JI
Hi everyone,I seel 444 soy candles (no additives) in an indoor farmers market (open air) in hot Florida. I have been debating on going to an outdoor market and using a tent/canopy. Does anyone do outdoor markets with their soy candles in the hot hot weather? (As in Florida hot, 90s and high humidity). If so, how do they hold up? No additives, no dye. Thanks!
TallTayl
I do in Chicago (C3). I have to keep coolers handy and watch the samples to make sure they're holding up.
SliverOfWax
I wouldn't touch an outdoor show with a 10' pole, but that's just me.There are many threads here about tents blowing down, candles melting, labels getting dirty and ruined, and so forth. That's not for me, but a lot of people do them.
EccoLights
We also do a indoor market here in Ohio but last year did 2 outdoor markets for 1 weekend each and let me just say... We will NOT be going again! Sales wise, we did good but the hassle of dealing with melting or melted products, samples spilling over when people picked them up and so on.... Nah, Ill stick to my nice air conditioned building (even tho they don't seem to turn it on much anymore), it's still better than outdoors... Just my 2 scents =)
TallTayl
LOL on the outdoor experiences. I choose my outdoor shows carefully. While setting up I curse and say I won't do another. Then I ring out the register for the day and all is right again with the world.
Jewls819
Fortunately my market is only Saturdays from 8-12. I live in the mountains so that helps and we pack up to leave just as it is getting hot.
