justajesuschick
If so, do/did you use it straight or did you mix it with another wax?I am sticking with paraffin for now. I wondered about mixing 4789 with either 4630 or 4627.Have you tried either of those mixed with 4789?Can you share your results? Thanks! CandleMakinCutiePie
I mix 25% 4786 with 75% C3.
justajesuschick
Thanks for taking time to respond. I appreciate it!I just use paraffin but think I will buy a bit of this so that I can play around with mixing it with some others I am doing well with over the winter. Thanks again! Old Crab
I tried the 4786 in the clam shells. I found that 1oz beeswax makes them much easier to remove. I also found that the 4794 is just much better than the 4786 for tarts, no BW needed. Just my opinion though.
justajesuschick
Thanks!I was using 4794 but by itself and I have used all I have. I think I will order both 4794 and 4786 and incorporate them into my testing that includes 4625 and 4630.Thanks again!
jeanie353
Thanks!I was using 4794 but by itself and I have used all I have. I think I will order both 4794 and 4786 and incorporate them into my testing that includes 4625 and 4630.Thanks again!I've tried 4786 for tarts. Did a couple things with it. First, tried to use it as the tart wax by adding a bit softer container wax to it. For my use they were fine but a little too soft to sell. Then I blended it with 4625 and had some darn good results. I did have to pour cooler to keep from getting a dip in the metal tart molds though. Don't use clamshells anymore. The only reason I stopped is to me the longevity was not quite as good as 4625/container blend. Just my opinion and my nose. You may get better results.HTH & Have Fun Edited September 28, 2012 by jeanie353 typo
blacktieaffair
Sorry I haven't used that particular wax, but I've been a dedicated die hard 4794 fan since the first pound I ever poured. It just works for me and how I'm needing it to perform.
sunharbor
Blacktieaffair...do you use the 4794 straight or mixed with a container wax?
Cindy/WI
I tried it for tarts but wasn't real impressed, I'm now testing 6098 & 4625 50/50 mix and I'm really liking it. I was alwaysa KY tart wax person but I think I'm really liking this mix much better. hth
blacktieaffair
I use it straight right out of the case LOL. At one time I regularly stocked over 150 scents at the same time, in melts, and out of that, there was only 5 that I had to up to 1.5 oz per pound. The rest were either less than an oz pp or at a 1:1 ratio. Not saying that EVERY fo will work, because just like with anything else, I've seen others try 4794 and it not work for what they wanted out of it, but as to me, as far as an all around, 1 stop shopping kinda wax that I can use in multiple applications, that has almost a 100% 1:1 ratio of FO to wax, and holds up to the seriously extreme southern heat, and for me has a great HT and a super CT, this was the wax I started with, and I've had nothing but success with it in melts, pine cones, fire starters, dipped animals and the multitude of dipped TPs I do. justajesuschick
I ordered a slab of 4786 and also reordered 4794.Once those arrive, they will join their friends 4625, 4627 and 4630 on my new shelving.I should get lots of testing done as the weather cools with all of the wax choices I will have now. EricofAZ
Well, I tried 4786 straight and mixed. All my tarts stuck to the clamshell. Some deformed. I thougt at first it was too high of a pouring temp so I tried to cool it down as much as I could and still pour. Still stuck, but not so bad. justajesuschick
I use silicone molds so I will be interested to see how this one works. I figure if I can get a 50/50 blend that uses 4627 to pop right out I should be good with this one in the same molds, but that may not be the case.I will report back my finding once I test. ChandlerWicks
Did you try the 50/50 of 4627 & 4625?
justajesuschick
I did and I like it!I cannot tell yet if I like it better or the same as the 4625/4630 50/50 blend yet. Have melt tested on just 3 occasions so far.
ChandlerWicks
I couldn't believe when the tarts popped right out of clamshells & souffle cups. The only problem I've found is with the SCs, can't fill them all the way to the edge, they are much harder to pop out.
