, I use shavings so it's not always accurate anyway. I poured the peaks Sat. (2 days ago), I had one of the 6006 I poured approx. 2 weeks ago, I sat one in my bedroom, one in daughters bedroom, lit them and shut the doors (about an hour ago). I gotta tell you folks, the peaks blew the 6006 away. It is throwing much better. At least w/ this fo. testing the warm vanilla sugar next This is so much fun!!!!!!
  21. I think I read on a post here that someone adds just a touch of vanilla to one of her fo's that has a fuely smell and it takes it away.
  22. I'll be sure to let you know how I like it, I poured some sandalwood bouquet just now!!!!!! And I think in a little bit I'll do some Warm Vanilla Sugar maybe! You know this means the testing has to start all over again, but that's the really fun part anyway!! Kim
