Wax is 464 and fragrance is Orange Peel & Cinnamon from Community Candle. One tin in 1 eco 14" " in htp 126" " in htp 1212" " in CD8 (I'm thinking I should have gone bigger on the cd??? Like a cd 10 or 12? or no?" " in 2 htp 41's (I found an old post by Sliver and this is what she used all the time in this wax...) I also have premiers but they are new to me and I have no idea where to start. Maybe Old Glory can chime in here as I know she loves these wicks and I'm thinking she does tins. I couldn't find a post of hers. I wouldn't think this size tin would need to be double wicked but I can do it if some think I should. Any recommendations I would appreciate. Thanks. While it's working well right now, at the 3 hr mark the flame is really struggling, so I'm going up to a cd12 and see how that works. Trappeur Posted September 25, 2014 Author Share Posted September 25, 2014 I forgot to mention since I had to order some wicks and an oil from Flaming Candle I thought I would try their tins....seemed cheap enough at 8.99 a dozen. The size of the 8oz is 2 7/8" round x 2" high. I spoke to the owner who was very very nice and he said he would suggest for a starting point in 464 either an eco 8, 10, or 12 or a cd 16. Another good name for this fragrance that people would relate to I would say would be Orange Spice as it sure is spicy but very sharp. How about the wick having a black ball on the tip of yours? Did that happen to you? In the cd12 it happened to me. But you know as of right now with the 2 testings I've done so far, I'm still leaning towards the cd 12. I would know to trim the wick when that happens and I can deal with that for me personally, but for the purpose of putting out to the public, it's not such a good thing....but then again so many candles out there including all the top name brands have HUGE black balls on the wick tips and they get away with it. lol....Aren't we such perfectionists.... I went with cd's because I had more on hand and have tested them with my fragrances more than I have with the Eco wicks. I think either are great choices. I have CSs & Candlewics Ecos, CSs are better because of the highmelt point wax on the wick. I rarely get mushrooms & if I do, it's because of too much FO. I was never able to find the right HTP to go in 464 & because the burns are so beautiful with Ecos, all the way down, I stopped trying the other two wick types. I'm happy since Pumpkin Soufflé can be a booger.I'm so glad you noted the dimensions of your tin! I use 8 oz deeps that are 3 inches wide and 2 deep and could never get away with a CD10! I have some cool looking tins that i would love to use but they are seamed and I was just too scared to use them. I remember when she had those tins for sale as I really loved them. Did you make them all up and sell them? If you don't mind, what wick size in the eco did you use? Aren't they vegetable tins? KrazeKelly Posted October 2, 2014 Share Posted October 2, 2014 I sealed them with Modge Podge. Its working great! I've been blending 464 & cba since I started making candles. It just works for me in keeping frosting to a minimum in glass so I just went with it since I know how my wicks work with it. I used a cd10 with Pumpkin Souffle to see how it would work and to give myself an idea how to wick the others also. I've used all the fragrances I'll be using in them before so that makes it pretty easy. Yes, I'll be pouring this weekend and getting them ready for Christmas.
