KMommy
Seems that I remember reading some place that storing candles/tarts in plastic diminishes the scent? However, most of the tarts I see being sold are wrapped in plastic. How do you package your soy tarts? Do you individually wrap with cello and heat seal? maryann
I was told that any plastic bin that has a 5 or higher in the triangle (the recycle sign on the bottom) won't steal the scent for storaging. Polypro bags and cello bags won't steal the scent either. I've seen some put tarts in glass jars too. HTH
Budgie
I usually wrap my tarts individually in shrink wrap.

momscandles
Budge so I could use the saran wrap?I use the Bagettes from cousin Corporation. Does anyone know if that is poly or pro? It doesnt' say I bought them at a craft store if that helps.
Budgie
Budge so I could use the saran wrap? Hmmm, I don't know about saran wrap. That's different than the shrink wrap. I get shrink wrap at http://www.fetpak.com/whstore/main.pl/itl?192 The shrink wrap is pretty stiff compared to saran and is easier to work with because it doesn't stick to itself. KMommy
This may be a question that everyone already knows the answer to but I don't and I am here to learn so I'll ask... I have cello bags for gift baskets. Would that be ok to cut and use or is it also a scent theif?
maryann
When I said cello I meant the type that's small that you use as kids' goody bags. I'm not sure about the bigger bags, hopefully someone else can help out.
KMommy
I am just guessing here but I purchased it in the same area with the goody bags. These are just larger in size so I am guessing that it might be the same thing. I've been looking at other bags I have and I am surprised that most of them don't state if it is Polypro or ethylene. Marilyn
I have called several companies to find out what kind the plastic is. Most of them were real helpful. Anything that is cellophane is ok and I called the Saran Wrap company. The original is ok, but not the others (I forgot what it is, cling wrap maybe)
momscandles
cool marlyn, thanks alot for the info. I wish there was some way we could tell by looking because a lot of them don't say which one it is.
Kaybee23
The cello bags are polypropylene, which are perfectly safe for storing candles in. I always remember "pro" is good "ethyl" is bad.
