  1. I haven't put any vybar in the new ones i made, and they smell awesome, tried a different wick, the only ones i had on hand other than the hemp wicks, Yaley's pre waxed zinc wire core wick ( lead free), love the burn or whatever its called, the burn with the hemp wicks were really high. I made Banana Kiwi, Plum Pudding and Best Friends, my house smells sooooo good, I have been testing them like crazy and have finally fallen in love with Joy Wax. Thanks you guys are awesome, Mindy
  2. I was using hemp wicks, and found out that they don't really work with joy wax, Thanks for replying I have learned so much from this forum. Mindy
  3. I buy mine from Walmart and Big Lots. Big Lots have them cheap if you have one near you. They don't carry the jelly jars though. Your local drug stores might have some but they might be expensive. Example Nickmans Drug Store 12-$8. Mindy
  4. I put 1.5 oz of wax in except for the samples that were just 1 oz. but i made it add up with the wax, put less wax so i could get the maximum result from the fragrance, did that make sense lol. They have only been sitting for well today will be the 3rd day. They do make beautiful candles i really do like the creamy look. I am burning one right now Chocolate Supreme, it smelled so good in the sample bottle, I hope it smells in good in my candle. Thanks a bunch, I'll probably have more questions Mindy
  5. My mom bought me some Joy wax after i told her that i was going to buy like a sample of it, but instead she bought me 50 lbs, of it. I got it Saturday, I also got my sample fragrances from a different company so i thought i would experiment with both. I am sooooooo disappointed with the wax, I followed all the directions and still i can not smell the fragrance out of the container unlike my natural candles. So i thought i would use my other fragrances that i have been using, still haveing the same problem. Even when its burning i can only smell it faintly(?). I used my strongest scent i have and still no luck. But i do like how it is all smooth and creamy looking, the candles in the container look great, its just the smell, I also put vybar in my candles could that be it. I also experimented with the new fragrances with my old wax and they smell awesome. Has anybody else had this problem before??? Mindy
  6. I was just wondering, I like the hemp wicks, but i'm still testing them, slower burning in my opinion so far but that might change when i test others. Mindy
  7. Thanks, maybe i'll just buy a sample of the joy wax so i can test it out. Mindy
  8. Thanks, I was just disappointed with the pumpkin spice, I have had alot of compliments on it, I'm going to order samples from the other companies to test them. I'm going to try to buy some of the christmas scents that you guys posted, Thanks soooooo much, Mindy
  9. Yes i have another question, I applogise. I was thinking about ordering Joy Wax from natures garden candles, but want to know if anybody has ordered it before and if so, do you like it, and why do you like it??? And also have a non wax question, since i started making candles and my friends on co workers found out, they have been asking me how i make my candles, and one of my friends actually said if you can do it, I know i can, which i took total offense to. The reason for my friends comment was because i had her test one of my candles and gave her a sheet of questions like what did you like about it, didn't like, could you smell it when it was burning, or not burning, etc....., well she opened it in front of her client and her client wants some candles, all my friend saw was $$$$$ signs, and has no clue what making candles is all about, I told her its trial and error, but still nags me for everything, she even asked to be a partner if i decided to sell, basically her words, I make the candles she helps sells them and she gets half of the profit, LOL, LOL. What do you tell people that think candle making is easy and there isn't anything to it, that think that you pour the wax into the containers and vioula its done. Sorry so long, I'm just frustrated, I just wanted a hobby. Mindy
  10. Yes another question, I'm sorry but you guys seem to know everything, do any of you know where to buy a nice pumpkin pie spice fragrance, I bought mine from natures garden but i'm not pleased with it. I have a yankee candle and its name is christmas berries, i was wondering if any of you came across a fragrance close to that name or scent?? I have bought 2 that i thought would smell like christmas berries and none of them are close. Thanks, Mindy
  11. Thanks, I always wondered how long you should test pillars, i was curious. Mindy
  12. I have been testing my candles and my mom has helped me to, I just wanted to start making candles for myself as a hobby, I didn't want to sell any, believe me i have tested every candle that i have made, its sad but i'm a home health aide, and while i'm at m clients house i test my candles, i figure i'm there for 9 hours, might as well have her house smelling nice, and kill 2 birds with one stone. Thanks for all the info, I have tried 2 types of soy and haven't been pleased with them. Yep Pariffin(?) is asked for, especially in decorated containers, they say it looks a heck of alot better than soy. Thanks for all your help and info, Mindy
  13. Hi my name is Mindy, I just started making candles, heck i haven't really got to test them and I have some people that want some, I gave a couple to my dentist, just to try them out for me (lol he loves candles), jar candles of course. Well anywho, I have had a few people ask me if i could make a 3 wick candle for them. 1) how hard is it to make a 3 wick candle??? 2) how long should it stay in the mold??? I haven't even tried to make a pillar candle yet, any kind of candle i made has been in a jar, and still trying to master that. I already sold a chunky candle that i made, i didn't mean to, i took it to work, and one of the ladies made a big fuss over it and gave me $10 for it. Now she wants more to give to her family for the holidays. I use soy wax with hemp wicks. I'm trying the natural way but i have had alot of people want parrifin(?) which one in your opinion is easiest to make? Thanks a bunch, Mindy
