Here we go again with the wax bashing

Well I don't make paraffin candles either - I just recently started playing with parasoy but this makes me livid

There is no comparison to second hand cigarette smoke and a paraffin candle or any other for that matter!

I am going to set her straight on her site...after I gather some factual information on the subject and I hope it questions her followers

Apparently a lot who posted, but you can report them on FB. What sucks is that one can't say why it is offensive, just have to click on a bunch of possibilities, but cannot explain. Since FB is a main social media, it's harmful to those who do make paraffin candles by continuing to dredge up myths to try to make them true.

I just checked and could not get on either. Hope we at least made an impression that false scare tactics are ridiculous!!! I love organic, natural products, but the crazy, false claims - and the condemning of everything else - drives me crazy!!! I do not enjoy confrontation, but I must admit - I enjoyed that!!! Thanks ladies for the back up!!!

I must say it worked!

I posted under the GMO girls reply to "her" favorite candle- pretty much told her it doesn't exist, and as far as lead wicks......I laughed so hard - couldn't get them if you tried here in the US

High 5....one down and probably 1000's more to go! Haha

There is so much misinformation on the internet that as long as someone makes a photo meme about it.... = truth.    She made that photo and she should have been ready to defend her position and why she posted it.   I'm glad she took it down, proves she didn't research.

I'm sorry I missed it but this whole soy thing is out of control. Soy is soot free, cleaner, blah blah blah. What about the GMO's in soy wax? This wax fight is such a circular argument but lately it seems a few soy makers are pushing it a bit too far. Then you see feedback from there customers about how their candles don't throw. Maybe it's just me, but wouldn't you focus on a quality product and make sure your candles throw before you sell them?

I have been a soap maker most of my life and don't use Palm products- I don't bash those who make Palm candles, to each their own. I wish Soy makers who bash paraffin candle makers would think like this and not bash.

But in a throw competition, Paraffin would probably win every time providing it was wicked right. Though it's evil apparently. My brother in law refines petroleum for candle wax and the process to filter it is crazy.

I just wish people would live and let live. We are all different and have our preferences but doesn't mean we have to bash.

Soap makers do this too and sometimes on their listing in their shops- really unprofessional.

There's my 2 cents in case anyone cares. :)

My business has survived through all the bashing for almost 10 years. We don't put wax down, but I have a hard time shutting up when people claim their scents are all EOs like bubble gum (oooh so realistic too, to quote them), and Chestnuts and Brown Sugar (so rich and tempting, to quote them) etc. I know we're still standing and we haven't seen any of them around for a while.

It's not professional to knock others, but that doesn't keep them from creating scenes to try to drag you into the fight. It's why I stay home and make the product, because it's just too hard for me to keep my mouth shut. I believe we still keep an info sheet around about the different waxes and where to educate themselves on the science of candle making.

We put ingredients on our soap and other B&B products so the people who buy know what their getting.

Jesus. Let's just ignore what the NCA studies have proven. If NASA so much as did these studies, their funding obviously needs to be cut back so they can afford their rockets for the projects they "are" working on. I think this is a load of shi*.

I could not have said it any better.....especially the last sentence.... :)

Here's my touche' response to the above video....some great candle wax education to share....great food for thought...

Oh goodness!!! I only got through half of that interview. A bunch of nonsense. I think news organizations should perform some due diligence when they have whack jobs come on. Really, diesel fuel and second hand smoke.

I think I need to go on that show and state that when using my candles - it is just like running a marathon. So good for you!!!! I could back if up with some research and studies I just make up. :) Oh - and my soap cures all kinds of cancer! How do I know this? -because I say it so.
